History

Established in 2009.

Founded in 2009 by Brian Fitzgerald and Garret Plunkett, Suburban Solutions was a marriage of relentless party logistics from our university days and our wholehearted desire to break free from the confines of our cubicles. With a ’98 Chevy Suburban and a burning desire to achieve more, we got our start with a few referrals from family and friends. Word spread quickly of two clean-​cut, young, professionals that moved furniture and performed junk-​outs with a smile! As business blossomed, we began to analyze the competition and were shocked by the lack of legitimate, customer oriented, quality service options available. Some competitors «nickel and dimed» their customers to death, while others did not respond in a timely manner, showed up hours late, destroyed furniture or held belongings hostage. From the beginning, we set out to provide stress-​free, customer centric, tailored moving and junk removal solutions that would exceed our client’s expectations!

Great communication, answers very promptly to any concerns and for quotes.
Clearly defined, the job summary states everything the team will do (but my team exceeded what was written, that is how you make customers happy).
Reasonable price, it’s a competitive market so the price is about what anyone would expect.
Overall service, the service was great. Both members of our assigned team were very well mannered young men, efficient and thoughtful. They communicated any concerns, then went corrected anything and made sure the items were handled with care.
I would definitely recommend this company. Keep up the great work.

Very happy that we called Suburban Solutions for our two-​block move this weekend after having had an equally great experience two years ago. Vinnie and his crew arrived on-​time and completed the job (1+BR) in under three hours. Furniture was wrapped carefully, over 40 boxes checked for sturdiness, and king bed frame disassembled and re-​assembled. The whole crew was polite, friendly, and always in motion!

This review is from my move on Monday 5÷16÷16.
I have never used a moving company, and you hear so many horror stories, so of course I was hesitant while shopping around. I knew as soon as I got the response email with my quote that I wanted to use Suburban Solutions. Every detail was thoroughly explained, and they even have moving tips on their website. They had great communication skills leading up to my moving date, and Charlie made me feel very taken care of. I wasn’t nervous at all.
Moving day arrived and Jeff and Vinnie drove up with smiles on their faces. These guys were so great. Extremely efficient and quick. They even humored me while I talked their ears off. I kept trying to help, but they insisted that I relax and let them do the hard stuff. This helped any anxiety I was having. They took very good care of all of my belongings while packing up the truck, and helped me put everything back together in my new place. After they left I already felt like half of the unpacking was done. This was a huge relief. The entire move took 2 hours, and I was moving from DC all the way to Alexandria, VA.
I would definitely recommend Suburban Solutions, and if you get Vinnie and Jeff consider yourself very lucky and in good hands! This whole company made this process very easy and stress-​free.

So I am still unpacking from my move — but I needed to remind myself to post this. Steve and Steve who helped me moved were simply the best! The entire process from the initial quote until the final box being moved in was awesome.
The online quote request was easy to use, the only critique would be the reply email — and maybe it was my Gmail account that I couldn’t open the email correctly but outside of that there was nothing for me to complain about.
Pricing — while yes, I was able to find someone ‘relatively’ cheaper (same folks I used before from my last move), I quickly reminded myself of the job that they did and opted to go somewhere else and I am glad I did.
Side note: If you ever want to make a mover extremely happy, like what happened with these guys — surprise them with a building with a freight elevator — the look on their faces was priceless.

These guys were hands down the best movers I’ve ever worked with — I would certainly hire them again and highly recommend considering them for your next move. I’ve moved the contents of my one bedroom apartment three times (including the move with Suburban). In the two prior instances, my furniture was damaged and the move took ~5 hours. With a similar size crew Suburban was able to move everything and disassemble and reassemble my furniture in 2.75 hours — I was astonished at the speed of the move. The staff was prompt, professional, and took great care of everything and I’m happy to report I don’t have any new scratches on anything. Thank you guys a million times over it was truly a pleasure to work with each of you!

A great option in my opinion for moving furniture. I got price quotes from a couple places and Suburban Solutions had the best price/​lowest minimum hours. And I liked that I didn’t have to pay for their travel time to and from my place.
The guys doing the moving were on time, courteous, efficient and did a good job.
I’d go with them again.

This was my first time ever hiring movers so I came to Unilocal so I could contact several companies at the same time. Suburban Solutions were not only very quick to respond but they were the nicest in their communication (and gave me the cheapest estimate!)
Prior to my move they were very communicative about tips about packing and the inventory list they had for me on file.
The day of Colin and Chris showed up right on time and got to work right away packing up my place in College Park. I left to go check into my new place in Chevy Chase so I could get the keys. As I was finishing up paperwork, they called me to let me know they were done and to just meet them at my new place. They rolled up just as I was unloading my personal belongings from my car and emptied the truck efficiently and safely. Door to door I was done in 2 hours! I wish there was a 6th star to give because they were seriously awesome!

Vinnie and Marcus were the best movers I’ve ever had. Bar none! I could write a long and detailed review, but that would be a waste of time because these guys were so good that I can sum it up with a blanket statement: hire them and don’t look anywhere else!

Great experience with that guys. Nate, Collin, Jashawn, Mark, Joe were awesome. They took very good care of our stuff. They didn’t rush for the sake of getting done but I also didn’t feel like they were milking the clock. The job was much bigger than we all expected and they could have easily been frustrated. They rolled with it and we couldn’t be happier. I will recommend them to anyone.

I just requested a quote from this company. Needless to say I did this before I found the filtered out negative reviews. I am hoping that my experience will be different, however I will keep you all carefully updated throughout this process.
I submitted a detailed quote request, I received the automated response email, and I will update this once I receive the quote.
— 4÷15÷16 — I received my quote yesterday afternoon which was very fast. I took my time and reviewed it overnight. I sent my reply confirmation this morning around 10:20. I received a confirmation email for service at 10:30.
So far I cannot complain. The quote was detailed they gave tips to make your move faster and smoother. I sent a complete inventory with my quote request to I expect that my move will fall in the low to mid-​range of the quote. I have moved more that once so I know to have things packed and labeled prior to their arrival.
I am hoping things stay as positive when they arrive. I will keep you updated.
I will give 3 stars until the process is complete and then I will provide my final rating.
I moved yesterday, everything went very smooth. They were 25 min late however the time was adjusted accordingly and the rest of the move was perfect. They got the truck loaded and unloaded within their minimum estimate and my bill was the bottom end of the estimate. They sent several emails on ways to prepare I did my part and they handled theirs. I will be using them again and recommending them to friends. Best part was that everyone spoke English I was able to have conversations with everyone of the guys and they were all very kind and respectful of me and my items! Great Job Guys Keep it up!

These guys relieved a lot of my moving stress. Brian and Charlie were very responsive with scheduling and supplies. Their detailed lists of Dos and Don’ts idiot-​proofed the process. The quote was explained well and was much better than competitors I’ve used before.
Nate and Steve were our movers. Having some awful moving experiences in the past, I wasn’t holding my breath, but I wound up super impressed by their professionalism, politeness, and strength. These two moved massive items very quickly and with a smile on their faces.

Whether it’s 1,000 yards or 1,000 miles, moving is still a pain. While my move was a short distance, and I could handle the boxes and small stuff myself, I really needed some help with the furniture.
I looked on Unilocal!to find the better-​rated companies. I settled on Suburban Solutions because they answered my call promptly, made the process of ordering super easy, and were very courteous and clear on the phone.
The two young men they sent were prompt, neat, courteous and really knew their stuff. They got my move finished in less than the two hours allotted; in fact they were done in less than 90 minutes! I am extremely happy with the job they did. They took great care with each piece. They were careful to put everything where I wanted it and even set up the bed exactly the way I needed. All in all, it was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend Suburban Solutions for anyone who needs movers in the DC metro area.

Wow!!! I have never worked with a moving company so prompt and FAST. James and Vinny handled our 3 stop move this past Saturday and I will definitely recommend to anyone moving within the DC area. These guys are the real deal! Thank you for making our move less stressful and disassembling/​reassembling our furniture so quick.
Chris and Steve also moved my sister last week. They were so fast and moved everything of a 2BR in a little over an hour to another apartment in the same building. Will definitely recommend!
