Description

Specialties

We come to your home to provide pet health care in Montgomery and Prince George counties and DC.

Our team of veterinarians and technicians provide personalized health care for your four-legged companions. This care may include vaccinations, blood work, diagnostics, and/or laboratory tests. Our visits typically last an average of 45 minutes so that you and your pet receive the attention and care they deserve. Our typical patients are cats and dogs that do not like to travel or do not enjoy the vet’s visit. Pets that are relaxed in their own home environment allow for a more through examination. Our team may also provide care for non-emergency illnesses.

When it is time to say good-bye to your beloved pet we are available to answer questions and walk you through the euthanasia process. We believe that every pet deserves to spend their final moments in their own environment, surrounded by their family.

We work hand-in-hand with a pet memorial service. This service may offer cremation services as well as burial services at the site of the pet memorial park.

History

Established in 2013.

VETdispatch, Mobile Veterinarians, started in NJ in 2009 when Dr. Debbie Elliott began offering veterinary house calls to patients that do not travel well or simply cannot travel to the hospital. Her vision is to be able to offer pet health care in the home, no matter what state the pets reside. Dr. Monica Maa shares this vision and joined VETdispatch in MD and DC in March 2013. Some of the people that have benefited from this service include disabled people, seniors, those who do not drive, and mothers with children. Truly, the real benefit is to the pets. Cats simply do not travel well. Many will vocalize, become ill and hide for days after the trip. Senior dogs struggle to get into the vehicle for transport. People faced with these and similar situations feel guilty and stressed because they are not able to offer their pets’ health care. Now, there is a solution, call The Less-Stress VETS to come to your home and provide veterinary health care.

Manager

Dr. Monica Maa knew at an early age that she wanted to pursue a career as a veterinarian. After she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000 from The College of Veterinary Medicine Cornell University and moved to Chicago to work at a small animal practice. Three years later she and her fiancé moved to Washington, DC, where she worked at a small animal and exotics practice for several years. Dr. Maa’s special interests include exotic small mammal medicine, ultrasonography, dentistry, and preventive medicine. She is excited about house call practice because it allows her to devote the necessary time and attention that every patient deserves. When not at work she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. She lives in Prince George’s County with her wonderful husband (Mensa), two beautiful daughters (Genesis and Makeda), two dogs (Blade and Pinky), and a cat (Elroy).
