Specialties
I am a Harvard-trained, board-certified psychiatrist specializing in integrative psychiatry and behavioral medicine. The foundation of my practice is patient-centered care, with shared decision-making in the selection of evidence-based treatment tailored to meet an individuals needs, interests and values. Treatment options include:
— psychopharmacology (medications)
— psychotherapy (talk therapy)
— behavior therapy (e.g., Cognitive Behavior Therapy, or CBT)
— problem-solving therapy
— supervised exercise, meditation, & yoga referrals
— nutriceuticals (therapeutic nutritional supplements)
— coaching
— technology-assisted self-care (wearable monitors, mobile apps)
For relationship problems, talk therapy (individual, group therapy, and couples therapy) is likely to be used. Stress-related medical symptoms and chronic conditions often require a collaborative care approach and care coordination with other clinicians.
History
Established in 1980.
I used to practice at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital where I specialized in psychiatry consultations in general medical settings. In 1978, I moved my private practice 15 miles west to Wayland in a quiet, semi-rural setting. My home office looks out into peaceful woods where we occasionally spot wildlife. There is free, off-street parking. However, there is no public transportation nearby.
