Fresh Prep Kitchens

My experience with Jody was perfect from start to finish. She was extremely efficient, professional and cooperative. She fulfilled everything that she promised — delivered excellent food, just when we were told to expect it — we will use her over and over.

I am shocked by these reviews! The food is amazing! We haven’t had anything we haven’t loved. The convenience of putting the meals together is great. So easy. Jody is so nice. I asked her for organic vegetables and she made sure that request was honored no problem. Excellent customer service in my opinion. She drops off the food. Explains them. Goes over cooking instructions. I cannot say enough good things about FPK. It’s also cheaper then our weekly grocery bill if you do the monthly options.

Our family has been getting meals from FPK for a few weeks now. We have greatly appreciated the convenience, the meals, and the interactions with Jody, the owner.
As a working mom with a small baby with lots of needs, these meals have really been a lifesaver. Many of the meals require very little or no hands-​on prep time (e.g., just put the lasagna into the oven for 30 minutes) so I can just come home, put the meal into the oven, and do other things like feed or play with baby until dinner is ready. I cannot overstate how important the convenience factor has been for our family. We enjoy the meals as well. It’s nice having the prep work done and just being able to have a fresh warm meal at home. And through it all, Jody, the owner, has been very warm and helpful.
Overall, we have been very happy with our experience with Fresh Prep Kitchens.

Terrible, terrible and TERRIBLE was my experience with Fresh Prep Kitchens. Yes, I had bought the Groupon to try it out, but no, it wasn’t even worth the price at the Groupon price. First, as someone wrote, it was very hard to even find a date that they would make my three meals. Then when I came to get them, they were not at all ready, they didn’t say that the meals cost extra when I ordered them (I was trying to get the maximum for what I had paid on Groupon, but didn’t quite do it). And the two women there didn’t really seem as if they knew much about how to run the business or what to do. But I put all that aside as I brought home my meals: two steak dinners (0ne with Yukon potatoes) and a chicken meal. Ha! As other people have said, the chicken was simply two pieces of chicken with a little marinade and herbs in a baggy. Hello? I can make that at home for much less — and my homemade ones taste better! But it is the pathetic pieces of tough, tasteless steak that made me write this review. Never ever in my life have I eaten (or TRIED) to eat such tough steak! One was sirloin and the other was supposed to be TriTip (I think… it was too tough to tell). So, if you go there: Be forewarned! It’s way too pricey, the servings are small (I always had to augment their meals with things from my kitchen) and, most importantly, the food was poor to mediocre at best!

My husband purchased a groupon there for (3) meals… went in ONE TIME, picked up (2) meals…1 chicken, 1 beef… went in today to pick up my third meal and was told that they would have given me a handwritten note stating that I had (1) meal remaining. I do not recall being given such a note, nor do I recall their instructions.
The two women told me they could not help me and that they never fail to offer instructions/​receipts on remaining/​left over meals from Groupon.
It is my opinion that they were not only rude, but SEVERELY lacking in customer service. As a matter of principle, did they really believe I was trying to scam them out of a free meal? That is how I felt, I was summarily dismissed… told «we can’t help you today»…I found it rather absurd & ethically speaking, I was not given what I paid for, therefore, I’ve decided to pursue other legal avenues, not least of which include the BBB, follow up w/​Groupon, & more.
I left feeling very insulted. I’m not the type of person who would compromise my integrity in order to obtain a $ 16.95 dinner…
Lastly, their portion sizes are very small in my opinion. The food tasted ok.

Overall disappointing experience! $ 17 for chicken strips and additional $ to buy side dishes for a complete dinner. We gave it a try but learnt that it’s night spectacular. Other dishes were just ok, not worth the price. we got a groupon and learnt that if you don’t use upfront during online order, then they don’t want to honor it and so instead if paying the groupon deal (half the price) we ended up paying the full price! Bad service and not coming back! I can put my chicken with marinate in zip log bags
