I just adore Meghan. She is an excellent stylist and colorist, and gives me a great cut every time that is modern without being too trendy. She also knows how to style my fine hair and gives me great styling tips. She’s so friendly and welcoming and adds little touches like tea or coffee and an aroma therapy shoulder massage. I love how she’s decorated her place… is colorful, hip and comfortable. I always leave there feeling like I’ve been pampered.

I cannot emphasize enough how well Meghan combines professionalism, talent, and sincerity into her work.
She’s real about hair – I walked into her salon following my move from CA, totally bummed about the humidity here and the fact that it brought out how terribly damaged my hair was (nothing could save me!) She cut off as much as she could while *honestly* staying true to my request of keeping length. My goal is longer hair and she listened. Days later, I even asked her for a tutorial on how to blow dry my hair on my own, and she generously agreed. I felt so comfortable asking her that, as if she was a good friend!
What really impressed me was when she told me to hold off on highlights until I felt better regarding my split ends, and she suggested that I continue deep conditioning with a recommended product (which is a god-​send for me) for another month or so, in order to have my hair respond best to the highlights (aka not break off. :)) That was the moment when I knew she was truly a stand-​out among all of the hairdressers I had seen in the past, who have wanted to cut off much more of my hair than requested, highlight or color it despite its awful and damaged condition, and overall have not taken into consideration the fact that my hair still needs to look good days, weeks, and months after a salon visit!
I have a highlight appointment scheduled in the next weeks and I am beyond thrilled. My hair feels so ready because of the product I’ve been using, and the extra care tips she gave me. Please visit her salon, you will be amazed! And HAPPY with your hair!

Let me start out by saying that I love the set up of this salon! It is very cute and relaxing, and all of the women welcome you in a very friendly manner as soon as you walk into the salon. You’re even given a mini head massage which is the complete opposite of being rushed into a salon chair and waiting longingly for your stylist to remember you exist.
Bringing me to my next point. This salon is unlike ALL of the rest. You are attended to 100% of the time, literally. If you’re not in the chair, they’re consistently checking in with you to see if you’re alright and/​or need anything. I didn’t feel stressed and as though my time was being wasted and/​or as though I wasn’t important.
And now my hair. It is fabulous! I wanted a complicated mix of colors, and Meghan was able to pull it off and I love it! I’ve had horrendous colors done in the past, and it’s a relief to finally find someone who can actually do color. I can’t wait to go back to get my colors freshened up. Brittany also gave an amazing cut and blow dry, making the end result look even more amazing!
Overall, I love this salon. It’s a very amicable environment. The prices are similar to those of other salons, but here you’ll actually feel important and as though you’ve spent well.

I love this salon — Meghan makes every effort to make your experience personalized and make you feel beautiful– So far I’ve had a cut and color and I get lots of compliments on my pretty red hair! I’ve found my salon!

Upon arrival you recieve an amazing neck and head massage. Immediately I knew I was going to be taken care of. Just like everyone here, Meaghan is awesome. I love my haircut and the products they sell there are awesome. I also got a hair therapy conditioning and that was so worth it my hair is shining and looks awesome! Will be back soon.

Hands-​down, the best salon experience I’ve had in years!!! The space is welcoming and décor is fun. Brittany (?) was so sweet and gave me an awesome shoulder and head massage and the best shampoo I’ve had. Meghan is a delight. Very personable, clearly knowledgable, and takes time to get to know you and your hair! I was nervous to cut my hair short — she was so supportive and honest and I ended up with a fantastic haircut!
I’m going back in 12 weeks. She’s my new hair lady!

It’s been a few weeks since I got highlights done at Alainn and I love them so, so much. Meghan and Brittany are so nice and the salon is adorable.
But really, my hair is exactly what I wanted and I can’t stop looking at it. 100% recommended! I’ve gotten color at a million places but nobody has ever made it look this good!

Meghan Moran is awesome. First off, when you walk into her salon, she is incredibly gracious and welcoming. She loves what she does, and that is evident.
I’ve had some bad experiences with stylists in the past, but Meghan listened to me, cut my hair exactly as I asked, and didn’t try to sell me products I didn’t want.
The atmosphere at her salon is chill and relaxed, and Meghan’s talents are enhanced by her natural empathy and the intuition she has for her clients’ needs. I’ll be back!

This is a long overdue review for Meghan and her salon! I always, always have a great experience/​cut/​color when I go there. Plus, Meghan is fun to be around! I won a gift card to Alainn from a fundraiser and decided to give it a try. I received a fantastic cut from Meghan and really enjoyed being at her salon. Meghan is full of energy and so friendly and best of all is a very talented stylist. I highly recommend her but be prepared to book in advance.

I joined Unilocal just so that I could give this review! You can’t find a better hair stylist in Massachusetts. No, really you can’t! Meghan gives the best haircuts and to top it off, she treats her clients like royalty. It is clear that she loves what she does, and she should since she is so talented! I am always impressed too how she is focused on learning new styles and techniques. She once told me after she returned from a hair conference, how she will never stop learning new ways to be better at her job. AND to top it off, she is possibly one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I have been going to Meghan since she opened her shop and have literally NEVER had a haircut I didn’t love. She may be $ 10 more than your average so-​so hairdresser but she is worth every penny! She won’t push hair products on you, she won’t pressure you into having to make a return appointment and your hair will be cut so well that you end up saving money since you don’t have to go back as quickly for a re-​cut. I adore her personality and am in love with her talent.

Finally! I’ve been in the Boston area for three years now, and somehow haven’t managed to find anyone I like to do my hair… Until now! Megan is amazing! From the second I walked in the door, she was smiling and friendly and, most importantly, knew what she was doing. Love, love, love my hair color and cut! This is definately my new hair place! I «made the switch» to Meghan from my previous hairdresser about 18 months ago after a friend of mine had gone to her and got a fantastic cut and color. I was looking to make a change with my hair — specifically, growing out a very short, layered cut that I had for a number of years. Meghan was the perfect person to make this happen. She is enthusiastic, attentive, and has great advice about what works.
When I am in the salon waiting for my color to process (while relaxing with a lovely cup of tea that she serves me, and reading from her collection of CURRENT magazines — and listening to the great music that she always plays!), she often works on another client during this time. I see that these clients get the same personal and professional treatment that I get — and they all get great cuts/​styles that they all seem very pleased with.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that she starts each session off with aromatherapy oil and a shoulder rub!

Meghan is so great. She’s the type of person you could spend an hour with and think, «I have a new friend!» I haven’t gotten a color before, but she told me that my natural color was nice and that I didn’t need extra coloring. That’s awesome! The cut was good too, but I definitely respect her opinion.

I love Meghan! I have been going to her for about a year now and she always does a fabulous job with my cut and color. She does a great job dying my hair and always listens to what I want. Her prices may be a little steep for Watertown, but it is 100% worth it! She is also always willing to give me complementary bang trims whenever I need them. Meghan is super personable and the time spent in her chair flies by. There is no awkward chit chat — she remembers you and engages in enjoyable conversation with all her customers. I would recommend her to anybody!

Meghan is really the best! This was my first time at her salon today. She is truly a star at what she does. She listens to you and works with you to get what type of color style you want.
She worked magic on my hair I came in with multi tone/​colored hair. To beautiful hair with natural looking caramel highlights. I will def be coming back to her. She is very humble and delight to talk to.

I just wanted to leave an update to my previous review. I am now living an hour away from this salon and still drive in to see Meghan regularly. I always leave looking fabulous, so I have no desire to seek out a new stylist closer to home. You truly won’t be disappointed going to Alainn.

I cannot begin to explain how wonderful Meghan is as a person and a stylist!!! As you can see from her reviews, she certainly knows what she’s doing. Often it is hard to trust a stylist, but after getting her name and number from a friend, I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! Meghan cut at least 3 inches off my hair and gave me a completely new do and I love it.
She is very personable, listens to what you want, and gives suggestions on what she thinks works with your hair and face. I wish I had gone to her from the start!
She is also very punctual with calling you back and scheduling. Very flexible! Definitely worth traveling outside the city for a very reasonable priced hair style with a great stylist!

I’m another one of Meghan’s long time followers from when she used to be at Pyara probably now about 5 years ago! I had really long, brown hair and wanted something different… she took one look at me, listened to what I wanted and literally transformed my hair by giving it an awesome cut and color, complete with a before and after picture!
I’ve followed her ever since and have not trusted anyone else to do my hair. Other reviewers are spot on — she has an excellent memory, very warm demeanor and first and foremost is an amazing stylist and colorist. She is happy to give suggestions and I’m always happy with the final product, even if I’m doing something drastic. Worth the drive to Watertown, no matter where you live in Boston!

So any person probably can relate who has curly hair. But it is kind of difficult to find a good stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. As for mine, its extremely thick, filled with curls, so I usually need to find someone who knows curly hair. I found this salon driving on my way home.
Meghan was great, super friendly and knew exactly how to tackle my hair. She thinned it out and just let the curls take control. She was great! I had a great experience and would recommend her to others. Looking forward to my next appt!
