I’ve been buying Coffeol coffee since ’94 when I could get it at a little corner store down the street from where I lived in Aptos. I was a big fan of their Italian Roast, French Roast and, especially, their Rocket Fuel. All strong, bold flavors roasted to perfection and blazingly fresh. Deliveries to my corner market(and subsequently other locations around the Santa Cruz area) were always frequent because I never received anything less than freshly roasted beans. When I moved out of state, I continued to order Coffeol coffee because it’s some of the best coffee beans I’ve ever had. I do so less frequently these days only because shipping charges make it hard on, what has been recently, a very tight budget. The people who run Coffeol have always been brilliant to me. After I’d moved out of the area and before they had a web presence, I would order via phone or, oftentimes voicemail, and receive my packages in the mail all neatly wrapped like a gift. The first iteration of the website was simple but effective and the new website even nicer with more features. I do miss the old logos but change is inevitable. Do try the coffee and spread the word. You’ll be hard pressed to find better coffee anywhere.

One of the best, freshest blends I have bought at a reasonable price… I certainly hope the reviewer«Barry F» was joking about the French and Vienna blends. Those are the proper names for types of roasting methods, not where they were grown. There’s also a New England roast, but the coffee isnt grown in Maine! Also the oiliness of a bean(also known as the«coffeol” – get it??) has to do with the type and length of roasting; I prefer the lighter roasts as they have more caffeine(my crack-cocaine) than the darker oilier roasts. If you roast beans too long, you end up with a bitter bean(also known as the Starbucks effect)
