We specialize in custom made bespoke clothing for men & women. We alter & help fit ready made clothing purchased by clients as well & we consult with our clients on their wardrobe needs.

History

Established in 1964.

Our business was started by John & Lina Cappelli, who both emigrated from Italy in the 1950s. They opened the present location in 1964. In 1986 John Cappelli Sr. passed away & the business was continued by Lina Cappelli & her son John Jr. John Jr. is now continuing the family tailoring tradition. Educated by family as well as professionals, John, creates individual patterns for each client. Custom fittings & all work done on the premises.

While my Fiancé & daughter gave me a great birthday gift of football jerseys of my 2 favorite teams — Virginia Tec Hokies& The Ohio State Buckeyes to be sewn together to make one, half & half. What a huge disappointment to have it come back looking as if it was done blindfolded as a joke! I have never been so disappointed in my life! What a horrible job by one of the mainlines most established taylors! Shame on you for promising a great jersey & delivering one ugly product! I would not recommend Them to anyone ever!

John is absolutely first-​rate: a true craftsman who does terrific work. As someone wrote in a different review, you get what you pay for. And if you have nice clothing, you should pay to get it tailored correctly. But here you won’t get over-​sold; I’ve asked about getting a certain kind of alteration and John has advised me against it because it would be too expensive.
I’ve been to more than one place in the area, and this is hands-​down the best. I recommend it to anyone who asks for tailoring advice.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any good tailors around my house, so I took to Unilocal.While I have only dropped off my suits for alterations and not seen the finished product, the experience was great. I have been to many tailors and this place seems top notch.

John is an excellent tailor. He is expensive but you get what you pay for. I’ve tried a few other tailors in the area but they’re not as good as Cappelli. For men, suit alterations cost about $ 120 and jackets about $ 90, depending on the amount of alterations. Definitely worth it, as a suit of mine fits and looks great now. The shop is very nice and the wait time for alterations is pretty quick. He does make custom clothing as well, but I have no experience with this.

I’ve always been hesitant to go to a tailor but I finally bit the bullet and went to Cappelli. So happy with my decision. They did a great job, charged a reasonable price, and had it done in just a few days. I’ll be sure to be back.

These people know what they’re doing. My mom has been coming here for years. I’m pretty sure that the only employees are a man (Cappelli) and his very sweet, very Italian mother. The only downside is that they are expensive, but I have never trusted another tailor. You try on your garment in one of two dressing rooms and they mark what needs to be done as you stand on an elevated platform in the main room. They’ll tell you if they don’t think that a garment is worth tailoring or if it won’t work out well. They’re accommodating as far as when you need to pick something up. Highly recommended if you can afford it– it’s worth it for the good work that they do.
