Not only is this place slow and the food is ok half the time but the workers are absolutely rude and nasty to you. I’ve come to this establishment on and off for 15 years until today when I simply went in to ask to wash my hands in there bathroom she looked at me with absolute disgust dismissing me like some dog after I have spend a lot of money in this place and left unsatisfied in the past. Anytime you walk into this place they always have the nasties faces and are never pleasant or greet you with a smile. This whole situation broke the camels back for me. I don’t need to go to a place and be disrespected and eat shitty Chinese food This is not South Park

I have tried a lot of Chinese restaurants in my life and Green Pod is the one offering the worse food! Their food ruined my whole day as a long hair was found in the food!!! Sooooo disgusting!!! Compared to this, the fact that their food is too greasy and tasteless seems not that important! I wonder how they could passed the health inspection! Will never nerver be back! Seriously, if you do not wanna get sick, stay away from them!

I really wanted to love this place — it’s close to my house and I like going to neighborhood places. The people were pleasant enough, but the place was empty for a reason: the food just isn’t very good.

We love the Green Peapod. The food is great. Always hot and delicious. We tend to stay away from the Thai and stick to the Chinese. Crab rangoons are amazing. I love the veggie fried rice. It’s not your normal greasy, prepared 12 hours ago Chinese. Everything is fresh and yummy!

I come here for one dish only, the Singapore noodles. Always well prepared. However the rest of the menu is not so good and I would not recommend. The owners are Chinese so I have not tried Thai dishes.

I got the General Gau’s lunch combo with crab rangoon and wonton soup. It wasn’t horrible but I’ve definately had better at other places. The main thing like many others said is that everything lacks flavor. Which I personally can’t understand being that they use bottled sauces like every other Chinese joint. They must be shopping at the Dollar Tree version of Food Supply stores! Wanted to try it, but will not order from again.

The food is OK … I’ve had worse. I find it very greasy & I mean GREASY! What has happened with Chinese food anymore? I can’t seem to find any decent Chinese restaurants anymore … I have given this place 3 tries and each time I am disappointed and regretting my decision. My son loves the General Gao’s Chicken(he’s 12& dosen’t really know any better) It’s made of the worst cut of dark meat chicken and has too much gristle for my liking. We recently got a pu-pu platter for 2 and the boneless ribs were swimming in a pool of grease at the bottom of the container.(YUCK) On the plus side they deliver rather quickly… so if your in a rush for pimples your good to go! Believe me … this is the better of two evils since there is absolutely NO decent Chinese restaurants in the area. You might want to consider a different type of food altogether…

I’ve been coming here for 14 years. I like Green Pea Pod for several reasons. Although there is a modest language barrier, there is a friendliness and it’s translates to warm customer service(especially the parents that own it, the younger generation, age average 25, they’re usually okay). The food is excellent. The best crab ragoon ever! I especially love the peanut sauce that accompanies the pad thai. My husband loves the ravioli… it’s the details and the food is great. I’d say it’s more Chinese than Thai, although it has a few Thai dishes. The prices are decent and the restaurant is clean. Overall it’s very good!

Great tasting Chinese food, I always order for takeout, never disappoints. Love the crab rangoons. Big portions(a bit too big), reasonable price, nice service. If u like mustard then ask for their hot mustard, goes great on beef or chicken teriyaki. I wish they do a makeover inside the restaurant for a fresh look to attract dine in customers too, then it may be 5-stars

I ate first(chicken satay & fisherman’s fury), prior to reading other reviews. Good food, very accommodating staff, reasonable value to portion size ratio. Yes, it was a little empty for midweek/prime dining time. But it’s a local joint, old school, not very precisely Thai. Good in a pinch!

Getting food at Green Peapod is a little like hooking up with an ex. In the heat of the moment, you think, «what the heck, why not?» Things are familiar and predictable, but in the end, you’re only mildly satisfied and also mentally kicking yourself for the lapse in judgment — again. Thai Spring Rolls? Eh. Scallion Pancake? Woah there, let’s not try too hard. Masaman Curry, Chicken Pad Thai, Pad See Yu… maybe I thought they were good the first go ’round, but I’m not sure why… While I appreciate that most of the dishes come with tons of veggies, the sauces and flavors are not authentic Thai, and with the price tags that come with them, it’s more of an insult on my judgment than it is to my wallet. The next time flirting with a quick and easy take-out order comes up, someone please knock some sense into me!

At the end of the day, I can’t even say I got my food. The person on the other line had to ask me for directions to my place, even though I’m less than 10 minutes away and apparently my roommate ordered from this place before. I asked if he had a GPS, and mind you, he answered YES. Although skeptical, I placed the order. One hour later… No food. Delivery guy calls and asks me for directions. From what he was saying, he was two minutes away. So I gave him directions and half an hour later, he’s still not here. That’s when I cancelled, went hungry, and said never again Greed Peapod. In short, fuck this place bra. I want to kick the delivery guy to sleep.

I really like Green Peapod. There is not much atmosphere in the dining area, but the food is tasty and fresh, it is quiet, and the wait staff is lovely and efficient. They seem to do a lot of take-out business here. Favorites are the wonton soup, pan fried ravioli, hot basil noodles with chicken, and pineapple fried rice. Lots of vegetarian options. Prices are excellent. They seem to have a new manager who has brought in fresh juices and new desserts.

I love this place! The Garlic Shrimps are delicious. The Crab Rangoons are divine. I am obsessed with their Pad Thai. The shrimps are a great size in the Garlic Shrimp and so tasty. I love the crab rangoons here compared to other Chinese Restaurants because they aren’t overly greasy and soaked in pounds of oil. The pad thais are also great as they don’t drench the noodles with the peanut sauce and give you the option to add more if you want. The prices are great for the quality and quantity you get. Definitely my go to Chinese Restaurant.

Since I live down the street from this place. I order from this place all the time. Well tonight was my last time. The lady who always answers the phone is just plain rude all the time — She seriously needs some basic customer service skills besides saying all the time: whatch ya want? 10 minutes ! Today I ordered after 4 — yes I know I cant order from the lunch menu since its after 4 pm but I got served lunch menu portions and got charged the dinner price. Having all that said, I refuse to pay for bad customer serrvice. and the food is 2 stars anyway, I will be taking my business back to Wondercafe — where the owners are nice and the food is fresh.

My job has me on the road 100% and I am originally from San Francisco, which I consider one of the best cities for divine chineseWhenever I travel to a new city the first and foremost thing to do is to find a great Chinese Food and one that delivers is a bonus. I arrived in Watertown in September and found this restaurant on Unilocal. The first order was the L22. It arrived on time, hot, fresh with large shrimp. The portions are large. I order at least every two weeks and have not been disappointed yet. They are friendly and on time. The L22 is so good, I have to try to order something different the next time! Bön Apetit

Update, stopped by for lunch. Ordered there lunch special of the Fish Fury. Very spicy. It came with a choice of appetizers and fried or steamed rice. I got the egg roll and white rice. The special I got was 7.50. I also ordered a separate order of chicken wings. Very hot and tasty. So far when I’ve eaten here the food has been perfectly fine. I really don’t understand why more people don’t show up. That being said I’m going to bump up my star by one because I currently don’t see anything actually WRONG with the place other then the fact that there really isn’t any customers(when I went there was only one other table sitting).

The Green Peapod in East Watertown is your little above average chinese/thai takeout place. We went there for dinner the other night before the movies. I had eaten there once before. My first time I got delivery and ordered the olé General Gau dish. The chicken was tender and had a nice thick coating and was crisp. Had a good spice. The portion size was nice. Got chicken teriaki and crab rangoon w pork fried rice. Aside from the General Gau, the rest was mediocre. The chicken teriaki has a odd taste and color, the crabs weren’t the best, and the pork rice was just not good. My second time around, we went and ordered some Thai. I ordered the Thai Trio. Came w sauteed beef, chicken and shrimp w veggies in a spicy sauce. I wasn’t expecting it to be good, but I was surprised how good it actually was. It had a great spice and made me sweat a bit. The girl I was with ordered the Pik-King Tofu, which came in a chili-ginger sauce. I tasted it and it wasn’t bad, but I would never order it. The scallion pancakes are always a great choice for a appetizer. The sauce they serve it with was great. If the place got a liquor licence I might of even given it a 4 star rating. Who doesn’t like Mai Tai’s and Scorpion Bowls?

AWFUL! AWFUL! WORSTEVERINLIFE! AWFUL! RUNAWAY-QUICKLY! You have been WARNED! Ordered lunch delivery from this rip-off joint, beef& broccoli, rice, and an appetizer, the lunch combo. I bs you not, Unilocalers– there were SIX small pieces of beef, a garden of broccoli and one little kids size ice cream scoop of rice. WTF? Usually you at least get enough rice to feed a neighborhood. RIPOFF! I was SO disappointed and angry that I didn’t even bother to call them. I just pulled the menu, tore it up, vowed to Unilocal!about the experience, and to never, ever order from there again. Experience– forgotten. Poof, be gone.
