Wayland Public Library

I like the library for general location, cleanliness, and workability.
Now and then the employees there carry on a noisy conversation, I am not sure why, but after years of being shushed by librarians, it is rather annoying.
People come here to study or read in quiet…

I don’t have much to compare this to, since I haven’t been in a library in a million years… but I think this place is great! Went here to get day passes to museums and check out the children’s section. Really helpful staff and cute children’s area on the bottom floor.

I have to say — I absolutely love this library. The architecture is gorgeous, I love the beautiful vines covering the façade of the building. I really love the windows in the front of the building and it would be a great place to come do work or study.
I am infatuated with the comics and graphic novels section of this library. Truly fantastic. Jonathan Ames, Chris Ware, Art Spiegelman, almost every single Daniel Clowes work… it’s extremely comprehensive and superior to just about every other library’s collection in the area that I’ve explored.
The DVDs here, as well, are extremely amazing. They have a section for foreign films and a section for documentaries, as well as a general section and there’s truly a ton to choose from — from an esoteric Godard film to a new Hollywood movie like the remake of Evil Dead. There’s something for everyone.
I only detract one star because you can’t renew DVDs and you can’t return them and then immediately take them out again either– instead you have to settle for paying the 25cent daily overdue charge, and that kinda stinks.
But overall, best library ever!!!

Love this library! Nice children’s area in the lower level with two computers. They even carry the American Girl magazine here. There’s a pretty big selection of children’s DVDs and even some video games.
Check their hours but the library is open late, until 9pm sometimes.
