Come here for breakfast all the time, and stopped in for dinner tonight now that they extended their hours. The salmon salad was delicious, just like everything I’ve ever had there. Fresh, high-quality ingredients and very reasonable prices. Can’t wait to try the cheese plate.

Breakfast is awesome! The omelet is amazing with a red spicy sauce and the beet salad served warm is delicious. I always get coffee and my BF enjoys the pastries but had not had breakfast. The lunch and dinner entrees look good and they serve wine beer and drinks! Staff is super friendly and nice. Such a nice place to have in the neighborhood!

The employees could be more friendly and the food could be more fresh. There is no «hello» when you walk in the door and no «thanks for coming in» when you leave.

What a delight! As you enter you are welcomed with street art photography by locals, Art Deco interior, yellow Tiger Lily’s and the most beautiful owner that goes by the name of Brhan! We ordered the Ethiopian veggie omelet with home fries. The omelet was cooked to perfection… fluffy like the clouds and layered with so many flavors. The home fries were the perfect pick me up not to be confused with your mothers boring potatoes that you eat out of guilt but more like a trip down memory lane to when your grandmother cooked them! :-) I cannot wait to come back and try more on the menu. We are greatly satisfied.

Same place as the Batter Bowl Bakery, but the name changed. Excellent coffee, good sandwiches, a nice environment and ambiance. It’s a good place to come and study the afternoon away — which is why you’ll find more than a few law students here, since we all live in the neighborhood. Owners and staff are very friendly as well!

What a treat to have a local bakery and delightful café on H-Street! I remember when this place was under a different management as «Batter Bowl Bakery,» and I can assure you that UniBistro made many renovations and changes to the menu that makes this my new go-to café in the H– Street corridor. I love the various selections of coffee – which is made from the very excellent Illy Italian coffee. I also enjoy the various types of french pastries which are always flaky and fresh. But don’t think this is limited to quick bites. They have an excellent array of breakfast foods and lunch sandwiches such as spinach, smoked salmon, or bacon quiche with a side of fresh fruit. Or, an avocado-hummus sandwich served with a side of fresh arugula salad. There’s way more to go on about, so I strongly recommend you go check it out in person. Oh and one more note, the new staff is also amazing and eager to provide you with the best service!

Excellent place to go for coffee or breakfast. The breakfast burger is amazing, including the Ethopian-spiced«special sauce» they put on it. We will definitely be back. The coffee drinks are quality and are made with care.

The iced coffee tastes really bad as they just leave it in plastic cups in the fridge. Ordered egg and cheese on a croissant. The croissant was decent but the cheese was fake spread and the egg was seriously undercooked. Not my recommendation for breakfast in DC because there are numerous other places.

Love this little café. Apple turnovers were delicious. Got the vanilla chai, 2 turnovers and quiche of the day. Wish the quiche was a bit bigger but it was tasty. Deducted a star because I didn’t really like that the pastries sit out uncovered.

Their tuna melt is AMAZING. Definitely not your average tuna melt,(I don’t think they use canned tuna!) My husband’s favorite is the turkey club. Also their homemade minestrone is awesome, very unique, bold flavor and perfect for these cold rainy days. Normally they run out of it by the afternoon so I would recommend grabbing some by lunchtime! Because everything is made fresh, give them a few extra minutes to prepare it, it’s worth it!

So yummy! The prices were very fair and all the pastries we sampled were very good. Pecan croissant, tiramisu, chocolate croissant and chocolate suffle. All were divine and perfectly balanced. Try it out!!! It’s a small business and I totally support this one.
