Island Glow Tan

PROS: Under recent new ownership, this place has improved. The rooms are now clean, provide deodorant, delicious smelling body spray from Victoria’s Secret and hand sanitizer. They have just recently added an extra mega bed that I really like. The acrylics on the beds and bulbs in the bed seemed to be getting changed on a timely, as necessary basis. The owner is very nice and friendly. Bright colored tanning rooms.
CONS: I only gave this salon 3 stars because of the advertised prices and what you actually end up paying. You could be quoted $ 50 for a package over the phone or see the white board in the salon, but this price is pre-​tax and does not include a «tanning tax» of 10%. So ADD 17% tax to any prices you have been quoted. In my opinion, the salon should advertise the TOTAL PACKAGE PRICE that includes all applicable taxes.
The reception area is dark and has a gloomy feel to it. Dark red walls sponge painted gray with dark furniture and carpeting. I’ve scheduled an appointment and had to wait 10 – 15 minutes because a late appointment was allowed to still get in. It would also be nice if they provided a moisturizer for «post tan» like some of the salons I have been to.
Overall though — not a bad place to tan. It’s clean, the bulbs are good and you’ll leave with a tan. :O)
