Pro-Techs Computer and Cell Phone Repair

Took my iPhone 6 Plus to get a new screen and they replaced it quick. Took about 30 min. The only downside is they charged about $ 184 and I went to Apple and they do it for $ 129. So yes they can provide a service and they can perform the repair on short notice but not at comparable prices. Just a heads up if you want an official Apple screen with the same warranty take it there. If you need it quick go here just expect to pay.

These guys know what they are doing. Thank you for testing my PreCor Elliptical motherboard. I will check the capacitor now. This is a great business. YOU HAVE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!

HORRIBLE — HORRIBLE — HORRIBLE!!! Is it possible to give a rating less than 1 star? Like a negative 5 stars? The only good thing I can say about this company is if not for the technician Rick I may have had pursue my legal options with this one.
We took my daughter’s 2 month old Macbook Pro in for the replacement of her screen which had a slight crack in it. Had taken it to Apple first and decided to shop around a bit. Pro-Tech’s repair costs were lower (at the time — worth not going to Apple to repair) and was told it would be a few weeks as the screen would have to be ordered. She was getting ready to start back at school (laptop in for repairs at the end of August) and as I hadn’t heard back from them — I made what would be the first of numerous calls for an update/​status — Mr. Bill K. apparently doesn’t believe that part of good customer service is keeping your customers updated by just a quick telephone call. The screen was ordered but shipping from China so they offered her a loaner which was the only good service provided by Pro-​Tech.
I never received a phone call letting me know how things were going or an ETA for completion. After the first couple weeks I started calling each week — the first screen ordered was not the correct screen and there was an issue when they tried to install it before realizing it wasn’t the right screen. Another screen was ordered, again had to wait for it to ship from China — but upon my weekly call was assured that it would be fixed and they would call me as soon as it came in. After waiting with no phone call I went into the shop and have to admit — I blew up at Rick — he was very apologetic and gave me Mr. Bill’s cell number. I called and spoke to Mr. Bill who proceeded to go over the history of why it was taking so long. I had already heard the whole «schpeel» but explained to him that most of my frustration, aside from the length of time this was taking, was that no one ever calls me with an update — the only time I hear what’s going on or any type of update is when I call or go into the shop.
At one point, I asked if the new new screen we were waiting on didn’t work — what then… and if there is any damage done to the laptop due to installing the incorrect screen how would that be handled? Mr. Bill informed me he was working with the manufacturer of the first screen to see if they would replace the laptop but wasn’t having much luck — well, then my question was what next? His response: «Well I guess I would have to run it through my insurance — but I don’t really want to do that — and as you brought it in as a used computer my insurance will only cover the cost to replace it at the used computer price — and there is a deductible.» His tone was almost defiant with me about it — Really? This is when I realized that Mr. Bill’s business practices are shady. First of all, we paid for the part and the repairs prior to them even touching the computer — so as far as I was concerned either her repaired and functioning laptop is returned to us or if there has been damage now to the laptop itself due to installing incorrect parts — I don’t give a flying hoot how much the insurance pays you to replace it — it gets replaced — at no cost to me.
A couple of weeks ago I was told that they were waiting for the second screen to come in from China — guess Mr. Bill just wasn’t ready to admit defeat — and that they would let me know when it arrives. Heard absolutely nothing (shocked) so I called last week to find out what was going on and the technician Rick told me that they had ordered a replacement MacBook Pro as the second screen did arrive but when installing it it caused another short in the laptop and it was not repairable. Finally — a resolution… although I never received a call telling me any of this.
I have waited to post anything on Unilocal until we actually had the laptop (a new one or the repaired) one in our hands as this expierence has left me very suspect about Mr. Bill’s business ethics and practice. For sure he is his own worst employee as far as customer service goes.
I have shared this experience on my FB page. I’ve noticed on other negative reviews on Unilocal — Mr. Bill responds and the common thread seems to be he turns the situation around in his explanation to blame the customer. Curious if and what his response to this review will be!
Two lessons learned here — if it’s an Apple product — take it to Apple to be repaired. Certain that had this been an issue with the correct screen replacement Apple would have 1) contacted us immediately and stayed in contact with us and 2) would have handed us a replacement much sooner than this has taken.

The jury is still out. trip 1– I took my dead laptop in several weeks ago. diagnosis came back that i needed a new motherboard. so they installed the motherboard, (trip 2) when i got it back (for $ 184), computer wouldn’t start. tech said it was my power supply and offered to sell me one for $ 49. I declined and ordered one off Amazon a week later for $ 25. When it arrived, computer would now start, but it wasn’t my laptop, someone else hard drive had been installed and the shop gave me all their data and records etc. 3^rd trip to the shop, tech says he will have to take some time to find my hard drive and keeps the laptop again. 4^th trip, tech gives back the laptop, swears my hard-​drive never went out the door of his shop so nobody else has my data. I get home, plug in laptop, now the hard drive is right but the battery wont charge. It was charging before I ever left it with them. I call the shop, now i gotta make 5^th trip to drop off the laptop again and 6^th trip to pick it up again. So, I’m not sure. If I work through this set of issues, I doubt I will go back.

Rick at Pro-​tech calmed my security fears and fixed my iPad mini screen in an hour. Perfect service, great price, friendly/​honest guy. I will be back and tell all my peep! Cannot give a higher recommendation.

Pro-​Techs fixed my daughter’s shattered iPhone 6 screen same day for a great price. They also replaced the bad power supply on our desktop computer quickly and affordably. Even more, they replaced a broken part for free, because they had an extra donated part in their shop. The customer service is great, and the value at Pro-​Tech is excellent!

This place is great! I brought two old, not working, laptops in. I was hoping to get one fixed or trade for something that worked. Both of the hard drives were toast! I immediately thought that I was just out of luck. The man who helped me said that one of my old laptops had parts he could still use and that he could sell me a laptop that was similar and take about 40 bucks off for the laptop I gave him. I was in and out with a new laptop within the hour of entering the building. He was super helpful and not condescending… which is a plus because I’m so computer illiterate I know it could be frustrating to explain things to me.
All in all, great service, prompt response, and amazing experience. I definitely recommend this place!

Received the stylus and wouldn’t you know it, broken in half. Mailed in a plain envelope with no «padding». Ridiculous.

I came in today (01-​19-​2015) to replace my s5 screen. The price was great so i left the phone. Got a call back under 2hrs, i was amazed on fast the screen was replace. I was looking foward to picking up my phone. Once i recieved the phone and before i left we looked over it to make sure condition was good on review we both notice hair line cracks on the screen, rep was like am not sure what that is but the lcd works. I was ya it may work but the point was to have a new screen with no flaws in it. Then the rep said that he could order another, but will have to pay an additional 40. Why would I pay extra if the screen was never fixed. I even show the rep this page where it stated Guranteed or no charge. He then said that that means he would place old screen on and return it as was. The rep then proceded to remove it while i waited. I did recieve my phone back only with glass screen no lcd. I would like for someone to reach out to me. I feel cheated out. Now i have a phone with no lcd and glass that is see through. How is that fair.
Update: You are correct i did offer your employee $ 20 for the repair after he seem to be hisitant to give back the $ 180 I payed. I did not return your call back or try to resolve do to fact how i was treated, why would i even continue to do business there.

I cannot tell you how disappointed I was that I went to this place. They do not stand behind their work. Do not trust them. Poor quality work on phone screen replacement. They broke the speaker while replacing the screen and would not repair. Also, the screen replacement was lose and poorly installed, lasted only a week and broke again. I spoke to the owner to give him a chance to make things right, he didn’t. So I am only left with hoping to warn others to avoid this poorly operated place.

I don’t recommend this place, because they deliberately tried to rip me off. The positive reviews on here are mainly for iPhone screen repairs, so i wasn’t sure how their computer repair service would be. Well it was terrible, they were telling me my hard drive was bad, despite me not having any issues with it prior. What a coincidence that when I got home my computer had crashed and it said my hard drive was bad. This was very suspicious so i took it to the apple store, since it was a Macbook, and the technician looked at my Macbook and saw that the hard drive was not plugged back in, but made to look like it was. My computer was fine, but what isn’t fine is that this place tried to scare me into buying a new hard drive from them. The problem i was having wasn’t even a hard drive problem, the apple store fixed it in no time. These people at Pro-​Techs tried so hard to push me into buying a new hard drive, but in the end they won’t be getting any more money out of me. Bottom line, these guys are liars and are only trying to make maximum profit out of you. Once i figured out what was happening, it made so much sense as to why they tried to convince me so hard to buy a new hard drive. I am still so mad at the deceit, I just cannot stress enough not to go here. Some people may have had positive experiences here, but i wouldn’t take the chance. Some people on here may of had a similar experience happen to them, but just not caught the lie. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! if you must go here, then get a second opinion before making any purchases!!!

These guys are wonderful!!! I brought my laptop into these guys after it suddenly crashed on me. I was panicked since I wasn’t current on all of my backups. They replaced the hard drive & spent several days patiently trying to get everything I needed off of the old drive. I really had my doubts & was preparing for the worst, but they did it & I thought their prices were extremely good! I couldn’t be happier! I will definitely use them again & have already recommended them to family & friends! Thank you Dan & Bill!

My daughter cracked her IPhone 5s screen and after many calls around Pro-​techs had the best price. Not only that, when we went in there they were super helpful and fixed her phone super fast! The most pleasant experience considering the situation. Their customer service and awesome service has gained a customer for life!

The Techs are very nice and helpful. The owner was not tho. He was not easy to work with, I came here when my Iphone 5s screen broke and they fixed it all up but only a few weeks later the glass that they replace was starting to unattached to the phone. The Owner was not nice about it and said that I made the glass come up like it did. I would not refer any of my friends here. Save the trouble and go somewhere else.

If looking for somewhere to have electronic devices repaired look no further. Took my iPad 3 with cracked glass just prior to dinner. Repair completed in just over 90 minutes. Devise looks like new. I will not hesitate to take my devices to Pro-​Techs in the future.

Dan did an amazing job optimizing our home network. He was efficient and professional and I learned a great deal from his explanations. I would highly recommend Pro-​Techs and will use them againin the future. Thanks!
