Our attorneys blend more than 90 years of combined experience in multiple areas of law and are known for their expertise in personal injury, bankruptcy, immigration, domestic relations and landlord/​tenant law.

A licensed, experienced attorney handles each case from start to finish. We do not use paralegals. With five attorneys and a support staff of four, the size of our office allows us to get to know our clients and tailor our services to their individual needs. When you seek our help, you will work directly with your attorney. A receptionist or an attorney personally takes every phone message and your call will also be returned within 24 hours if your attorney is not available at the time of your call.

Our attorneys have distinguished themselves as lecturers, instructors and humanitarians. Active in both public and private sectors, and serving as officers of professional, political and community organizations, our attorneys are particularly alert to changes in the law, an added benefit for our clients.

History

Established in 1979.

Organized in 1979 by Attorneys Harvey Alford and Donald Bertrand, we now have four offices and a staff of attorneys with expertise in many legal areas.

The attorneys at Alford & Bertrand have be awarded many awards from such organizations as the Massachusetts House of Representatives for its numerous contribution to Community outreach and efforts to improve the life of the people in our community. The Law Firm has contributed thousands of dollars towards scholarship funds to enable disadvantaged young men and women to attend the college of their choice.

Attorney Harvey Alford, a senior partner, has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Louis D. Brown Foundation. This organization has worked to teach teen students how to resolve issues by non-​violent means and is one of the sponsors of Mom’s against teen violence. Attorney Harvey Alford has lived in and worked in the Greater Boston area his entire life so he knows the towns and cities, people and places. For more than 30 years he has been a partner in the Law Firm of Alford & Bertrand. LLC with four offices located in Watertown, Lynn, Quincy and Mattapan. Literally thousands of clients have brought their personal and business needs to Attorney Alford and his firm. People in need of relief from debt or facing foreclosure have found the firms bankruptcy team to be both knowledgeable and sympathetic. The litigation team has helped those in need of help after suffering personal injuries as well as those in need of Commercial Law representation. The firm has represented both Public Housing Authorities and private landlords for more than 25 years and have an expertise in Tenant/​Landlord law. With associates speaking Spanish, Russian, Haitian/​Creole and Armenian the firm is able to represent members of the community from all parts of the world.
