Also offered are the works of many other talented artists, the majority of which are American Made as well, from birdbaths & benches to lovely hand made jewelry & ceramics. History

Established in 1983.

Garden Smiles formally opened in this location in 1995 and is an outgrowth of Carruth Studio located just up the road. George Carruth began his career sculpting for American Greetings & in 1983 launched his career as a stone carver creating hand carved stone. Having won many awards & offering his work in American Craft galleries across the country, George began casting his work in 1985. The idea was to offer the public affordable well designed artwork for their gardens. Over the years his work has evolved to include designs well suited for interior home display and gift giving. George is nationally and internationally recognized for his attention to detail and his success in creating «sketches» in clay cast in stone. Carruth Studio continues to sell George’s plaques, sculptures, and statuary to shops and catalogs nationally and internationally. Garden Smiles is the only shop owned by George & Deborah Carruth.

Deborah Carruth is the wife and co-​owner of Garden Smiles by Carruth & its mother company, Carruth Studio. Her role within the company is essentially that of CEO and creator of Garden Smiles. Deborah oversees all operations of Garden Smiles & Carruth Studio within the financial and marketing arena.

The existence of Garden Smiles is due to Deborah Carruth and her love of artwork.
