History

Established in 1981.

Dr. Guitar was established April 1981 by Bruce Paige after more than a decade and a half of professional playing, recording, vintage instrument collecting, luthier work, and retail management for a chain music store company based in New York City.

Since then the store has expanded and is now home to over 1000 guitars and hundreds of amplifiers, drums, accessories, and other musical equipment.
