History

Established in 2012.

I started my pest control business because I wanted to be in an industry that was prodimently owned or operated by males. I have been in the business for several years and I can honestly say I’m learning every day. I love what I do and want to continue to serve my customers the best way I know how.

(service in May 2015) Absolute worst service I have ever experienced. I was living in a row house on H street and we had a problem with some mice. We called for an assessment and to have our house treated, I even left work early to meet her and she was 30 minutes late with no phone call. This I could have completely ignored because it was in the middle of rush hour, but it was the general lack of customer service, knowledge, and effectiveness that really stood out.
–furniture was moved and not put back into place
–her trash was left all over the kitchen and used our peanut butter as bait
— she literally duct taped a grocery bag to an exhaust vent where an old dryer was and didn’t say anything about it until we discovered it
–her treatments didn’t work (she came back 2 additional times to just lay more sticky traps) and she was incredibly rude the each time.
–i asked questions regarding typical mouse behaviors and how her treatments could fix our problem (Ive worked with them since graduate school) and she had no response or knowledge except repeating that the sticky traps help and that my roommate needed to clean the clothes off her floor, which she said was why we had mice.
Absolutely horrible experience, coupled with zero customer service skills and we still had mice.

I have used EJ twice now, and I’ve been very happy with her services. I first called her in the spring about a carpenter bee problem. EJ analyzed where the bees were nesting and filled the holes. It took a couple of visits, but her treatments took care of the issue and we were all so relieved! More recently, I called EJ to come dispose of a dead rodent. EJ arrived within fifteen minutes and took care of the issue, no problem. When you have a pest problem, you want someone to answer the phone and come take care of it immediately. EJ is that person. Response, reliable, and absolutely fearless when it comes to pests. Also, it is always a pleasure to support a woman-​owned business. Highly recommended.

I posted my original review on 11÷21÷15. Also on 11÷21÷15, the owner of the company posted a response stating, «We put a money order in the mail also for a small refund.» Today, I received a money order in the mail for $ 20. That envelope was postmarked 11÷23÷15, two days after the owner’s response. I have now received a refund of less than 10% of what I paid for a service that did not fix the problem and during which the technician misled me about the work he was doing. So I paid $ 190 ($ 210 minus the $ 20 refund) for the service from EJ’s, and then an additional $ 150 to the handyman who actually did fix the problem. But I promised the owner of EJ’s that I would update the review if I did receive any partial refund, so I am updating the review now.

EJ did a bed bug treatment about two months ago and the issue was resolved as she had promised. She was very professional and even came out again when I thought the bed bugs were back but it turned out that it wasn’t actually bed bugs so the treatments had actually fixed the problem.

I wish I could write a raving review to match the many reviews I read, which was the reason I selected this local business to service our ant issue. Our initial treatment did not completely treat the issue but, a second treatment appears to have fixed that. My positive experience was: the technician was eager to rectify our issue after she learned our first treatment didn’t work and it’s been a week since our second treatment with not one ant sighting! Yeah!
We didn’t have the best experience with this company. I won’t list the reasons because maybe we are an isolated incident. The many positive reviews preceding ours should outweigh our one experience.

Ej is truly provides exceptional service and is genuinely just a good human being. I’ve used Ej for over the past year for routine pest control for my apartment building which I inherited with a pest problem. Through it all she has managed to navigate dirty tenants, clean tenants, construction, and whatever issues arise while always remaining courteous and professional. She is always available and responsive to any concerns. Her work is guaranteed and will follow up until the problem is resolved. Ej’s pest control is also a local minority owned business that provides equal if not better service than larger names at affordable prices. I am pleased that my pest situation is now under control and will keep working with her to ensure it stays that way! Thanks Ej!

EJ was great today. I called her last week as I was heading out the door for a business trip and ran across a mouse in my kitchen. !! I landed late at night, called her (she answered)!, and was quick to schedule the visit. She arrived and was very committed to making sure she understood the problem and addressed it with a combo of traps, steel wool/​foam, and recommendations for my handyman. She was so determined to get back into my kitchen wall that she at one point had the oven on its belly. Very thorough, wanted to make sure I was happy. Great friendly personality too. We had a fee laughs.

The worst. Came to treat my apt for roaches. The woman hardly was interested in where I was trying to tell her the roaches were coming from. Instead, she carelessly poured her treatment everywhere, not caring about getting it on my belongings at all. She even left a dead roach just chilling on the floor. She wasn’t professional, and charged me more than the initial quote. What’s worse is that now, there are more roaches than ever before. Unprofessional, lazy, uncaring, and ineffective, on top of being expensive. Avoid at all costs

For $ 295 I expected more. I have a major problem with field mice in my house. EJ’s came out quickly only to set Glue traps w/​peanut butter and put steel wool in some of the apparent holes. I could’ve done that for much less. The lady did not check any other areas aside from the ones I indicated and she was explicit in saying she would not return to pick up traps. I called back to schedule a 2nd visit under my 30 day warranty, booked the appointment, and no one showed up or called. So now I’m out $ 300 and still have mice rampant in my house and will have to call another exterminator.

EJ was very sweet, and arrived on time. I’d contacted her for a mouse issue, when Biotech Pest Control (our usual company) was unresponsive (kept responding to Unilocal messages telling me to call, but never picked up the phone).
EJ used what looked like the copper Brillo Home Depot sells for $ 5 to seal a few holes she found in our home and set out a few traditional $ 6 mouse traps (using our own peanut butter). For $ 250 I expected a lot more. At least an electronic mouse trap or three. Or, a lower price for the services rendered.
Overall, a very kind and personable technician, but extremely expensive. Time will tell if the holes EJ found and sealed keep the pests out. That my friends, will be well worth the funds. Time will tell, and I’ll be sure to take advantage of EJ’s 20-​day warranty.

Clementina and her technician were efficient and on the spot quickly. I called for a termite problem on Friday night at 8pm after Terminix missed their 5 to 7 window and kept putting me on hold. What a relief when Clementina showed up at 1030 on Saturday morning at a perfect interval for her 10 to noon window. They began work immediately after I agreed to her terms. Professional and minimal disruption to my Saturday. Will sign up for regular maintenance with EJs going forward.

We came home to find that while absence, gnats had moved in! Gnats out the Wazoo! In panic, I turned to Unilocal and choose EJ’s Pest Control. I made the call and was surprised to find and hear more about gnats than I ever imagined. My next surprise was to have them say they could be at the house in 2 – 3 hours. WOW! The only thing EJ’s couldn’t control was the DC traffic and the delays associated with the WWII Vintage Plane Flyover. But, EJ kept me posted on location and ETA.
EJ arrived at the door armed and ready for gnat attack and conquer. And attack she did! After the first treatment we had piles of dead gnats at the source and throughout the treated areas. As promised, within a few hours there was not visual or odor evidence of the treatment, only dead gnats. I was impressed with their knowledge, experience, and most of all, RESULTS! Although EJ was readily available to provide service for bed bugs in my home, the treatment didn’t work. After several attempts, I still had bed bugs and was refused a refund. I continued to contact EJ and it became increasingly frustrating that she had no answers and was not sensitive to my needs as a customer.
I would not recommend EJ’s services to others only because customer service is everything. Her product did not serve it’s purpose and nothing was done about it. Horrible!

I called EJ at 12pm this week and she was able come by the same day to take of some major bed bug issues at my condo. EJ was very responsive when I called and was flexible to work with me even though she had a packed schedule that day.
She didn’t charge me extra for patching up a hole with appliable concrete that she brought with her. Her prices and offer was comparably lower than the competitions and she offered 2 treatments for roaches/​mice/​and bed bugs. I got a really good and great service!
Day 3 now and the bed bugs are gone and my roommates are happy that they haven’t had any issue so far. She will come treat again next week and I will look forward to seeing her again.

I had bed bugs so I called EJ and within an hour and a half she was at my apartment. Very prompt and very nice. She answered any questions I had, was quick to respond to emails/​phone calls, and best of all the bed bugs were taken care of.
Highly recommend.
