Martin was outstanding. He was quick, thorough and reasonably priced. We will definitely go to him for all of our future roofing needs. I’d recommend his services to anyone.

This review is way overdue. I had a small leak from a skylight at my house and had two other of roofers come by to take a look. One never got back to me with an estimate, and the other (with high ratings on Unilocal) gravely told me that I needed an entire new roof within 2 years, but that he could do it and give me a great deal (yeah right. I knew the roof was basically new and the inspector from when I purchased the house said it was in great condition).
Martin came by at the agreed upon time (already a plus in my book) and quickly diagnosed the problem – the tar and patching wasn’t done properly by the previous owner at the one spot. He invited me up on my roof and pointed out a few other preventative maintenance things that he could do (which were consistent with what my inspector and other roofer had said), like caps over the vents, flashing, and some general patch work. And compared to the other quote I had received, his prices were way below the others.
I hired Martin and he did a fantastic job and I haven’t had any leaks from that spot, even with the intense rainstorms from this past summer. But what really impressed me is that Martin went above and beyond and cleaned out my gutters, and adjusted them to the proper angle so they would drain properly without charging me.
He has a great attitude, is laid back, and responsible. I highly recommend.

Used him twice first time was satisfactory. Second time he did a half assed job. Won’t call him again, or recommend him.

My gutters have been over flowing with all the rain, so I emailed WGH and Martin contacted me the next day. I gave him my address and he was in the area and stopped by. He inspected my gutter and showed me pictures of the debris that was clogging them. He quoted me a fair price and cleaned them and replaced the old leaf guards right on the spot. He was courteous, prompt and reasonably priced. I had to leave before he finished the job so he texted me pictures of the finished work.

Martin is a true professional and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I give Martin and WGH my highest recommendation (which probably means more for a roofer than for other service providers since I have several West Coast-​based roofers in my family and know a little bit about the industry).
First, the quote. Martin arrived 5 minutes early for the free appraisal, which is something that you don’t see very often and really came in handy since I was trying to squeeze the appraisal in before work. He quickly assessed the roof, took many pictures and very clearly explained the work that needed to be done. His assessment aligned with the home inspection report that we received when we purchased the home a few months ago. His quote for refinishing the roof, installing gutter drains, and sealing/​flashing the chimney and plumbing vents was about what I was expecting, and then he offered an unsolicited discount. This was a very pleasant surprise, and the final cost came in a fair amount below what I was fearing/​expecting.
Second, the actual work (which he just finished). Again, Martin showed up early and got right to work on a brutally hot and humid day. He wrapped up everything within about 3 hours, then again showed numerous pictures and clearly explained what he’d done and how he had done it. He offered to bring me up on the roof to show me around, but the before-​and-​after pictures and Martin’s professionalism were enough for me. There were no surprises when it came time to write him a check, either — he charged exactly the quote amount, and I was happy to pay.

I have Martin and his crew come and replace my
Roof and add ridge venting yesterday. The job was done quickly and the finished product looks amazing. The debris was cleaned up professionally and I am thrilled with the overall experience. I found them because of positive Unilocal reviews and I wanted to pay it forward.

We had a serious need for gutter repair when some recent storms caused rain water to come down the side of our house and actually leaked into our house through the windows. I called WGH in the morning and Martin came out that day to come assess and repair. All we needed was a good cleaning (thank goodness), but it was clear he wasn’t trying to scam us or charge us for additional services we didn’t need. The price seemed fair, based on what I’ve seen on other forums and being in the DC area. We’re pleased with the prompt response, the good service, and fair prices. I’d definitely recommend to a friend/​family/​neighbor.

I had high hopes with this company — WGH was recommended by a friend and they had good reviews. When I spoke to them on the phone — they seemed friendly and easy to work with. They agreed to see my roof right away.
I live in a rowhouse building that was split into condos. There is the top roof over the third story, and a second roof under the roof deck.
I’m not too impressed with the person sent to assess my roof. My roof is generally in really good condition except for a suspect area near the roof deck door. Literally a corner. Directly under this suspicious area, there is a leak in my neighbor’s condo unit.
I told him I suspect that the issue with the leak is due to the rotted framing around the roof deck door. Everything is in good condition — except literally this one spot.
I also explained that the gutters needed to be looked at.
The guy took one look for about 5 seconds and immediately recommended I replace the whole roof. He didn’t bother to check the gutters. I don’t care how good you are; it takes more than 5 seconds to make an assessment.
I tried to explain to him how that specific area had a different roof membrane, but he didn’t care to hear or to see. In fact, he became belligerent. I’ve uploaded a picture to illustrate the condition of the roof.

I have used WGH for the past two years on our townhouse. Martin has been exceptional. He’s responsive and genuinely seems to care about his work. I highly recommend him.

In the 15 years we’ve been in this house, this is the only company that has done exactly what we needed, when we needed it, and for a most reasonable price. Martin scheduled the appointment within a few days of my call and showed up on time. He quoted a very reasonable estimate and said he could do the work right then and there which he did. The most interesting thing is that he found a TENNIS BALL jammed into the highest gutter (of a four story townhouse) right at the point of the downspout. It is almost certain that the last company to «clean» the gutters put it there on purpose to ensure we would have to call them all the time to get up there and clear away whatever was blocking the downspout. Appalling. Thanks to Martin for telling me about the practice (which he has seen before) and removing the ball. We’ll be calling him regularly to clear all the leaves and debris out the gutters and downspouts and do repairs as required.

Had a very positive experience. The workers actually arrived on time. They were able to fix our gutters that same day and the cost was reasonable. I’m very happy we chose this company.

I called Martin to get an estimate on repairing a downspout which was causing some damp problems in a basement unit of our building. He came out promptly at the time we agreed. Martin is a problem solver and thought through the problem and circumstances of the downspouts and site drainage. He identify the true issue (which wasn’t what we thought it might be), proposed a solution which was cheaper than the original idea and got it done right there and then in a couple of hours.
I would definitely recommend hiring Martin and we have kept his information on hand for future building work.

He’s courteous and thorough when he speaks to you, but he seems to be on a totally different timeline from the ones that I’m familiar with. He returned my call well over a week later, and though he said he’s give me a quote, it has been at least a week yet again. Who knows when I’ll hear from him, if ever.

Martin has cleaned our gutters at our home in north Arlington for the past 2 years. He is unfailingly polite, on time, and efficient. His prices are also very competitive. I particularly like his attentiveness — he noted some loose gutters and tightened them as a matter of course. He also trimmed the ends of some branches that were extending into a gutter. He bags and removes debris and is very good about cleaning up. I recommend him without qualification.

The owner, Martin, was very helpful and knowledgeable. He evaluated a leaking roof, identified the issue along with another issue that I didn’t know about and gave me a fair price. I was so impressed with his professionalism and honesty. I highly recommend him.

Spoke with a gentleman at this business two days ago. He told me he would come by between 8−9AM today. It’s after 6:00PM and I have not heard from him or seen him yet. Maybe he got too high?

Our experience was much like Mark’s. Referred by a friend, we made an appointment for an estimate for gutter cleaning and repair, liked the quote ($ 250 for our whole house), and had the work done the very same day. Quick, courteous, very good.

Found WGH Roofing & Gutters through Service Magic. Called for a gutter cleaning estimate, and scheduled an appointment for the next day. The serviceman was polite, efficient and fast. Gutters re-​nailed and cleaned inside of 20 minutes. What really struck me was he took the time to take before and after pictures on his iPhone, and also inspected the flashing around my roof vents and chimney. Turns out they were in dire need of repainting and re-​sealing. For an extra $ 50, he knocked that out.
I highly recommend this business — they are small but very efficient!
