I stopped here for breakfast and the thing that makes this place better than most diners is they are using QUALITY repeat QUALITY ingredients whereas many places use the cheaper house brands. Food was tasty was fresh and just out right good. The only thing I would recommend is low fat milk. Very few cafes and diners offer low fat and I don’t know why but if that is the only issue then I’m fine. Service was great and I was totally impressed as I finished my food another waitress was walking by and picked up my plate. You never see teamwork like that in other places. It’s usually I’ll get your server. I will definitely try this place for lunch and dinner. Great place

If cold soup, uncooked French fries, burnt like a hockey puck burgers are for you, then go here! The prices are reasonable but we won’t go back. Then I go to pay with charge card, the guy at the register rings it up and gives me the charge slip to sign. There’s no option to leave a tip! We eat out a lot, and they always give you the charge slip to add a tip onto, then sign. The guy at the register tells me I’m supposed to tell him I want to add a tip before he swipes the card… I don’t think so. It’s almost like this place doesn’t want you to tip.

wayne’s best kept dining secret. in a town with so many restaurants and diners, this is a gem. the food is restaurant quality, not diner quality, it has flavor. it tastes like it has been prepared by a chef, not a short order cook. t has a cute décor. the wait staff is friendly and professional. the prices are diner prices, but definitely much more than a diner.

Great local restaurant to go. Has outlasted many of its competitors over the years. It has very good restaurant food. Lunch specials are varied and reasonably priced. Veal and Eggplant Parmesan is flavorful and you get a big portion. Stuffed Flounder is also one of the better dishes they have. Breakfast items very good The hamburgers are the best around. Half pound of great meat done exactly they ways you want it — Try the Miranda burger next time you go. Excellent and attentive staff.

Stopped in Saturday night and had a great meal. I had the sliced steak, my wife had the penne pasta and my daughter ordered eggplant parmesan. Quality was very good and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

My husband & I stumbled on this place while we were in the neighborhood. The décor may be shabby but the food and service make up for it. It is very reasonable priced for what you can get as far as a Saturday lunch special. We will be back again!

You have to love a place that has been around 20 or so years with the same owner and a smiling server who has been there 11 of them. Make sure you say hello to Chris the waitress! I had the Spanish Omelette. If you like veggies in your omelette this is definitely a good choice. I’m full! Also, the home fries were perfect. Other than the food the atmosphere was nice. The place is a little outdated but it adds to the charm. They decorate the place nicely and keep it clean. I recommend Miranda’s!

Miranda’s is a charming café that looks visually like a step between a diner and a restaurant. Its food is probably on par with diners, and that is the type of fare I’d recommend — burgers, wraps, eggs, etc. Ordering an actual meal could be dicey. That said, the clientèle is mostly elderly retired folks, which provides for a nice, quiet atmosphere. Miranda’s puts up a large Christmas tree around the holidays, which is nice. They also happen to be located right next to a Nagels Candy Barn, which is an added bonus!

I was sitting in my seat eating ice cream and I was just surrounded by people that were easily in their 90s. So much history in the room. I want to know their stories. I need their knowledge, their sweet, precious knowledge. The cheeseburgers may be just OK, but the amount of cumulative years lived by the patronage is easily four times that of any other local establishment, even those that are far more crowded. Miranda’s is a great place to do a report on World War II, The Great Depression, or any other historical event from the early 20th century; you’ll be surrounded by people that actually lived through those events. They’ll be able to give you firsthand knowledge of what actually happened. INCREDIBLE!

I had lunch here with my work collegues. It’s a fine little restaurant with good food. It has a reputation for being a favorite among the very old crowd and counting the number of walkers I saw, that notion is confirmed.

My wife and I haven’t been to Miranda’s nearly as often as we could. You know the drill. .. so many restaurants.. . so little time. But one thing has never changed, in all the times we’ve been there: High quality food! We’ve never had a disappointing meal there, and both the flavor and preparation are just wonderful. One of my «test» meals for a diner-style eatery is pork chops. If they’re moist and tender and served the way I like them, it’s thumbs up! Miranda’s passed the test easily. And because I’m not a fan of mashed potatoes(yeah, there are a few of us), I asked for rice, which I found to be fluffy and tender, and not oily, like most diners serve it. The side veggies were baby carrots, served with broccoli and green beans, and they were tender but not overdone. The spinach pie my wife ordered was moist, had plenty of spinach, was NOT overseasoned or over-cheesed, and the phillo crust was perfect. The fried calamari appetizer was quite good, although the breaded coating was a bit thick. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Service was prompt, pleasant and attentive, without being intrusive. The décor(as another person mentioned) was a bit dated, but I don’t go to restaurants to look around. I go to enjoy a pleasant, quiet meal. There was background music on, but it NEVER was loud or distracting. I think the television could have been turned off(no one was watching it) — but I happen to be one of those people who believe that you can still enjoy a meal, without looking at a screen(TV or phone). But that’s ME. If you haven’t been to Miranda’s, do give it a try.

I have been going to Miranda’s for about 20 years, now — ever since Buxton’s disappeared! LOL — Needless to say, I haven’t had a bad meal there — I call it the ‘upscale diner’ — The wait staff is very friendly and attentive, there are no «Jersey Diner» waitresses here — no Flo’s or Alice’s here! Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it’s just a little more personable at Miranda’s. The food is always fresh and tasty — and not swimming in grease or butter. They have very tasty specials — and you can drink their balsamic dressing out of a glass, it’s that darn good! My hubby, my mom and I went there Sunday night, after an all day spring cleaning event in our garage, and we settled in with a bottle of red. Glasses were brought out, along with pints of water. Our waitress came over with some fresh bread and toasty garlic bread and took our order. My mom jumped at the lamb chop special, I ordered the cheese ravioli parm special, and my hubby got the crab cakes over linguini(his fav) — there was a choice of soup or salad, my mom got the beef barley, I got the chicken noodle, and hubby got the salad. Everything was very tasty and fresh — the salad was crisp ~not all iceburg lettuce~ the soups were homemade and filled with flavor. Our meals came out a few minutes later, and aside from my mom having to send the chops back for a little extra heat(they were a little more rare than medium rare), everything was delicious(I really liked my hubby’s crab cakes and would probably order them next time) — We’ve always had consistently good meals here, and even have been to some family parties in their party room across the hall — buffet style meals, that were always very good. Not sure what everybody else is talking negative about this place(besides the outdated décor, but hey, I’m not eating the décor — save the remodel and keep the food as is and I’ll be a happy camper!!!) If you’re looking for a diner-style, affordable meal, that really has that home-cooked, made with love feel, then check out Miranda’s… it ain’t «sexy», but it is ‘tasty’!!!

Don’t let the look of this place sway your opinion. The décor is definitely very dated and old-fashioned but otherwise the food is great. Sort of jersey diner cuisine. My family and I were happy with the food and service and will definitely will be going back again.

My family and I love this place. They need to update the décor BUT the food and service and FANTASTIC. It may be dated but it’s very clean. The prices are great and it is a BYOB. Nothing fancy but I highly recommend this place for a delicious, inexpensive meal!

Though the staff is friendly– the food is made with either ambivalence or just plain hate. The eggs are cold and old– the bread and pancakes — dense and stale. Gross

Walking in to Miranda’s is like walking into an episode of the Golden Girls but without any of the funny. Miranda’s is dismal, outdated… and not in a unique, charming way. In a «if this is what customers see, what does the kitchen look like!?» way. Bland, outdated food with no flavor. I would love to find out that this restaurant is a front for a cult because that would at least explain its neglect. I feel lucky I didn’t have the poops for a week. So depressing that each meal should come with a free noose.

Good service and good pot roast. No beer or wine. The décor, the outside, everything, is a little«old style,» but that has its charm. The prices were reasonable. ‘Nice separate moderate sized room, for private parties, up to about 40 people.

I go to Miranda’s every Sunday for breakfast with my kids. I’m not one to wait, wait, wait at some of diners nearby, so Miranda’s is a great place for us to sit down to breakfast. The décor is drab and a bit dark, but the service and«breakfast food» remains consisisently good. Coffee, pancakes, waffles with strawberries, muffins, etc. are our usual fare and have always left feeling full and happy. I had dinner one one occasion and was not happy with the food. I ordered an italian chicken and pasta dish and my kids the burgers. I’ll have Italian elsewhere, but the burgers were quite good. I wouldn’t go out of my way for anything other than breakfast. If your looking for a go-to place for Sunday breakfast away from the craziness of big diners and I-HOP, this is a good choice.
