Had them put in a new pressure tank, piping and switch. Everything turned out great and they were super nice people. I would definitely recommend them.

These guys are the best! They put the well in at our home 25 years ago and it is still going strong! Since then we have used them for several projects all with superior results.
Last night the well went out at our rental property. I called the emergency number at 7:30 pm, and spoke to Scotty who agreed to meet me the next morning at 7:30 am. Mark and his guy came out a few hours later and replaced everything, My tenants only had no water for one night. They are professional and responsive!

Our well had quit, and I had performed some preliminary diagnostics to determine it was the well pump that was at fault.
I had purchased a new pump from Menards to attempt the switch out myself, however the old pump had been in so long that it was nearly impossible to move by hand. So I contacted Peter Snelten & Sons, and spoke with Peter directly. He quoted me $ 400 to remove the pump and replace it.
A crew arrived same day, and got to work quickly. I spent some of the time out there talking with them, however they asked me to check the pressure on my bladder tank… I can only suspect this was to get rid of me so they can being their fraud.
So I set up the bladder tank, and went back out. The owner’s brother or whatever «Bill» I think was walking up to the door to explain to me that I can only get 2.5 GPM out of my well at best case, they also told me my well was only 25′ deep when the USGS drilling summary clearly shown 37′ deep.
They ended up placing a 3GPM restrictor to the pipe to «reduce the flow so I don’t run the well dry», however when they tested the flow rate, the pump was still over 5′ higher since the pitless adapter was never put into play. This tells me they do not know how to gauge the water level.
Once they got everything into place, it ended up being $ 650, and Bill told me that «I’m an owner too, and that’s how much it is. Whatever Peter told you, he was wrong»
Then he «adjusted» my well switch to the «proper pressures», and showed me inside that my water would cut out if I leave it running and that it was an issue. I would have to pay $ 1000 more for them to clean out the well (which should have been done anyway as part of the pull/​replace).
After they left, I verified the switch settings to find out he set it to 33psi, and it should have been 38psi. This explained the water issues where it would cut out, as the bladder tank would run out of water while the switch was deadbanding. Once I adjusted the switch, the water pressure came back without issue and we haven’t ran out since.
We have noticed a marked increase in sediment that, despite multiple filter changes, has not went away. We can only suspect that they damaged the well casing while I went inside the house to fix the bladder tank. This will end up killing my pump prematurely, which I suppose is what they want since I didn’t buy the pump from them.
I have called back a few times to understand why I received this service at a marked up rate, and I do not receive calls back.
While I do not know of reputable well company in the area as of yet, this is one you should run away from. They try to use scare tactics, and I believe they cause malicious damage to emulate more serious issues.

One of my renters called me to say that they did not have any water. I called Peter Snelten & Sons and they came out the next day and took care of the issue promptly. At first they thought a new pump would be necessary, but once they explored further they discovered it was only an issue with the wires. They repaired the wires and charged us only for a service call. My tenant thanked them for their honesty. They now have a new customer for life!

Had them out to check on a leak I had. Similar to the other experience, right away they saw an issue with my pressure tank (waterlogged) that they installed 12 yrs ago. Their replacement model is inferior to other options and their prices are extremely high.
Not to mention that they didn’t even try to repair the existing one. I drained it and then re pressurized it and it is no longer water logged. It has held for more than two weeks now. These tanks need maintenance and they didn’t even recommend that or even try anything for their exorbitant service fee where they just looked over things.
For what is worth, others have told me that they are really good with wells. But their crazy high quote for a pressure tank has soured me on them.

This is my first time to write review, but I felt I am obliged to do so!
Will never use their service again! They don’t respect customer, did not complete the work as they quoted me, and had to return one the second day, and they upsell expense products that are not even needed!
We live in Long Grove with private well, with a need to replace a malfunctioning pressure switch, gauge, shut off valves and pipes in between. Called them up and came out on the same day.
I was at work and my in-​law called me saying that per the technician, we need to replace the water tank ASAP because it rusted out from bottom, which costs extra $ 1200! (when I call back their office, Peter Snelten said it should be $ 1000) The guy try to sell their fiberglass water tank because «it never rust», and said the life span of a water tank is 8 – 12 year (as I later found out, that’s probably true for fiberglass tank but metal tank last twice as much). I did not replace it right away because I don’t like to be rushed to make a decision without any research.
I am so glad I did not fall into their sales tricks! I called 4 different well drill companies around, and all told me to stay away from fiberglass water tank due to its infamous quality issues because they are cheaply built, over priced, and expect to last HALF of time a blue stainless steel tank does! The quote I got is anywhere from $ 675 — $ 850 for replacing my water tank (v.s. $ 1200 quoted by one of the young Sneltens on site), and all with 7-​year waranty instead of 5-​year offered by Snelten.
Based on my research and conversation with other well service providers, I truly believe Snelten was using scare tactics to sell me their fiberglass water tank. The rust of my metal tank is caused by condensation of moisture in basement, it’s outside, not inside. For metal tank, the water is saved in rubber bladder, and will not in contact with metal at all. If there are any rust, it is normally not rust from inside (unless the bladder breaks, in which case your tank will not function), but just surface rust that can be cleaned and treated. If they are in business since 1920s, they should know it better than any consumers. Based on conversation with other well service providers, I ran some tests, and it looks my water tank is functioning well.
That’s not the end of it. After I return from work, I found out that they only replaced pressure switch, but not the rusty gauge which was part of the repair and was paid for (FYI: Menards have the pressure switch and guage set for $ 20). I thought I also requested to replace drainage valve and main shut off valve, but they only replaced the main shut off valve.
I called Peter, he was surprised that the gauge was not replaced even though it was quoted and paid for, but would send someone to replace it. I told him that I thought I mentioned two valves need to be changed (the one right above and right below the gauge), but they only replace one. Then Peter shocked me with the reply, «Don’t start with that CRAP!». What? Is this the way the business owner talks to their customers???
This is the last time I would use their service. If they charge more for their service and products, you would expect better service and products, but my experience with them is very opposite!

These guys came and pulled out our well pump and replaced it and made it look easy.
All this was after a previous contractor came out and struggled with it for a couple of hours without success. They didn’t recognize the well cap type, they didn’t have the technique to connect to it and pull it out, and they didn’t have the correct seals to use with the replacement pump even if they were able to pull the old one out.
Peter Snelton & Sons recognized the well cap model right away, had well-​rehearsed technique to pull out the sticky old pump, and had the right seals on hand to use with the new pump. They were knowledgeable pros.
When I needed an inside plumber I called these guys for a recommendation because I trust their judgement now.
