Romeo & Juliet Mobile Pet Spa

Had my King Charles Cavalier groomed twice, the first time was great the second time not so much. I asked to have the dogs nails clipped. They weren’t. Then he cut the dogs hair in a strange way on the top of its head so it sticks up. Not the way a King Charles Cavalier should be groomed.

I contacted Romeo and Juliet dog groomers in order to get my 2 dogs groomed, we have a 13 year old handicapped mini-​dachshund and a 9 month old mini-​dachshund. We often are nervous when leaving our dogs with someone to be groomed, as this breed has the tendency to have major back issues from jumping/​using the stairs. I liked the idea of the mobile spa because I knew they would be right outside my door and wouldn’t be going up/​down stairs at a groomer.
Marco arrived on time and was very professional. He took both of our dogs onto the truck and 45 minutes later they were done! They looked and smelled amazing :-)
As it was our puppies first grooming experience, with the added complication of our handicapped dog, I know this probably was not the easiest appointment for Marco, but he was so pleasant and courteous.
He followed up with me that evening to make sure the grooming met our expectations and to confirm we were satisfied.

Marco is very busy (rightfully so) and has a long waiting list. So book your appt several weeks in advance. He also costs a little more because he has to drive to you rather than you drive the pet to his store. The thing that I liked most about Marco was his responsiveness. He would answer an email in less than one day, sometime less than an hour. We set up an appt with him more than a month in advance. He showed up right when he said he would and did a nice job. Thank you Marco.

Clearly what I have to say will echo all the other excellent reviews! Marco came to our house for our puppy’s first grooming, and did a wonderful job. Our dog is very young, and skittish and afraid of both people and trucks, but Marco was excellent with him, and our dog was decidedly unstressed at the end of the session. He was also fluffy, well-​trimmed, and clean – I wish we could do this every week! Marco provides a professional, caring service, and we look forward to having him groom our dog regularly.

If you haven’t used this service yet, you must! We couldn’t get in to our «regular» groomer so we tried R & J. They squeezed us in due to a cancellation. Marco came right to the door, was super prompt and was so great with our dogs. They look and smell fabulous. He spent extra time beautifying one of our two beagles who sheds a lot to be sure she was looking great! Best part is that the rates were reasonable and slightly less than we had been spending even with the convenience of him coming to us! This service will absolutely be our new go to!

Marco groomed my two yorkies today! I love what he did with noble my little girl, who had been in long hair forever. He took off almost all her hair leaving a short skirt and long whispy hair on her legs. Finn looks like a boy now, i love his new summer do.

Today, I had my parents puppy groomed by R&J Mobile Spa. Marco was able to pull right into the driveway and make the puppy smell just like new. This was his first groom and you could tell that Marco made him at ease. Not only was this convenient it was also reasonably priced. I would recommend R&J to anyone who has a pet!

Second time using R&J and I’ve been very happy! Marco is a really pleasant guy, arrives on time and works efficiently. We have two cats; one is easy and the other is super hard to groom. The latter had heavily matted fur and doesn’t tolerate grooming well, but Marco managed to do the job. Others with difficult cats know it is hard to find someone to work with their pets and do so cheerfully– but Marco does. And the convenience of the mobile van that sits in your driveway is not to be underestimated. I highly recommend Romeo and Juliet!

We were pleasantly surprised with how well our dogs looked and smelled. We have been trying to schedule with Marco for several years based on his reviews but our schedules never allowed. Once we finally got an appointment and saw how our dogs looked we knew we had to continue with Marco. Every pet owner knows a GREAT groomer is as valuable as your mechanic. Your pet learns to trust them and you know you’re going to get great consistent service. Our past groomer left the shop we used to go to in Lexington and we moved around from small shops to the usual places (petco and petsmart). The bigger name places are ok in a pinch but they sometimes have high turnovers with their groomers and if your pet is like ours it’s a challenge, they may not have the patience or talent to handle a jumping, nipping dog. We chose Marco because other reviews mentioned how patient he was with their pet and how their pet was now different after his expertise in grooming them. We have two cockapoos. One really mild mannered to groom and the other. well let’s just say… we need Marco more than he needs us. But after seeing the best cut we had seen in years on our babies, we KNOW that we have to keep Marco because Bella and Rhys (and their parents) can’t live without him.

Marco is magic! Our current dog Dusty is an extremely skittish rescue dog who utterly calms with Marco. And he looks fantastic after.
Marco shows up on time. His equipment is immaculate, He is an extremely courteous and pleasant man. Dusty loves him!

What a wonderful service. My Yorkie is pretty skittish and HATES going to the groomer. Marco was so gentle with him, my dog was immediately calm — and came back into the house 45 minutes later, looking adorable. This is our new grooming solution, without a doubt.

Marco was absolutely wonderful! I’ve never taken my dog to a groomer before because I wasn’t comfortable leaving my dog with a groomer for 5 hours. Marco doesn’t come to my neighborhood but I heard such good things about him and he was so nice on the phone that I drove to Waltham. He was wonderful with my dog who was completely covered in mattes. He had to completely shave my golden retriever and she still managed to look good. She smelled terrific and he even emailed me a couple days later to check on her to see if she had a reaction to the shaving because she has such sensitive skin. She didn’t have a reaction at all. Thank you Marco! I will be back!

Today was my dog first time with Romeo & Juliet Mobile Pet Spa and I’m more than happy with all services provided by Marco.
Marco discussed with me and my wife what we wanted, he gave some suggestions and we decided to do what he suggested and I can say that me and my wife and our dog are more than happy with my dog new look.
He is probably the best pet stylish we ever met and we probably will continue doing business with him for our life.

I had the good fortune to have Marco, as a groomer for my dog, BUT the misfortune to lose touch with him — when he left Brooklne Grooming. I searched, I googled — nothing. I vowed never to go back, because he was the only «right» about the place — rude staff, inaccurate pricing about fees, etc.
Finding Marco (now operating from a mobile dog-​grooming business called «Romeo and Juliet), was as pleasant of a surprise (to me and my dog) as running into an old friend. My dog LOVES Marco and I really appreciate that she always get the right cut, at my sidewalk and at a fair price. Marco managed to groom my cat Leo, who had really bad knots and matted hair,
Was extremely patient, dedicated and professional. He did an absolutely amazing job, getting rid of Leo’s knots and matted hair and suggested ways to keep his coat knot-​free. He is a wonderful man, easy to talk to and he allows you to be there with your cat or dog during grooming. Thanks to other Unilocal reviewers who helped me find this business. Marco is the best! I am very lucky to have found this business and I do wish Marco all the best!

Marco is the best!!! I adopted a cat with long fur that had seen better days. Marco did any amazing job evening out his fur and trimming his nails. I was shocked that my cat even allowed him to do it. Marco is wonderful with animals. I can’t recommend him enough! I’m so thankful to the other Unilocal reviewers for helping me choose this place.
Oh and I also love that he comes to your home and allows you to be with your pet while they are being groomed =)

Another phenomenal performance by Marco, all four are runway ready once again!!! It’s funny, I cant believe I used to drop my dogs off to be groomed, god only knows what they went threw, they were always stressed upon return, never mind taking them in, oh my god it was terrible, they would be frantic trying to get back to me, my heart broke every time, and then, the wait in line to lay, eagerly awaiting the return of my dogs, couldn’t stand it, I felt like going back there and grabbing them myself! NEVER would I do this to them again, I couldn’t if i wanted to, not with blind dog, no way. It’s not just the convenience you get, its the humanity, combined with professionalism, its a rare quality these days, everyone is always rushing to get from A to B, including myself. If you listen to your animals (no I’m not a lunatic) they will tell you, its very simple. Even my little Chiwinni, Marco was able to pick him right up as if they were old pals, that my dear, is an altruistic natural with animals.
One more little piece of information to consider, before I found Marco, when my Golden went blind, I asked the groomers if I could be present while they groomed her, she has a triple coat, so its an absolute necessity during the hot summer months, ever one I called said «No, we cant allow that» except Petco, which was out of the question after they almost lost her and had to shut down the store, yes, a 100 pound dog was able to slip out of the area running lose in the store, anyways, I found that very concerning, I cant watch you groom my dog? Are you kidding me? Why in gods name would that be, I can only guess its due to the lack of empathy they return to a scared, or handicap dog, they dint have the time. Marco spends over and hour with her, understands when she is tiring, when my dogs come out of the mobile spa, they are happy, excited, and giddy, in fact they wait at the window tails a wagging, like oh my god when is it going to be my turn! What is taking so long, I want to get in there and sniff the hell out of everything, and where is Marco, I’m next!!!

They say the cairn terrier is a «natural breed.» Our cairn has huge floppy messy ears. Marco did something amazing and now we can see black accents. A definite Liza Doolittle transformation.

My vet kept telling me to pay around $ 500 to get my Chi/Yorkie’s teeth cleaned. He said due to her size theres no guarantee she would wake up from the anesthesia. I held off.
After Maia’s first haircut with Marco he gave me a great deal and some tips as well. She is small and picky about who touches her like all dogs, but she can now trust him to clean her teeth. The cleaner they are the longer she lives and that’s all I need :)
Almost time for another haircut and I have to say I don’t want to use anyone else!

I am very pleased with this service. For roughly the same prices as our local dog groomer, Marco shows up at our house and grooms our 2 dogs. They respond very well to him and he does an excellent job. I honestly don’t understand why people go through the hassle of driving to and from a groomer, and making their dog wait in cages, when they can be groomed quickly and beautifully right in front of their homes.
