University of the District of Columbia

UDC, also known as the University of the District of Columbia, is an urban land-​grant university. They offer a variety of programs and degrees, including their notable law school, which is ranked in the top 10 in the U.S. I was able to visit UDC for a mathematics competition, and the staff were all accommodating and welcoming. Parking is a little tricky, as the garage is stated to be located on Connecticut; however, it is actually located off of Van Ness, by the bookstore.

I’m currently enrolled here and I love it! I have professors that care and the administration I encountered has been nothing but professional! I love the diverse culture here and the students are entertaining My major is Education and I love my class and classmates!

So I currently attend here. Based from my experience this is what’s the good and bad
PROS:
Cheap and accredited
Good for working adults and high school children with no financial support or great GPA’s
Professors can be supportive
Has program’s most college’s have sports (Track, Basketball & Soccer)
Club’s and Organizations
CONS:
Administration
Slacking in the IT department such as E-​Books, Computers and the Banner System is always down
Classes can be dropped due to low enrollment which can prolong your degree

Administration is terrible. I studied at UDC in Spring 2012 and before transferring to another college I ordered my transcripts to be mailed there. They never came. I called in about 3 month, and asked to send them again, and they never came again! Left tens of voicemails. No one cares.
Now I’ve been trying to get my 1098-​T form for about 2 month. From their Facebook page I was first referred to myudc, and then to David Garnett, who is the director of accounts. I emailed him, asking to send the form and he responded that it was sent to my old address, which I btw updated before I left. I emailed back explaining that I’ve never gotten it and gave my new address. Followed up twice, and never heard back. I called at least 20 times today, and only God knows how many times during the 2 months period. Today I emailed to other staff member, let’s see how it goes.
This review is for administration only. During my time there I was lucky to have great professors and enjoyed classes.
