Wonderfull service and a great veterinarian. Makes house calls which is so much better for our pets. Just had our dogs teeth cleaned. So much easier then taking the dog to an office. Fees are very reasonable.
About 2 years ago we had to have our dog Magy put down. She passed in her own bed with all of her family around. It was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. It would have been so traumatic and excruciating painful for her if we had to load her in the car and take to a veterinary office. Tom explained every thing to us and what to expect in the process. I think Magy knew what was happening, was ready for it, and died peacefully and comfortably in her own home.

Dr. Schwarzmann has gone out of his way to make sure my 95 year old father’s cat is having the best quality of life in his also advanced age. He makes house calls, my dad loves to see him and to know Leo, the cat, is in good hands. Thanks Dr. S!

After several futile attempts to wrangle my sick cat into a carrier I was well past the panic stage, convinced I would never get him to the vet. Then I found Dr. Schwarzmann’s number. Prepared to hear «Well, maybe I can come out next Friday,» as I had from other vets, I was startled when he said «What’s your address?» «You’re coming now?» I asked. This was unheard of in my experience and things just got better. I had warned him my cat is afraid of everyone and for reasons as mysterious as his murky past, hates to be picked up. True to form, Smokey was cowering in a corner hoping he was invisible when the doctor arrived. He responded to Dr. Tom unexpectedly well as he was able to coax him out, pick him up and diagnose him with minimal stress for both of us.
Smokey recovered quickly and Dr. Tom called daily to check on him which was very kind. His empathy for animals is apparent in the rapport he quickly establishes. My home visit worked out so well I asked him to come back and give Smokey his overdue vaccination. Dr Tom’s compassionate approach combined with extremely reasonable fees makes him the only vet to call when my pet needs him.

This week was one of the hardest I’ve had in a long time as I lost Moby, my dog and best friend of 14years. The two things that made it bearable and something I will actually want to remember in time were the loving support of my wife and the beautiful presence of Dr. Tom.
About a week before Moby’s last day, I recall meeting some people in the dog park. I told them about my dog and how his last days were coming to a close. They suggested I talk to Dr. Tom. They said that his care, professionalism, and empathy were something like «the best things a priest is supposed to be.»
Personally, I resonated with the idea of a «final vet» being a priest. I’m not sure if it’s because of some fond memories of good priests, because I wanted ritual, or it just felt like something I could trust.
Ultimately, that’s my experience and what I needed. For you, whether you need a friend, an angel, a dog lover, or a ferryman to take your pet across the river Styx, Dr. Tom is that person.
Dr. Tom came to our house, patiently explained every step in the process, was gentle and sweet with Moby. He loved my dog and my family for the short time we spent together. Grace, compassion, professionalism, empathy, care, respect. These words have all be used in other Unilocal reviews for Dr. Tom, and I heartily agree with all of them.

Dr. Tom came yesterday and helped us with our old German Shepherd, Romo. After 14 years, we wanted Romo to pass on comfortably at home, but he deteriorated much more quickly than expected and needed help on a Sunday when our normal vet is closed.
He was wonderfully sensitive to how hard this was for us, gentle with Romo and gave us the time and space to express our grief at loosing our old friend.
We would recommend Dr. Tom to anyone, he’s wonderful.

This man is an angel. My dog, all of the sudden, reached a point where he could no longer go on. He was in too much pain to move. At an absolutely horrible time, Thomas came all the way to Brookdale to help my dog pass. Not only were we unable to move my dog, but I wanted him to be in his home when this day came. It’s more comfortable and less scary for the dog.
Thomas is a compassionate, respectful man. I am incredibly impressed by him and value his experience and guidance. If I lived closer, I’d make him my vet moving forward with the next dog.
He’s a remarkable man.
I would have paid almost anything for him to come to my house and help my beloved dog.
By the way, it was a Sunday and, as often happens, it was last minute. He was at my house within 4 hours.

This morning we needed a mobile vet to to Bonny Doon to euthanise our best friend. Our dog MYK. Thomas called me back and was here within a hour and a half. His professional knowledge and his manner was awesome. He explained everything he was doing and was very kind to our dog and us. He assured that we were doing the right thing and that matters will only worsen, and our dog would be in more pain as time went on. Thanks Thomas.

«Dr. Tom» as we know him has been our pets’ veterinarian for as long as I can remember. He is down-​to-​earth, friendly, confident and professional, and he is good at putting your mind at ease (or sometimes, sadly, softening the blow when there is reason you cannot be put at ease).
Having the vet come to the house is SO much less stressful on the animals than bundling them up in cages and taking them somewhere. Recovery is simplified when the animal wakes up in its own familiar home.
In the event that euthanasia is required, having the ability to put the animal down in its home instead of stressing it further seems kind to me.
He can and does even neuter male cats at home! Sometimes you get to assist in the procedure :-) (only if you are OK with that, of course!). Vaccinations, no problem. Treating bites and cuts, same thing… great service, quick, will talk to you extensively about post-​care.
He has shown us proper wound care techniques, including how to flush a drain, and even how to administer subcutaneous injections when needed.
If the animal needs more than a stitch or two or needs an x-​ray, cast, etc. he will advise you where to go for further care.
I just cannot say enough about him! Highly recommended!
