This place just has such a weird vibe. It’s a standard daiquiri shop by new orleans standards but at night it’s also VERY brightly lit and for some reason attracts a very rowdy crowd. I mean like brosephs taking off their wife beaters and just announcing that they are looking to fight, kind of crowd. I’ve been here probably 4 – 5 times and it is always the same. No idea why. So. Weird.

I think we may be spoiled living in NOLA b/c daq shops elsewhere have some strange laws. This daq shop has a sign posted at the front door that says NOALCOHOLORCONTAINERSAREALLOWEDINOROUT — STATELAW. Seriously you can’t take it with you even if you’re not driving? I still took it with me even after the bartender noticed I was walking away with the daq in hand. The bartender said, «You know you can’t leave with that!». I replied, «It’s ok. I’m not driving.» Ok I fibbed but c’est la vie. I ordered a large daq with an extra shot and it came out to $ 14.50! That is quite pricey for a large daq. On top of that there are only 8 flavors to choose from. I won’t be returning to this daq shop and it will be hard for me to go to any daq shop in MS if they are that strict about alcoholic beverages being in vehicles. Of course there is no drive-thru here which is a big letdown as I always prefer drive-thrus.
