South Park is a park area with a playground and pavilion up by the parking lot. You go down a little path, and you come to the beach, which is on Shadow Lake. The playground is okay, a little older equipment. I’ve never rented out the pavilion, so I’m not aware of the prices or amenities. It dies get rented out quite a lot, though, so it can’t be that bad. The beach is fairly big, and kind of on a hill. In the deep part, there’s a dock with a couple diving boards for the older kids. I think you have to pass a mini swimming test in order to go out there. There’s a medium-sized slide for medium-sized kids. And there’s a little slide for the toddlers. They have changing rooms and bathrooms, and also sell freeze-pops in the building. The one irritating thing is the constant whistle-blowing and yelling of the lifeguards. Which is the main reason we don’t really go here anymore. It doesn’t make for a very peaceful day at the beach.
