Wendy Barut was blessed with meeting Pat Ghimengi through a friend who needed her furniture touched up. She was so inspired by the quality of restoration that Pat’s business was able to provide and wanted to learn more. While having a degree in graphic arts and design, Wendy quickly adjusted her education to start learning everything she could about the home restoration business through Ghimengi’s knowledge. After a month of this apprenticeship, Pat confronted Wendy that she was terminally ill, and offered her to buy and run the company. Seeing this as a rare opportunity, Wendy agreed and purchased the company in 2007. 18 months after owning the company, Pat passed away. From restoring a kitchen, family heirlooms, she feels that the biggest reward is helping people improve and restore a unique piece of their everyday lives.

I can’t thank this company enough. They fixed our kitchen cabinet door face and saved us the cost of total cabinet replacement. We moved into our home and noticed one of the cabinet doors was warped and the face was cracked/​peeling. We were in a tough spot because if we could not repair this one door, then all of the cabinets would have to be replaced. The previous owners must have cheaply remodeled with discontinued cabinets. Everywhere we called and asked we were told we could not get a replacement door because our cabinets were no longer in existence.
I called the Refinishing Touch and after speaking with Wendy I felt confident that they could do the job. They originally tried getting me a door and the profile did not match (remember cabinets have been discontinued). I am a perfectionist and could not settle for anything, but a perfect match. They could tell I was not pleased and decided to go in a different direction by repairing the old one. They want to have a satisfied customer.
They will work with you until your happy and in my opinion I think this is what good customer service is. My cabinet door looks brand new and perfect. I could not ask for more. I would go back in a heartbeat!!! I wish I kept the before picture of the door because it was warped, discolored and cracked. The first company I went to even destroyed it further. Refinishing Touch reveneered the door and viola. I am a happy customer.
