Numotion

Numotion (formerly ATG rehab) sold me a manual wheelchair for $ 3,485.76 a couple of years ago (base price $ 1752), paid out of pocket. The wheelchair was for my father, who had suffered a severe stroke and couldn’t walk. At the time, he had access to a wheelchair though the nursing home, but I wanted to get him a really comfortable wheelchair instead of the rickety one at the nursing home. I wanted someone to visit him in person to measure it so it would fit right, so I count acted a local company, even though I knew the prices were higher than online. Representative Eric Wilhelm came out to measure him, and assured me that the fit would be right. He talked me into a positioning back that was an extra $ 1,000 and told me my dad would be most comfortable with it, as well as lots of other extras. Sadly, despite being custom measured, the chair was too small for my dad, and he was never comfortable in it. We went back to using the wheelchair at the facility. I contacted Eric numerous times, trying to get something else for my dad, but never really got a response. My dad is now totally bedridden, and I just brought the wheelchair home. I thought I could recoup some of the cost, but I looked up the price online and see that the base price for the same wheelchair, a Breezy 600, is around $ 600. This just confirms my feeling of being totally ripped off by ATG Rehab. Apparently, the company has a new name now, but I hope other consumers won’t end up paying so much more for nothing different than they can get online. I think most of the time insurance companies are paying, so there is no incentive to keep costs down, which is very unfortunate.
