History
Established in 2014.
Waxhaw Kid Coders was founded by software developer and technical trainer, Ken Adelglass in April 2014 to teach kids how to program computers in the Charlotte suburb of Waxhaw, North Carolina.
In the summer of 2014, the company began with half-day STEM summer camps teaching game programming. Following that summer fall workshops in game programming in Scratch were added. In the summer of 2015, Lego WeDo for 7 — 9 year old students and Lego Robotics (Beginners — Advanced) for 10 — 14 year old students were added and are now a regular part of programs taught throughout the year.
The company is constantly adding new technology to its workshops and summer camps and has since added multiple robotics, digital electronics and computing platforms and languages to give students a well-rounded background in creating and problem solving using technology. The emphasis is on providing a fun and engaging learning experience for young students.
