Glad I read the reviews here FIRST. I called up to ask about their services. The guy was very short with me on the phone and wanted me to come in so he COULDEXPLAINTHEIRSERVICESANDCHARGES. Why was thete even a phone number listed if I needed to come in so he could explain it to me? How much to receive a package, that’s all? He said as he rushed me of the phone, that he would explain it all when I came in because he had a customer there. Whats to explain, just a simple answer would have sufficed. It was 1000am when I called. Not 8, 9 or closing. Well, he lost a future customer, that’s for sure. Very rude. Now that I read the reviews I see it could have been a night– mare.

I liked this place for years until I found out what happens when something goes wrong. If you ship a package here and there’s an issue, they have to file the claim on your behalf. I paid $ 126 to ship a large box, which was lost. When I finally received compensation months later, it was $ 100 for insurance. When I asked Mailboxes why I didn’t receive a refund for my shipping charges, considering nothing was ever shipped and it cost more than the insurance, they stopped replying to my emails. I essentially paid them $ 26 to lose my package. I finally called UPS to see if it was their policy or Mailboxes, and UPS said that because no value was declared on the package, they were only liable up to $ 100. If a value had been declared, I would be entitled to a refund on top of insurance, according to them. Mailboxes told me they WERE declaring a value when I shipped it, but I have no recourse now. Either Mailboxes messed up the paperwork, or they couldn’t lift a finger to see my claim was process correctly. And either way, they couldn’t be bothered to explain what happened. This is not a place you want to depend on.

Won’t go here anymore… I’ve used this place for a long time to ship packages… I hate leaving boxes at my front door for FedEx and found their services convenient… I even rented a PO Box from them… But the last time I tried to ship a package, the guy flipped out at me… He was polite up until the point he knew where the package was going and what was in it, then it’s like a switch flipped in his head… I was shipping my Olympic Sporting Rifle to a specialized gunsmith for a tune up, as I’ve done many times before… I’ve owned this rifle for many years and always have it tuned by the same gunsmith… I followed the instructions given to me by State Police and by UPS — Wrap it in the original packaging and cover any logos or brand names and bring it to your local UPS shipper… It was wrapped in parcel paper(that i purchased here) as UPS requested… I even checked with my gun club’s lawyer to make sure I was doing it correctly… The clerk here didn’t mention anything until he knew where the package was going and what was inside the box… Then he turned from Dr. Jekyll into Mr. Hyde… He complained about the packaging, Federal Transfer Licensing and ranted on about gun laws in general… I then asked him to call UPS directly and verify what they told me — he refused… I don’t ever argue politics with someone, or even bring it up, especially in a professional or service environment… And I am not a political person, I am a Rifle Competitor… And I simply just want to pay for your services… He phoned me about 30 minutes later(like I said, I’ve been here for many years) claiming that he would accept it if I paid a $ 150 surcharge for next day delivery… However, I was already walking into UPS directly for shipment… They confirmed everything I mentioned and for $ 15, and no arguments, I shipped my package… Due to this guys unprofessional behavior and wrongful criticism, I will not return…
