Stepping Stones provides services for families with children ages 2 months — 6 years (prior to Kindergarten). Stepping Stones believes that each child is a unique person. Each child is respected for his or her individual personality, learning style and family background. We have created an environment where your child is nurtured while building self-​esteem. Our objective is to provide a setting where your child will feel secure and you are confident in the care and education being provided.

Stepping Stones acknowledges parents as being the most significant adults in a child’s life. We believe that communication is the key to success in the relationships between our families and our teachers. We welcome and encourage parent involvement.

Stepping Stones is open Monday — Friday, 7:30a.m. — 5:30p.m. We offer both full time and part time options, including an 8:45 — 12:45 option in our Preschool program.

History

Established in 2002.

Stepping Stones provides your child with a variety of developmentally appropriate activities, which enhance social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. We believe that an emergent curriculum gives children the opportunity to learn based on their interests. Child-​centered activities promote active learning and encourage children to make their own choices. We stimulate children’s interests through exposure to art, music, sensory experiences and story telling both in and outdoors. Stepping Stones provides a safe and secure environment that is designed to allow the children to grow naturally through their inquisitive nature.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

I am the owner and Director of Stepping Stones Child Care Center. I opened Stepping Stones in September of 2002. I have an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from Lesley University.

Since starting in the field in 1995 I have worked with infants, toddlers and preschoolers with a diverse array of abilities, backgrounds and needs.

I had the good fortune of being mentored by many talented and caring directors and teachers, and from those experiences I have developed a blended pedagogical philosophy and curriculum that stimulates and educates children by creating meaningful learning experiences while building trust, authentic self-​esteem, and confidence.

As owner and director, I am passionate about providing quality affordable care to families, and working with my talented and knowledgeable staff to implement the key points of the Stepping Stones philosophy for every child every day.
