Brooklyn Baking Company has been a Waterbury landmark for over 100 years. We are famous in Waterbury for our soft and delicious donuts. Many people remember going in the back door and getting a donut from the bakers when they were a child. We are also well known for our Lithuanian Rye Bread especially among European communities throughout Connecticut.

Without question, the best donuts around. This has become a weekend ritual with the kids! If you haven’t had them, I strongly suggest you try it. My only request would be that they begin making bagels.

This bakery is fire! I only come here for the donuts, honey glazed to be exact. These donuts melt in your mouth. They are just the right amount of sweetness but be careful, the glaze can end up all over your shirt. You want to take your time and enjoy these light treats. The other the donuts and pastries are great as well. They also serve pizza, pasta, and breakfast meals. Overall, this is a great place to stop by for a treat. Tell your friends to tell their friends.

Hands down the best bakery I have ever been to in CT! Their donuts are to die for, light, doughy, crispy, fluffy, all at the same time. Their bread is nostalgiac… like the bread my Nonna would make when I was a kid. Mmmmm. Give it a try, you wont regret it, but you will find yourself thinking about it often.

I was just introduced to the donuts today and OMG. They are the most amazingly soft, flavorful things I have EVER tasted! I ate more than Id like to admit but really I felt like grabbing the box and running into a closet to gorge on them in private. Bravo! Well done Brooklyn Bakery!!!

I looked online for bakeries on my drive home and found this via Unilocal!Omg yes the donuts are amazing. I’m tempted to actually drive there today just to get more– they’re chewy, sumptuous and way delicious than Dunkin. Admittedly you can taste the fried goodness though! I got an assortment of other treats: éclair a were subpar so i suggest passing, cream puffs are good and the cannolis are great!

Such a gem of a bakery, I am so happy they have come to my area of town! This place is my go to for breakfast on the weekends, the best bacon egg and cheese on a roll I have had! Their pastries are also amazing, I have tried various donuts, the cannolis and the red velvet cupcakes! Everything else looks amazing as well, I will be trying more in the future. And the freshly baked bread is the best part! I will only buy bread here from now on!

Moved to this area almost 5 years ago and for the first time yesterday decided to check them out for breakfast. What a pleasant surprise! I had an egg and cheese on a Portuguese roll and it was delish! I also got a few donuts (bavarian, jelly, apple cinnamon), bad thing was, i shouldve gotten more! The donuts were fresh and soft. Like biting into a cloud of tasty goodness. my husband and i couldnt stop talking about how amazing everything tasted. We’ve already set in stone that its our new Saturday morning ritual.
The bakery itself is huge! They have spacious and cozy seating if your not on the go. The staff was extremely patient. Considering how overwhelming it is trying to pick what you want when everything looks good. They also have a variety of breads, cookies, cakes, and pastries.
Extremely affordable!

I can’t get enough of the Apple Cinnamon Doughnuts! Have to buy 2 boxes when bringing them to work or I show up with an empty box.
Even them lemon which I am typically not a fan of will find there way in my box.
The home style bread is a favorite for weekend visits to my parents.
BTW the employees are always super nice!

Holy smokes, these donuts are fantastic. Stumbled across this Waterbury gem while traveling on Rt 84 with my family. My mom had a random hankering for donuts, so I ran a quick Unilocal search and found Brooklyn Bakery. We tried the original location (also in Waterbury), but it was closed. Imagine our elation to discover Brooklyn Bakery Part II, in another area of town!
In decreasing order of obsession…
(1) *honey glazed* — like a krispy kreme, but better…
(2) *jelly* — amazing donut base, covered in powdered sugar, oozing with delicious jelly; great ratio of each
(3) *bavarian cream* — same concept, but stuffed with custard
(4) *chocolate covered* — not my favorite chocolate frosting, but still very good
Will definitely try the cinnamon/​sugar if ever in that area again.

Stopped in this morning and ordered three donuts — a powdered jelly, a plain jelly, and a cinnamon sugar. Decent donuts, but honestly, I was not overwhelmed. I can only give Brooklyn Bakery 3 stars, I really can’t see going outta my way to stop in again for average tasting donuts.

Couldn’t ask for fresher and better tasting donuts EVER! The donuts are so good that even if you don’t like donuts, you’d like these. They have glaze, jelly, cinnamon sugar, powder, and apple.
The breads are phenomenal too!
Don’t waste your money at grocery stores and Dunkin Donuts. This place uses better quality ingredients and costs less.
A must try!!!
