First time having my vehicle serviced here. Chose this place based on the Google and Unilocal reviews. They went above and beyond. Very fast. Reasonable price. I needed one thing fixed and was charged for that one thing but it seems as though they fixed 3 other things as well. AMAZING. I won’t be going anywhere else to have my car serviced.

The owner Ted Petrick runs a really good shop, and cares about his customers.
After six months sitting dead in my driveway, I took my 230K mile car in to have the blown head gaskets replaced, as well as replacing the water pump, timing belts, spark plugs and serpentine belts. While he understood that I was anxious to get my car back, he was adamant about making sure he thoroughly tested my car to ensure the work was complete. Upon his inspection, he found a problem with the idler control valve that I had forgotten about, and he also discovered a major leak in my rear brake lines. He generously replaced the idler control valve for free, and for a very reasonable price did the extra work to fix the lines. Knowing he was looking out for me means a lot. I highly recommend his shop.
The only thing that could be improved upon is a little better communication with customers about the status of their vehicle. But given how many cars were in his shop, and how small of staff he has, I’m inclined to think his focus was on just getting those cars done. I can appreciate that.

I moved to Illinois at the end of last summer and at that point I wanted to try and take on my own oil changes and maybe learn more about my car’s mechanics. My father who is a mechanic always took care of my cars but he never wanted to teach me much about it. I realized that I couldn’t take it on all my own mainly b/​c I didn’t have the garage and tools to do so.
I looked around through Google and Unilocal to find a decent mechanic which is something that is really hard to find. I found Pro Auto Tech and was impressed with their credentials. I took my car in for an oil change, brake replacement, and to diagnose a strange noise it had been making. They found that my brake hoses were cracking which explained why I had been losing brake fluid and they told me that honestly I didn’t need to change the brake pads immediately that it could wait. But the hoses were more important.
I have been in a few times since to fix up some other repairs on my car as it has a lot of mileage on it. I feel like these guys really do care about their customers and will go out of their way to do good work while charging fairly. I’m going to continue coming here for any mechanical issues or just for the regular tuneup.

I give Pro Auto Tech 5 stars because of their service, and their knowledge in taking care of your car without trying to rip you off. I was one of those people who only took my car to the dealership, but after meeting Ted Petrick the owner, the dealership will no longer get my money. I have taken both of my cars in to be fixed and I will say that I have been satisfied everytime. When my car couldn’t pass emissions i took it there and they got it working perfectly and it passed. This is not ur average auto mechanic he cares about his customers. Tell him Renea sent u, he is truly an awesome guy an his workers are fantastic as well!
