The food is a solid three the service adds another star. Owners are laid back attentive decent folk. The prices cant be beat. They have six tables that seat 4. One that seats 6 and one double. Ive only been here for breakfast.

Pretty simple food, nothing I would go out of the at for. Best part is it’s open Sunday when most things are closed. Probably only go back if other places aren’t open.

Stopped here randomly for a quick bite to eat on our way to rock climbing nearby. The place is simple with a counter, 3 – 4 tables, floor is a little wet from the snow outside. But who cares. We got a gyro wrap and a chicken parm sandwich. Both are solid, large portioned and cheap. Can’t beat that.

Maybe I’m a sucker for this place because it truly is a «mom and pop» shop. The owners are elderly, friendly, and they make the café feel homey. All that aside, the food is really delicious. It is only open until lunch time(I’ve appeared at their door step at 6pm craving a gyro; to my dismay, found that they only do breakfast and lunch) Their gyro has never failed to satisfy and leave me happy. My husband also just had their chicken parm sub and man, oh man, it did not disappoint. The sauce was flavorful. Normally he doesn’t like tomato sauce, but he definitely made an exception for theirs. I hope to try other foods on the menu but so far their gyro is hard to beat!

As soon as I entered the place I knew I was going to love it. Interior seems like they kept it clean and maintained well for years. Has great aesthetic. Hospitality was amazing. And as for food, I finally found the chicken cutlet sub I used to love when I was in ny. Looking forward to try other menu.

Eat here often and am always happy. Recently their steak bomb was over the top delicious. An order of fries is too much for one person. French Toast or Pancakes also great. Falafel wrap will fill you up as well as their souvlaki. Great place for a well cooked burger. Something for everyone. :)

I love this place. If I have the choice of where to go for breakfast in the area, its def the Crown. The downside may be the smaller menu(other places have much bigger selection), but whatever is on the menu is absolutely done right. Plus the service is awesome– owners are always super eager to please. Never a problem here– always on point.

Extremely friendly and service oriented. I didn’t have cash and my bill was less than their posted minimum, but they said«no problem!» It saved me a trip to the ATM. Food was fresh and healthy. The lentil soup was nice, and it was more pasta than lentils. Generous proportions! I’m glad I tried it.

We were looking for a quick breakfast to take on the road last Saturday morning. Egg sandwich on scali toast and hashbrowns to-go. The sandwiches were tasty, although not as filling as I would have hoped. The hashbrowns had a funky flavor, but were cooked perfectly and just fine with some ketchup. Prices are reasonable and the folks taking our order were friendly and quick. I’m not sure if I would return since there are so many other options in Watertown, but if I did I would skip the hashbrowns and try the pancakes.

TL;DR Their steak and cheese is a hidden gem(in my opinion). The owners kept my credit card by mistake and called my company to cancel it for me. Long summary: I’ve been going here on random occasions for the past 4 – 5 years. I felt compelled to write a review because of what the owners of the restaurant did with my credit card. My credit card was either left behind or they kept it by accident, they called the credit card company to cancel my card. Onto the food! Their steak and cheese sandwich is severely underrated in my opinion. The meat is a little dry but is compensated by the cheese, green peppers, and onions. The bread is gently toasted without any visible burn marks. I always try and make it to Crown Café during a day off. It’s something like a treat because I can’t make it during working hours. I look forward to eating there again and I’m going to order their Steak Combo =). Whenever I order a steak sandwich from local places in the area(Allston/Brighton, Newton, and Watertown) the bread is hot and soggy from the meat. Try it out and I hope you enjoy it. I look forward to visiting them again.

This place is pretty great. I work across the street and have been there a few times. The sandwiches have always been fresh and very flavorful. I got the falafel on a pita today, and it’s excellent. The owners are super nice and today I learned that«hots» = peppers. I love it.

What can I say? Great value and large portions of good, unpretentious food. The coffee is good, and they have a surprisingly robust menu. The French toast is great. I also really recommend their sandwiches. They have a lot of options, so I’m excited about trying more on the menu. Also, great, friendly mom & pop service.

Hubs and I checked this place out based on the positive reviews– one of the only times Unilocal has let us down. We both got breakfast sandwiches and potatoes and were less than pleased. Seems like a family run establishment, so it really makes me sad that the food was so bad. Maybe we hit them on an off day?

I work down the street and eat here about 1 x a week. The food is always warm, ample and delicious. The chicken kabob pita is one of my favorites, but the gyros, lemon chicken soup and breakfasts are also tasty. The owners are super nice and make people feel welcomed. I always enjoy Crown!

Delicious and well-priced place. The only reason I give it a 4 is I’d prefer tahini sauce with my falafel than greek yogurt but it was GREAT falafel. I also recommend their spicy fries. Nice quiet and easy place to go to, I will go again.

Great breakfast(egg sandwiches, pancakes, bacon, sausage, grilled muffins), friendly staff, and best of all– extremely affordable. Our whole family eats well for 20 bucks.

I wrote a review for this place like two years ago and it apparently never went though! Argh. Anyway, I went in there quite some time ago and I ordered a BLT, requesting«crisp bacon» because really, what good is a BLT if the bacon is soggy, right? Anyway, they brought it to me and it was fresh, crispy and delicious. Hooray. I have been in a few times since. I would NOT recommend the french fries, but its no big deal. The pancakes, on the other hand, are obscenely large and absolutely delicious.

This is a great little café in Watertown for lunch. The food is probably more like 4 stars, but I’m giving them 5 for their outstanding customer service. This is a no frills place with good food for very reasonable money. They are always busy at lunch hour. But the staff greeta you with a smile, are very respectful, and take your order as quickly as possible. They also welcome phone orders so they can have your order ready for you when you arrive. I personally like the greek salad with chicken salad on top(not on the menu). It’s enough for two lunches and is about $ 8. Can’t be beat!

Having ordered lunch here a dozen times, I feel I can now safely give the Crown Café five stars. The owners/staff are awesome; they are always very nice, friendly, and attentive. For food, I generally stick to the great, well-spiced, chicken kebab dishes, but everything else I’ve tried has been good as well. In glowingly positive reviews, I generally try to mention something that could use improving, but saying, «Their chicken kebab wraps are so full of delicious chicken that you have to use a fork!» seems pretty forced. In any case, you owe it to yourself to stop by!

Crown Café is a great example of a local diner. The staff is super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is rather no-nonsense, but still relaxing and comfortable. I think the owner grilled my muffin for me actually :) I go in here for a muffin every once in a while and am always delighted by the perfectly sized, fluffy muffins(grilled, for the extra butter, real ‘diner’ experience) for LESS than $ 2! Today I got a french toast muffin and it’s quite yummy. I also noticed their greek/gyro/sandwich menu and am definitely going to be trying one of those soon.
