USO

I just want everyone to know something about being a veteran. The state of NV now puts VETERAN in your license if you can show you are a Veteran. I gave them my discharge papers and wallah.
So yesterday to show my pride I stopped in for a cup of coffee at the USO at BWI airport. Of course I was going to give a little extra to help those worse off than me. I told the lady I didn’t see where I would sign and she said just put your name down and we would figure it out. So I did. The lady then said show me your ID and I proudly pulled out my Drivers License from NV that shows I’m a Veteran. She said oh we don’t take licenses. I said it shows that I’m a VETERAN right here. She said no I cannot accept this. She said if you have a DAV ID then you can come in. I could have shown my CAC to show that I was a Government contractor but I accepted her rejection like many veterans around the US does.
For the first time in my life I finally see what our veterans struggle with just because I wanted a coffee.

Cozy and comfortable! Food, drinks, coffee, yummy snacks (healthy & the good chocolate stuff lol!), Internet, reading material, massage chairs, television, toiletries, and extremely sweet staff. Everything the other airline lounges offer but this one is just for soldiers and their families! Military Proud!

Located near Soth West Terminals. Small and cozy USO. Very nice workers. There was no water (I think they were out not that they don’t provide water) but they had everything else. Pizza, crackers, chips, soda, juice, frozen meals etc. would only recommend more healthy options like fruit. But hey its free, so take what you can get!
There is also a seating area with TV, magazines and free drinks. Really appreciate this free service. Thank you!

The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming. A great place to relax and pick up some snacks and soft drinks. There are tons of magazines and books to read, along with a TV and two computers. Toys, games, and cards are also provided. Chairs are comfy, plus there are two massager chairs in the back. This well-​lit lounge can be just what is needed before, after, or between flights.

Excellent USO, with good chow, Internet access, printers, movies, magazines, 2 reclining massage chairs and cold water/​sodas. The staff is super friendly too! It’s located in Terminal A at National Airport.

I was directed to the USO to give a donation for a soldier in Iraq during the holidays. The USO’s primary mission is to benefit men and women in uniform and their families with a wide range of services. Contributions help keep these programs going. My donation was used to send a gift box to a soldier I have never met.
It is nice to know that we can support the soldiers, regardless of how we feel about the war.
