Terrible service. Brought in my Tissot watch to change the battery. The guy was unpleasant and lacking simple customer service skills. The only thing he told me is that his credit card machine is not working and I will have to pay cash. I took the watch off my wrist and gave it to him. He took it to the back and came out in ten minutes with my watch completely deformed with the band not attached and said he cannot attach the band back. Then he almost yelled at me saying that I hit my watch and deformed it and then brought it to him. How was it possible if I was wearing the watch when I came in. I asked him to fix it and when I came back in 2 days to pick it up, he put in longer pins just to barely have the band attached to the deformed watch. He did not apologized and did not even blinked when charged me $ 15. I cannot wear this watch now and will have to take it somewhere to fix. Please avoid this place by all means.

Scratched the heck out of my watch while replacing the battery. It’s not a huge deal since they’re on the back, but this place seemed to lack the tools/​experience to open a common watch brand. Cost was $ 13, cash only, and it took ten minutes.

Welp… I didn’t even get a chance to go because when I called to ask pricing and availability the person who answered said the «credit card machine was not good so bring cash.» Sort of like when cab drivers try to bully you into paying cash when they HAVE to take your card. I pushed back and eventually he just said it was broken. Sooo, nope, not giving them my business.

I’m not saying I would take my prized Rolly or Tag in here for serious work because if you can afford one of those, you shouldn’t be in a mall shop in the first place. I went in to have them take out a few links in my new Bulova and everything went smooth. It took 8 minutes and it was $ 10.60 out the door. Not bad. I recommend them for simple battery replacement and band adjustment and replacement.

I needed a new strap for my watch and not only did the owner give me a spare, but he did not charge me anything despite my repeated attempts to pay.

Terrible. I have a small desktop clock from Kate Spade that’s motor had stopped working, and I thought I’d try a watch repair place to see if it was fixable. This was near my work so I decided to give it a shot and I wish I had never gone there.
1. It took my THREE times to even drop it off. Every time I went (during business hours) I was told the repair man was not there so they weren’t sure if they could accept it or not. I would be told a specific time to come back (say, «He’ll definitely be here on Wednesday afternoon») and every time it was the same deal.
2. Finally, the repair man was there and looked at this small simple clock and said they could simply order a new part and replace it. I was told it would be ready in a week and I’d get phone call.
3. More than a week goes by and I don’t hear anything. So I call the store, and am told they haven’t been able to fix it yet. Check back in a week.
4. I check back in a week and am told they’ve had to special order a part — and they will call me and let me know when it’s ready.
5. Fast forward many weeks, still i have heard NOTHING. I finally call them again and am told «oh, we couldn’t find the part, we can’t fix it.» So what happened last time when you told me you had ordered the part? It’s now been MONTHS and I could have gotten this taken care of much faster somewhere else.
Terrible communication and customer service. Unable to repair a small clock. Don’t waste your time.

Definitely had a good experience here. I had the straps on my Hamilton replaced. I even came back, the same day, to have him replace my clasp. Quick service.

Unilocal! Get your sh*t together! How does this place have an average rating of 4 Stars?
This place is terrible! Brought him three watches for battery changes. That’s it. New batteries. Unscrew some screws with tiny screw drivers. Add battery. I’d do it myself if I had tiny screw drivers.
He said they’d be ready in three hours. Ok. Fine. Seems like a while, but ok. Three hours.
I call in three hours. He tells me he can’t do them. What?! His watchmaker will have them done Monday. 5 days from now. Why’d you take the watches from me and why’d you tell me three hours?!
Such a waste of time. Avoid this place.
I’m going to go buy some tiny screw drivers.

Just got a few links removed from my new watch for ten dollars here. Quick and efficient!

Not a chatty fellow, but he replaced batteries for two watches in a timely manner and only charged me $ 24 for both, while every store I went to in the mall wanted to charge me $ 20 just for one watch.

Great. And so nice. I was in a big hurry, having heard a long spiel at another store. Needed some links removed and the date changed. It was a gift, so I had not had time to figure this out. They were busy but made time for me. The link was still too tight, and they fixed it right away by putting in another link from the one they took out. Thank you for making this so easy.

(Shops at 2000 Penn) I started taking my watches here for repair back in ’97-’98 (Hi, Sharon!) and have never had an issue. From link/​band adjustments to dead batteries to shattered Fossil faces, they can fix them ALL. Just plain good, affordable service.

It’s not cheap but it’s quick and easy.
$ 15 to get a new battery in one watch.
$ 10 to take a link out. This bothered me since most stores in the mall will do it for free and it took the guy 3 minutes. It was convenient, so I payed for it.

Came in to get a watch band fixed. A little piece had been broken, and I thought it could be repaired. When I mentioned this, the guy kind of laughed derisively. «Alright,» I thought, «the good reviews certainly aren’t for the service.»
But he then found a black leather band that fit my watch, showed me, got my approval, and had it on and back to me in two minutes. The band and work was $ 26 total, which isn’t terrible. I’d go back for the quick work, but I’m not expecting a smile.

A bit of a time addict (you should see me pounce for the metro train one of these days), I came in desperately wanting to get my watch going as not having it functional was cramping my commuting routine. Well prepared to part with it for half the day, I indicated to the man behind the counter my problem and – before I could even ask when it will be ready and for how much – he disappeared in the back.
Mouth still open mid a would-​be sentence and a bit curious about this approach to customer service, I waited no more than 3.5 minutes. The man re-​emerged with my revived watch and charged me ~$ 12. Mind you, during this time, he was able to serve 3 customers in parallel – me and someone else while addressing questions the other in-​store visitor was asking and answering the phone. All this, while looking very casual and not at all rushed (aka, mad skillz).
Although I dare hope that the battery lasts a long time, future watch repairs are coming here for sure. A little treat greeting me on my walk back: in that short time, he even managed to switch the date on my watch! Now that’s attention to detail!

Do not trust them with your watch. I brought in a pretty simple Kenneth Cole watch to change the battery (I’ll post photos). He took it in back to «his guy» and told me to come back later. When I came back later, after twice being told it wasn’t ready, I found out that his guy had cracked the crystal trying to put the battery cover on.
His excuse? «The crystal is curved and it doesn’t quite fit the tool right.» Yep, the watch repair shop doesn’t have the right tools to repair watches. He offered to order a new crystal, so I accepted. An hour later, the watch stopped ticking. Brought it back and had to leave it in order to get fixed.
The new crystal came in, so I brought it back yesterday to have it changed. Lo and behold, when they replaced the crystal they scratched the black backing where it says «New York.»
It’s not worth the frustration dealing with this incompetent «repair» shop. Go somewhere else, especially if you want to get your watch back in one piece.
Oh, and he wanted to charge $ 15 for a $ 3 battery, even after telling me he wouldn’t charge for labor due to the trouble.

Shame on you Unilocalers for giving this place such high reviews. I went to this place to get my watch fixed, the guy took it to the back and all I could hear was his struggle trying to get the cap open, I asked him to please be careful and not scratch the back, he came out and handed the watch and a blade that he was trying to open the watch with. I told him that all I wanted was for him to be careful and he said that if I wanted I could do it myself, so just took the watch and left disgusted by their service. I found another shop and the first thing the watchmen noticed was the marks left on my watch by someone who didn’t know how to open it. If watch repair is what you need go to 1800 I St. NW right next to the liquor store, you’ll get the best service and experience

What a nice experience. The store is nestled in with random boutiques and restaurants inside the 2000 Penn shopping center. There are chairs so you can wait if you are in a hurry. I dropped off my two watches and picked them up later in the day (didn’t have time to wait).
I had two watches – one basic, one designer. Both battery replacements cost $ 12 and removing a link from the designer watch cost $ 5. (The salesman informed me that its usually $ 10). When I went to pick the watches up, I noted an ongoing discussion about a watch battery – the guy knew what he was talking about and didn’t pressure the customer into a purchase.
Also – they have a pretty large variety of leather watch bands, and if you watch is beyond repair they have a small selection of Skagen, Bulova, Citizen and other watches in that price range. Would recommend and will return!

I concur with the other reviewers, but I’ll add that the waiting area and shop was more upscale than what I thought just by reading the reviews. I was picturing a dingy basement store with an alley entrance, but in fact it’s an immaculate show room housed in an indoor-​mall type area.
Comfortable place, to-​the-​point customer service.

I brought my watch in here to have the battery replaced. Turns out the watch had two dead batteries because it has graphics in it that I guess require two batteries. He replaced them while I waited for under $ 20. Awesome.
Only reason for not getting the fifth star is that he didn’t entirely pop the piece back into the band so I had to mess with it I bit to do it myself. Also, he was a bit rough with the watch and I watched helplessly as he tried pushing the watch piece back into the band (which he failed to properly do… see previous sentence).
