Do. Not. Go. Here. My mother was under eye care for the last two months with a blocked eye duct and they were not only unable to help her, but told her that she would have to live like that for the rest of her life! The«doctor»(Gilbert) also said that she did not have an infection when just a few days earlier, another doctor told her that the puss coming out of her eye was an infection. She finally ended up at Danbury Eye care where a real doctor is setting her up with a Dacryocystorhinostomy. Save your money, and time, but most importantly, save you eye. Zero stars if possible.

Unfortunately, I’ve had the misfortune of going to this place for the last 8 years because it is the most convenient. The doctors are fine, but most of the staff in their vision center are remarkably and consistently rude and caustic. They’ll always ignore you, even when they’re not busy and will continue side conversations as they try to «help» you. They usually try to get you out as quickly as possible, and provide barely the basic assistance. Of course there are a few great and kind employees, but the horrible attitude of most of the staff really hurts the team. Go to the Opticare in Watertown or Naugatuck instead.

I went to the Opticare in Naugatuck. I don’t know why anyone would want to come here. Never did see properly with their glasses. All they did was to push extra services. When I went in to pick up my glasses, they were just about thrown at me, not fitting or checking. Woman at the desk was too busy yaking with a friend. Never go here!

While the quality of care is fine, their care about patients is nonexistent. Regardless of the reason for the appointment, a patient can expect it to take two to three hours, most of which is sitting in a waiting room. It is now 10:25 and I am now just seeing the Dr. for my 8:00 appointment. This is typical.

i have had a cataract surgery here last week by Dr. George Brinnig. the waiting room for the surgery was nice, clean and professional, yet warm. i also needed measurements taken from my eye with several different types of machines and personnel. everyone seemed pretty busy but were all very nice and explained everything and did not seem to treat me like a ‘patient’ but as a person. preparations for the surgery were smooth, everything was again explained by the nurse, the anesthesiologist and the doctor in person. the surgery went very fast and well. afterwards they have served me a drink with cookies. the next day the surgery center’s driver Stan picked me up, mind you i live about 60 Miles away and brought me back home again. where else do you find service like this? i have not been to many other clinics for outpatient surgery so i can not compare my experience to others but i can say that i and all others that day have received good ol’ style service from real nice professional human beings. an extra thanks goes to Dr. George Brinnig who is just the nicest doctor you will ever meet. thank you for restoring my eyesight and a big thanks to Opticare. i will not forget !

This place was disturbingly bad. I went in 2010 after sustaining a head injury and was advised to have my vision checked. I was the first appointment of the day and waited an hour to be brought in. The young lady who did my initial exam rushed me through so fast I knew it couldn’t have been right. Then she brought me in to see the doctor, who never introduced himself, looked at me for a few minutes, gave me a prescription for glasses and sent me on my way. For two years I have been thinking that the prescription was wrong. Last week I went to a new eye doctor who could not figure out how they could have given me the prescription they did. While I have about 2.5 nearsidedness in both eyes, one lens had 0 correction and one had about .2! I have almost 3 for astigmatism but the lenses only corrected for about .25. Also, the Opticare technician and doctor never dialed my pupils for the exam, which I now understand is a standard part of an eye exam. I think this place is neglectful, uncaring and disgusting.
