I come here every time I’m in town. The Jerk Chicken sandwich is better than anything that I’ve tried back home in the bay area. The chicken is juicy and flavorful. The onion sauce that comes in the sandwich is an amazing blend of sweet and umami. I was just in Seattle two weeks ago and the Jerk Chicken sandwich here can hold its own if pitted against the Carribean Sandwich at Paseo’s (in terms of awesomeness). The ingredients were fresh and the sandwich pretty healthy.
The owners and staff here are some the most friendly people I’ve ever met in the restaurant business and will greet and talk to you like you’re a part of family. They are always chatting with the regulars about their lives. I met Tina (one of the staff members) and she made me feel like I was right at home.
Today I’m heading back to California and they were extra accommodating when I told them that I wanted to get two Jerk Chicken platters to bring home for my friends to try. They separated the sauces and made sure to prepare the plates in the best way for me to travel with it.
I love this place and can’t wait for the next excuse to bring me back for more of their Jerk chicken. Actually, the Jerk chicken sandwich alone is enough to bring me back to Wisconsin.
tl;dr — Jerk chicken sandwich. It will change your life.

Love, love, love this restaurant. I first discovered it 5 or so years ago for lunch. We try and make a trek here at least a few times per year.
The staff is very friendly, and I feel like I’m joining them for their family’s meal.
Inside is small but clean.
Food is always satisfying and leaves me wanting more. Usually get some type of appetizer. The hummus is usually my top choice. Always get the falafel sandwich, which I love. I’d love if they would use red onions, but thats my taste preference. My husband usually gets the gyro which he always enjoys. Our 20 month old son has loved everything he’s tried here.
Wish they would open a second location further west!

Went there for the first time today — had a gyro supreme. I’ve had a lot of gyros, this was one of the best. I can’t believe I haven’t stopped in here before. Will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful neighborhood Greek restaurant, love the chicken pita and fries

On average we do the work lunch at Cosmos café every month to six weeks and I was noticing that a rare burger is hit or miss. I don’t like to post pictures of the same meal over and over but I do the burgers mostly for the work lunch.
After noticing inconsistent rare burgers, see my rare patty melt picture for an example I asked for an extra rare burger to insure a rare burger and it looked like the patty melt picture. I mentioned to the woman who takes my order that the rere burgers are hit or miss and I would stop ordering them and make other choices and she said they would be fixed. When I placed my order today before I could get it out she specifically asked if the burgers are are getting cooked to my liking and I told her no because they are hit or miss and I would not even try to get a rare burger anymore. I explained that I would just order other items off the menu from today forward and she insist on one more chance and she would would not charge me for it. I explained to her that it was not necessary because it will not affect our business relationship and that I would still be a frequent guest but she still insisted so I accepted it. Well she says it will be perfect and I have to call her and let her know this visit went today and I said I would.
When I picked up our lunch she was slammed with orders and I was like great the cook is slammed and the kitchen was just crazy so my hopes of a rare burger was diminishing because there was so much food getting cooked at once and it might get caught up in the crazyness and cooked too long. The cook stops to talk to me and says 15 seconds per side and when the box is opened my burger will run away and I said I hope so.
Ok I think they understand now how I want my burger cooked and it was on point today so I called back and told the woman what ever the cook did today is what I want done for all future burgers that I ordered.
The fact that as a regular guest who expressed issues with rare and who was totally willing to keep patronizing the restaurant but just have a different item was not acceptable to them and that they went out of there way to change my order today and ask my to give them one last chance to serve me what I really wanted and not just pick an alternative for the previous short comings was very cool and that speaks volumes for them. After explaining that the rare would not be a deal breaker for us was not acceptable to them and that they were dam sure I was going to get the issue fixed from this point forward was cool.
My final thoughts is that I was informed that they were very slammed today and my order time was going to be longer than usual from the start and with following up on previous issues that I didn’t even mention today that they were still going to impress me today. They did get it right as they said they would, nice job on a very crazy lunch day for the effort to fix my issues.

I usually bring my lunch to work, however today was carry-​out day, so I was searching for something new and unique. Had a taste for a Gyros, stumbled upon the Cosmos Café, only six minutes from work.
Wow! What a find, I ordered the Gyros Platter and it was delicious and way closer than Oakland Gyros from work

Great little place great food best hummus I have had ever! Will be back for sure. And they have parking in tosa.

I ordered the gyro combo plate. Very tasty and filling. The staff is very friendly and makes your experience a little more enjoyable. Definitely will be back!

After 3 visit’s it’s time for a review.
First off i love that they actually offer parking, seems many places in that area don’t have any customer parking, so for this place to have a lot is awesome.
The Staff is all super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
The Food is terrific, i’ve said for quite sometime that Oakland Gyro’s has the best Gyro’s in the Milwaukee area… but i’m sorry Oakland, you’ve been replaced, the gyro’s are better, the tzatziki sauce is fresh. the fries are great, The Jerk Chicken wrap is awesome, it’s one of those «out of town foods» as i called it that you would be willing to come back to the town just to get some of it. Same goes for the Greek Fries… damn now i’m hungry.

This place is a small, unassuming, family owned Greek restaurant. But really, it may be a small place but the food is BIG TIME AMAZING. I’m almost sad that I waited so long to eat there. The staff is so friendly, the food is out of this world. I plan on making this my new go-​to lunch spot.

Awesome little Greek café. Hubs and I were trying yet another low carb diet and we explained our restrictions to the owner/​cook and he whipped up two amazing flavorful dishes for both of us.
The lady who manages the cash register was such a sweetheart. We chatted for a while about all sorts of stuff.
Great service, great price. Will definitely be back!

I was short in saying the gyros were great. Well deserves a revisit when around.
And I also remember it as Berry’ s custard. With laundry right next door.
The Berry family lived in the far west and south of Tosa. Right by State Fair.

This place was great and the service was awesome. The only complaint I can of is the dining area was small but that’s what made it more of a family dining experience. Enjoyed talking to the sister in law of the owner who took orders and busted tables.
The food was Greek fare and very good. If we are ever back in the area we would defiantly stop in again.

On Sunday my husband and I stopped by for a late lunch, not realizing that they close early on Sundays. We walked in before we realized they had closed a few minutes earlier. However, as we quickly realized they were closed by all of the chairs being up and we were turning to head back out when they said «Wait! We can make you food to go if you’d like!» and I was definitely not going to turn down that offer.
While many places may have sent us on our way when we walked in after closing they instead offered us their delicious food and chatted with us while we waited. Cosmos is the best.

I’m really sorry I introduced my co workers to the Cosmos café because our Friday group lunch always has at least one person request Cosmos every Friday, I like variety for the work lunch.
I did the patty melt this time because I have tried most of the other meat options. The services is always great and the woman is super friendly.
The patty melt was looking good and smelled amazing. They do patty melts a little different and I didn’t think I would like it at first. I first noticed the good light colored rye bread with the caraway seeds and the onions didn’t look like your classic grilled onions. Most patty melts I have had were made with American cheese and this one looked like it had cheddar and American on it.
The first bite was really good and it all worked well. I did like how the caraway seed texture and the slight crunch of the onions pulled the sandwich together. The patty had to be at least 8oz because it was big. The bread was nicely toasted on the outside with the warm soft/​melty meat and cheese on the inside. I really liked the onions because they were more like steamed than fried with some crunch left in them and the taste/​texture/​smell instantly brought White Castle into my head because I really like the White Castle onions.
Overall I ended up really liking the patty melt with the good rye and the onions so I hope this is how it will always be served because I would get one again. Cosmos never lets me down and I can see why the people at work always want to go here.

Cosmos rocks! Affordable prices for excellent food. The staff is engaged and helpful. Really nice variety on the menu. The specials will delight you. This is my favorite Greek Diner.

Used to be obsessed with the Gyro Hash. On a trip back home for the holidays, I tried to order it and they said they don’t have it anymore. Pretty disappointing.

This is our favorite hole-​in-​the-​wall Mediterranean restaurant in the MKE area. It’s run by a genuine Greek family who are super welcoming. The spanakopita, Greek fries and jerk chicken are THE BEST. The food is super affordable with takeout, or stop in for a casual meal.

This place is a gem. The spanakopita, chicken gyro, and greek fries were large, affordable, delicious portions. The spanakopita is more spinach than feta-​y (which i prefer) and the chicken was flavorful and extremely tender.
Service was excellent and friendly. When I went, the place was not busy (no more than 2 – 4 other people dining). It still took ~10 min for the food to come out, which was a good sign telling me my food was cooked to order.

I really like this little spot. I don’t know if I’d say it’s my favorite gyro in Milwaukee but it’s definitely up there. The Caribbean burger and the jerk chicken pita is also worth trying.
Also the staff is amazing. You can tell it’s a family business and they genuinely seem to enjoy your company and your business. It makes the experience 10x better!

It’s a bargain gem of Tosa. Reasonable pricing with tasty eats. The Jerk Pita will not disappoint. Greek fries are a fun side to share. The family that runs the place gives off a warm welcoming vibe.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and our second family visit. Nothing has changed from our first visit. Awesome food at reasonable prices with awesomely cool people in a clean and family friendly environment. Jerk chicken, Mediterranean burger, Gyros supreme, Greek Fridays and more, were all on our lunch table today. All of our food was uniformly hot, fresh and excellent. You could tell they care about their food, how it tastes, how it is presented, and its value. They obviously care about their customers and want you to feel welcome and to enjoy your food.

Cheap, quaint, local, friendly, delicious. This place is fantastic if you’re in the mood to get something to eat quickly with no fuss. The guy working the counter chatted with us like we were regulars.
I had the Jerk Chicken Gyro, and I highly highly recommend it. I was wary of it, since it’s not a Jamaican joint, but other Unilocal reviews steered me in that direction. No Regrets!
We will most definitely be back.

My first time to Cosmo’s I came in to an empty restaurant and asked the man behind the register what he recommended. He confidently said «the jerk chicken», so, I went for it. This little chicken pita beauty did not disappoint.
The jerk chicken was a really nice mix of spice, savor and freshness. The meat portions were generous and filling, complimented by the bed of fresh veggies in the bottom of the pita. I loved every bite and will be coming back for more.

For Greek food in Wisconsin, outside of a church festival, this is a great spot. And I’m going to be a brat and say that I’m Greek so this is one of those times where I get to throw my weight around for this review. The gyros are absolutely delicious and the tzatziki sauce tasted like my grandma used to make. I wasn’t a huge fan of the rice pilaf that came with the sandwich, but that’s ok. The saganaki was also fantastic, again, just like I’m used to. I can’t believe I can get Greek food so close to my house, so I couldn’t be happier.

Jen W. must not know how to order because my wife and I had two great lunches at Cosmos. We were there slightly after lunch on a Thursday and we started with a hummas plate and tabooli, then ordered the Falafel and a Gyro sandwiches for our meals.
The place was staffed by two. Daughter (owner) and father (cook.) They helped us pick what to eat and then we talked a bit about recipes and then we enjoyed he heck out of our two really well made sandwiches.
This ain’t Chicago or Minneapolis, so finding a decent Falafel is not all that simple. Cosmos Café does is well in a small, warm setting.
Highly recommended.

This place confused me, I stopped in late-​morning thinking it was a breakfast place since on the sign outside, the two «O» letters in the word «Cosmos» are made to look like sunny-​side up eggs. No breakfast menu exists here. That was kind of misleading. No big deal, I am having a pita and fries for breakfast I guess.
I’ve been here twice and got the Jerk Chicken Pita and the Falafel Pita. The jerk chicken pita was really good, the meat was tender and juicy and the fries are crispy. I wasn’t too crazy about the falafel here though, I found it to be dry and bland. I would definitely get something else next time. I really appreciate the freshness of the ingredients, the tomatoes especially were firm, juicy and fresh both times. Not all soggy and shitty like they tend to be at many other places.
The people who work there are really, really nice and service is very good.
Overall, very good fast-​food with friendly service. I think Cosmos Café beats the shit out of Oakland Gyros.

Great little Greek spot right in the heart of Tosa and the bubbling up-​and-​coming area on North Ave. Cosmos is tucked back and you might miss it if you aren’t paying attention.
Nestled in an unassuming little shop, this place is the real deal. The guys in back were hollering back and forth which orders were up and what was next, I heard «SPANIKOPITA» yelled a few times, and I tried Slouvaki for the first time. They described it being more «brandy» flavored than I thought it was, but for anyone with a salt-​tooth over a sweet-​tooth, this sodium laced cheese slice is the app for you.
Their gyros are stuffed with high quality meats, and served traditionally with tomatoes and onions — a bottle of tzatziki on the side. The pita is thick and warm, and the tomatoes are crisp and cold. Lots of families were coming in and taking food to-​go, thinking I might follow their lead and make this my new go-​to greek spot.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!! Go eat here, they ve got the MEAT, LOL. their gyro is second to none, their jerk chicken sandwich is out of this world, and great hummus as well. I took my in laws here last week, they wany to give it another shot. This is my go to place for gyro in Milwaukee.

Good food and great service! The salads are amazing just as all of the daily lunch specials.
In the short amount of time between ordering, eating and walking out the door you’ll have already become family. You’ll be hard pressed not to get to know the owners by name and be exchanging more than the typical lunchtime pleasantries as this place is so much like having lunch at a friends place.
Definitely a great place to add some variety to your lunchtime repertoire.
