As a parent of two young children, a local law enforcement officer, and being active within the local schools, I am all too aware of the dangers that are ever-​present in today’s society. My goal is to facilitate the realization that events like the ones listed to the right are increasingly common and to educate on ways to prevent and minimize risk. They are not exclusive to one area, demographic, time of year, or even time of day. As an employer, to limit your liability, in case tragedy strikes, it is important to show that steps have been taken to protect the workplace from exterior and interior threats. This includes proper exterior safety measures as well as up to date emergency training for staff.
