The donuts here are awesome… not greasy not too sweet, moist and perfection. Pair your donuts with some cider find a place to sit and enjoy after a day walking the corn maze. It gets busy here for a reason!

Extremely disappointed with this cider mill. We came out to their location, about an hour from our house, based on the information from their website. Our kids were especially looking forward to the maze advertised on the site. When we arrived, everything appeared closed up. Not wanting to leave empty-​handed, we went to buy donuts and cider. The person working the counter barely acknowledged me. She was more concerned about getting a pizza order correct for a corporate party they were hosting. When we asked about the maze and other activities, all she could say was that she wished the website was more up to date. No apologies, just a shoulder shrug. Very disappointing. The winery is nice but completely dragged down by the other parts of the operation. Hopefully it turns around.

This place has gone downhill. A few items closed and they changed the way they charge for apple picking, trying to force our family of 4 to buy a large bushel of apples to go when we only wanted a small bag. Very disappointed and will not be returning anytime soon.

Had a great time here today. If you have kids, this place is a haven for them! Playhouses, ships, castles, trains and slides for all ages, hay rides to and from pumpkin picking, Apple picking and a corn maze. Donuts are delicious and not small at all like most cider mills. Cider was good too! A great finish to our fun filled day :) will be visiting when I’m back in town in October :)

This place is awesome! My review is for the winery only, though I plan to try the cider and donuts at some point in the fall. My friends and I did a mini tour of the southeast Michigan wine trail and this was our last stop. The winery is located inside an old barn and the décor is adorable. It was spacious, but still felt cozy, and they had fans blasting, which felt nice on a very hot day. One of the first things we noticed was that they served water with our wine, which was a nice touch that was absent from
The other wineries we had visited that day. the variety of wines is small, but that doesn’t matter because they were all delicious. We tried the charcuterie board and this was easily one of the best charcuteries I’ve ever sampled. Service was impeccable and the experience overall was fantastic. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit!

I found this place when my wife had an urge for fresh cherries. We caught them at the tail end of cherry season, so most of the cherries were a bit overripe. However, we managed to find a few trees that were late bloomers and they were ultra sweet and delicious.
The real find of my first trip was the farm market. They sell all the usual suspects; fruits, veges, pastries, jams and butters. The fruits and veges are of exceptional freshness and quality. My wife and I have started to go here regularly to get fresh seasonal produce. Currently, you can get 10 medium or 5 large cucumbers for $ 1. There is also awesome sweet corn for $ 2.50 for 6 or $ 4.50 for 12. They also have a nice assortment of peppers, zucchini, squash, peaches and apple.
The icing on the cake for Westview is the the small ice cream shop where they sell a wide assortment of MI produced ice cream. They serve all the classics and even have a few that I have never seen before like cider mill donut. I recommend getting a peach cider mill donut with peach Ice cream. Also, they scoop ice cream the right way by loading the cone with ice cream before putting the scoop on top.
Along with the mentioned features, they also have a bakery, petting zoo and offer hayrides. I grew up going to Franklin Cider Mill, but for overall experience, Westview wins.

This was mine and the hubby’s favorite orchard we visited in the fall. The hot cider is just divine. The scenery cannot be beat. The have a winery and a farm with goats and chickens.
It is just soo fun. Definitely recommend!

Westview Orchards is a family-​friendly orchard that offers plenty of activities for the kiddies (a petting farm? Yes please!), delicious cider and food items, AND winery to keep mom and dad happy.

Westview Orchards was stop #2 on the Unilocal cider crawl, and I was impressed with the largesse of the farm. Not only did they have a place to buy your apples and cider, you can visit farm animals and go upstairs into the warm and homey winery. I loved the variety of donuts and treats that they offered, particularly the banana monkey business donut and the chocolate bacon. The pumpkin and apple donuts were yummy too… just the right texture. I loved the cider-​y taste of the cider. Sweet and rich without too much tartness.
I don’t drink wine, so I didn’t indulge in the tastings at the winery, but there was certainly a great selection. But on a cold day, sitting in the upstairs portion of the winery barn was homey and relaxing. It was my favorite part of the farm.

Not exactly where I like to go to get my cider and donut fix for the year, but it’s über convenient when in need of some quickie items. I was in the midst of the flu, when I ran in for some honey… the service was okay… nothing overly friendly… just okay. I’ve gotten other things here before… they weren’t bad… maybe a little pricey, but okay.
I think this is the place to go if you have kids. There is a helluva playground for them to be entertained with for hours… and as the passerby, I like to see the goats up in the air on their climby things… haha…it’s weird when you first see it… You’re like «What the???»
Not my favorite, not the worst… but I like to stop in from time to time for some freshness things.

Over priced pumpkins, rude workers asking for money when walking out of the kids play area. If your charging for things maybe you should be more organized instead of harassing costumers that just spent $ 70+ for 4 pumpkins. Thanks for shitting on our fun day. I’ll go to Big red next time

I think this place is A-​Okay. I prefer the cider taste at another mill to this one, however they do have a peach-​apple cider that is fun. I really don’t taste the peach flavor though, so that’s disappointing.
If you have kids you’ll review this place high, however there are costs associated with all the fun stuff/​petting zoo. Lots to do for little ones, for adults unless you are picking something I think it’s boring. Just a warning. The pumpkin patch is huge, but the apples to pick are almost gone if you go mid-​October.
The donuts are full size which is nice, and there are plenty of flavors. The peach donut is superb. I mean I wish I had bought 50. You must try this. The apple is really good too. I’m a plain donut gal, meaning I really don’t like sweet donuts ever and I dislike cinnamon. That’s why when I get a donut I get plain. If I say I like a flavored one, it has to be pretty special. I’d try at least one peach or apply if you like something different.
Overall like I said-​good place. I’d come back for the donuts or if a little one wanted to spend the day but I’d have to bring at least $ 15 a kid.

Nice place to bring kids. Food is ok. Service is ok too. Cost is average, not all the attractions (Horse ride in carriage and pony rides) are covered, pls make sure to ask.

Went midweek with the kiddos. It was not crowded which was really nice. They had the animals practically to themselves and got to feed sheep, goats, ducks and donkeys.
There is a nice open play area that kept them occupied for quite a while, too.
After, we stopped at the store there and grabbed donuts (amazing) and cider. I got a couple turnovers too — the crust was amazing.
Admission is cheap — overall it was a nice way to spend a couple of hours. I’m giving 3 stars because something is missing — not sure what. Maybe I’m spoiled by OH farms like Pattersons. It just wasn’t as well put together or maintained. The treats, jams and jellies push it to 3.5 tho.

We’ve been here before for pumpkin picking when my daughter was new.
So a short 6 or 7 years ago we thought this was «the» place to go.
Back then when you could weigh your pumpkins on a scale and pay per pound or whatever it was a cheap date. Fun and reasonable.
Since then they have changed their pay scale to flat rates per size: small, medium or large. We have found that it’s just not worth the drive to over pay for pumpkins. Fun to pick, not so much when you go to pay.
The play yard is fun if you have the time and $$ but if you come on a weekend it’s so crowded it makes it difficult as a parent to enjoy. The other part is that they make you pay for everyone. Kids are playing, parents are watching, why do I pay to follow my child through your playground? Kinda silly… and over priced.
My son had a field trip here last year and that day was a blast. Kids got a hay ride, one pumpkin from the patch (smallish in size) donut and juice and playtime for $ 8. It was semi-​quiet with other field trippers but well worth the day and drive.
Now… Yesterday we headed out their for cherry picking.
Sooooo let us keep in mind that they use a more natural approach to taking care of their 200 year old farm. They are MEAEP certified. Less pesticides etc.
I’m guessing that may play into the cost a little bit, maybe. Just maybe.
However, after calling around to other orchards if we wanted to pick cherries at all this year this was where we had to go.
My other choice were already out of sweet cherries. Most of the farms in our area either had no crops or low crops due to our horrible winter.
The window of opportunity was low and fleeting.
So we headed out on a Monday afternoon, muggy almost 90degrees and there was almost no one there. We had the farm to ourselves pretty much.
The cherries were the tart variety and pretty. The kids and I had the small double row of trees to ourselves. Great for pictures and felt as if we were on our own farm just wandering and enjoying an afternoon. There were probably about 2 dozen trees to pick from. Ladders were provided for the higher branches and the staff was super nice. Happy to answer any questions and friendly with the kids.
$ 24 for a half peck of cherries which ends up being about 7lbs worth. That’s about 3.50 a lb. not too too different than the grocery store. Granted you are getting the orchard experience and less chemicals on your fruit.
We had a great afternoon. We stayed for kiddie cones in their ice cream shop, which at $ 1.79 is a great deal for a decent sized scoop. Plenty for an adult or a kid.
We also fed the farm animals which the kids love to do.
Not to nickel and dime but a feed cone shouldn’t be more than a buck. I think they should change that to make it easier for parents to throw out dollar bills and be on their way instead of making change.
The kids love the animals and it really makes it feel like a farm experience.
It is my understanding that they will not have peaches this year due to crop loss from the winter as well.
We do love to support our local farms and farm markets and so this is why I think it’s important to go.
You don’t need to buy into the playground if you don’t want but please do pick your fruit in season or buy it from their farm market already picked.
I cannot replace the satisfaction and joy I get when I pick my own fruit and then cook, bake or can it with just buying it from the local grocery.

Yes, this place charges stupid crazy prices in the fall for the «family fun.» It wouldn’t be so bad if they only charged for children since there is nothing for adults to do but supervise their kids in there. Maybe if we just sent them all in unattended they would get the message ;0)
I also take my kids strawberry picking here. It is always a good time and the fun is free on weekdays in the summer.

FAMILY FUN DAY! FAMILY FUN! I came here with my sister and 9 year-​old niece Saturday morning. We decided on trekking out further north because we were going to Lake Huron and they claimed to have more stuff than the Franklin Cider Mill. Their claim was right. Though, it does not come exactly cheap. $ 9 to do all of the fun-​filled activities. $ 14 to pick a peck of apples. $ 5 for 10 minutes of freaking pony riding. REALLY?! Why is nature so freaking expensive these days?
I’ve never gone apple picking so this was a treat. Depending on the season, you can pick anything from strawberries, peaches, cherries to pumpkins in the fall. To kill time because the tractor takes 20 minutes to come back and forth into the apple orchards, we decided to fork over the duckets for some family fun adventure time.
They have an indoor maze that was labeled some kind of black hole maze. My niece was scared and I was jumping up and down enthusiastically to go inside. It was not scary. It was the entire ‘Star Wars’ soundtrack I think from ‘Attack of the Clones’ played inside of a dark room with disco balls, a strobe light and planks of black wood nailed up to try and trick you into getting lost. Which you’d have to be 5 to get lost in. IT WAS SO FREAKIN AWESOME in the bad/​funny kind of way.
There was a petting zoo as well which accommodated pens for two asses, a pony, a herd of goat and sheep, chickens & roosters, and a couple of Cornish hens. Dirty beasts. They were more calm than I expected them to be. There’s also a playground, a giant stack of hay to roll down, tires to climb through, an enormous slide made out of tires that I totally went down. Then of course there is the little bakery hosting shelves of jars of jams and various pickled things and condiments, pies, cider donuts, and cider. I think they also make fudge and ice cream here but we went with the cider and donuts because its that time of year and it was 40 degrees when I woke up. The apple picking was fun. You definitely get your money’s worth by filling up that sack. Also, don’t be shy at sampling a few because you might get a ‘bad apple’. I bet Halloween is awesome here as well.

I have not been to the petting zoo, gone apple picking… or enjoyed any of the other options available at Westview. I’m very sorry. But I am very very very very grateful to the genius that is Westview. I happened upon this location after performing in the Romeo Peach Fest parade when a few colleagues and I stopped in to pick up some cider and donuts.
Two words.
Peach. Donuts. Other donuts pale in comparison to these delicious morsels of peachy donut goodness. I crave these things. It’s so bad that I will go buy a dozen, devour half of them before I get home and hoard the remaining ones like I’m the donut-​obsessed bastard child of Gollum and the Hamburgler. They are unlike any other donut you have had or will ever have. They’re a bit chewier that your standard cider mill donut, but it’s so delicious… and there are little bits of peaches… nom nom nom.
From what I understand, they also make other fruit varieties of donuts, but I have not had the opportunity to try them. For the last couple years, I have not been able to participate with the Romeo parade, but have made the trip or have sent family on a peach donut pilgrimage to fulfill my addiction.
Furthermore, it’s January, I probably can’t get these donuts until September, MAYBE August if I’m lucky… and I’m already craving them and wishing for fall.
I love you Westview. Thank you for your donut amazingness. You deserve a medal.

This place could be fun for a while day for the family, We did not officially go into the petting zoo and the greater parts of this Farm but can tell it would be entertaining. It’s neat to go in the Barn see then machines work with the apples, the Fudge house and separate baking house is nice to but all three locations sell the same stuff. I wish we had more time to look around but I would recommend this place to try out for yourself!

I’ve been coming here each year for the past four years and have watched this place grow/​charge more each year.
This year was ridiculous! Each time has been during the week, so I’ve never been charged an admission fee. That must be a weekend thing.
The only fee we paid was to pick apples and that depended on the size bag we wanted to fill. A peck was $ 12. I did notice that on the weekend the price of the bag goes up.
We were thinking about picking pumpkins when we saw that the largest pumpkins would be $ 30 each, and they’re not even that big! I remember picking pumpkins in years past and thinking it was real reasonable, almost a steal of a deal. We stopped at a road side pumpkin stand on the way home today to find similar pumpkins for $ 17, just to give you an idea of how much they’re overcharging.
We fed the animals and noticed a sign stating it was $ 5 to enter the barn. We walked through without paying today but I bet you that’s another weekend charge.
Employees were friendly, cider was tasty, and donuts were delicious, but I think I’m going to try another orchard next year.
