Twin Dragon :(what a disappointment. I’ve been going to this establishment for about 20 years and their egg rolls use to be WAYWAYWAY better. They were fatter fresher and seasoned. I bragged about this place to my co-workers and after I dragged them there on our lunch break, I bit into a tasteless basic downsized eggroll. I should have purchased a tiny eggroll from a closer carryout for all that work. I’m sad to say, all good things do come to an end.

How am I just finding out about this place?! I’ve had the lunch portion of General Tso’s chicken with a shrimp egg roll. Delicious, great serving size, great quality. Loved it. Can’t wait to explore the rest of their menu!

Three words: BESTEGG-ROLLSEVER! They are a meal unto themselves, seriously, they are at least as long as an iPhone 6s. These delicious not-so-little super rolls are roughly 3in. In diameter. Décor is jade green paint and black moulding, linoleum floor with mismatched chairs and nothing to write home about. It’s not gonna impress a date, unless they’re a cheap date that loves egg-rolls. We order two for lunch, one for me and one for the Hubs and we are satisfied. Sooo yummy! Oh and the food is pretty good too. But I really just come for the egg-rolls, in case you couldn’t tell.

EGG Rolls, EGG Rolls, EGG Rolls Since I lived in DC I have always went to Twin Dragon To get the enormous egg rolls that they offered. This place always served fresh food. They opened in the evening and 15 minutes later, they took there phone off the hook because they received so many orders. There food was always worth the wait. I drove down there a couple of weeks ago and was not let down. Please go down and try this spot out

So sloooooooow. Very mediocre. I got the curry tofu and vegetables. It only came with a few pieces of carrots and onions. The sauce was gelatinous and basically tasteless. Egg roll big but tasteless, too.

I have been going to Twin Dragon for 20+ years and just started going back more frequently about a year ago. I admit that I’ve only tried a few dishes here but they NEVER disappoint. Shrimp Fried Rice, Combination Fried Rice is just simply delicious. The huge ass egg roll is the and I would go back simply for that. I’ve tried the Veggie, Shrimp and Chicken Egg Rolls and my favorite is the chicken and veggie one. These rolls have to be at least…5+ inches tall and filled with all kinds of yummy goodness. They have truly mastered the art of the perfect balance of filling and wrapper combined with it being huge A+++ for them! Parking can be a little difficult at times because they only have street parking, The location isn’t very inviting at all so if you base your food off of outside appearance this is not the place for you. I read a review where someone said the inside is dirty so I took it upon myself to pay extra close attention to those details the last 2 times I was there and while I did see a little dirt on the floor from the usual foot traffic, I didn’t see any dirty floors in the back where the kitchen is. Food that was stored on the counters had covers over them. Counter where they took orders was clean. Cooks washed there hands before cooking. No complaints from me. However, It would be nice if they spruced the place up some. They have a mural hanging that has been up since day one when they opened but that’s about it. The menu has been taken down so you have to read a paper menu or the one hanging in the window. So yes, there are definitely improvements to be made but that hasn’t impacted the quality and taste of there food or the great customer service I always receive. Food typically takes about 20 minutes or so before it is ready. I suggest you call ahead if you are in a super rush. I will be returning very soon to try other dishes and will update my review accordingly.

This is the place to go when in Upper Northwest DC. Hole in the wall but good carryout.

Got introduced to this spot by a DC local I was dating at the time! Fresh food best carry out ever! Everything is authentic. No yellow rice instead of fried rice like some other places in the DC area.

THEBIGGEST egg rolls I’ve ever experienced. And I think you get two for like $ 3. If not three, definitely less that $ 5, unless they’ve gone up in price. But even if they have, they’re worth it. Crispy, fresh and they don’t skimp on the filling. One egg roll is like a meal in itself. I haven’t tried anything else on their menu, but just go for the egg rolls. Like now! :)

I love the food. The Singapore noodles is awesome. The chicken wings is good too. The egg rolls are in fact humongous but it’s too much for me. Everything I tried is good except the dumplings. I’ve had better. I just wish they delivered. But it really is walking distance from my house. I’m just a Lil lazy.

One of the best kept secrets in the city. I used to live on Madison about a block over. Perfect carry out spot to run by while it’s half time during Sunday Night Football. The place could use a little cleaning but my theory goes: the dirtier the Chinese spot, the better the food. Guarantee you’ll remember that line. But anyway mates, you’ll absolutely love the baby leg sized egg rolls. Enough lifting these babies and your biceps will peak in a matter of meals! My favorite carry-out place on planet earth. Enjoy!

Their egg rolls are bigger than my dick. And tastier too… Terrible customer service but they have the best general tsos chicken I’ve ever had. If only they delivered.

This place is forrrealll! I ordered the ‘chicken and broccoli’ and my moms personal favorite, ‘shrimp fried rice with little color’ which I’m sad to say was devoured before I could stop myself to take a picture :((This place is your true neighborhood«hole in the wall» … Looks questionable, but your tastebuds will be satisfied! Portions are large too– my ‘shrimp fried rice with little color’ was flowing out of the box! Yum! Worth the wait, but if you’re an impatient person like me, you should call at least 15 minutes ahead of your arrival time!

So, although the exterior(and interior) may cause you to be apprehensive about eating here, don’t let it stop you! In any other circumstance, I would say walk the other way! However, Twin Dragon is truly one-of-a-kind. It’s been in business forever(I can remember this place as a kid). Anyway, the food is great. Specifically, their Shrimp Fried Rice; the rice is moist, flavorful, and you know you’re eating good rice when you don’t need soy sauce! Their egg rolls are my second favorite menu item – HUGE! It’s not the typical egg roll that you would get at other carry-outs. The size is almost akin to a Chipotle burrito(a little smaller), but really good. All-in-all, you won’t go wrong at Twin Dragon… after you get past the appearance, of course.

Like everyone else has said, the egg rolls are HUGE and great. I got the shrimp roll and there wasn’t much meat in it, so I will have to try a different meat next time. Still, the flavors were good and it was cooked very well. As for the other food, we tried the orange chicken, the broccoli beef, and the egg drop soup. The orange chicken and broccoli beef tasted pretty good and the flavors were great, but the meat used wasn’t the best. That’s expected from a cheap Chinese take-out place. Egg drop soup was perfect! This place definitely isn’t fine dining and you have to take out, but the food is good, the portions are huge, and the prices are pretty low. I would recommend this place if you’re around the area!

Maybe I’m just too picky but I found this place to be overrated. Yes, it’s the biggest egg roll I’ve ever had, but size isn’t everything. It wasn’t any better than any other egg roll just bigger and not as cheap(though not expensive). I ordered a chicken and broccoli and it was just ok. My girlfriend had beef fried rice that she barely touched. It’s no better than any other Chinese carry out to me.

*sigh* If only I could go here more often. My inlaws had me try this place out, they been going here since they were kids. IMO, the best shrimp fried rice EVER. I think they put crack in the rice, its so freakin good! And those monster eggrolls are no joke. The spot is sketchy, my husband won’t ever let me go there alone :-(. But if I beg him enough, he will pick me up some whenever he is uptown.

4.5 stars! THE. BEST. EGGROLLS. IN. DC. PERIOD. Anybody else tell you that, they’re lying. Sad part is, they used to be better than they are now and they are STILL the best! These are like your average eggrolls on STEROIDS! Seriously, the eggroll itself is a meal. Don’t let the dingy exterior(and interior) and the sketchy neighborhood fool you… this place is a diamond in the rough(very rough!). Everything I’ve had on the menu has been great. I’ve had countless meals from here: my family has been coming here for years, back when the parents used to run it, and it took at least 45 minutes for your order to be completed because they made everything fresh to order. Since the kids have taken over the business, the wait has been cut down to a more reasonable 20 minutes and it’s still very good food. If I’m near my old neighborhood and craving Chinese, this is my go-to spot.

The picture of the giant egg roll, and seeing someone at work with one, that is what brought me here. I’m not sure if it is just the neighborhood being old but it has a sketchy feel to it. Be sure to not park directly in front of the place because it is a bus stop/lane and they will ticket you. Inside it is kinda dirty and creepy but the staff is extremely friendly. The egg rolls were indeed giant, and come 2 per order for $ 3. They were filling but not very flavorful. The soy sauce didnt taste normal. I probably wouldnt return.

So I saw a picture of that big old egg roll and thought, I have to try that one day! Lo and behold, my trusty Unilocal app came in handy as I was only 7 minutes away at my hair salon getting pretty for the week. I thought, I’m hungry and I am too close not to stop by and check this place out! So alas, I ventured deeper into the city for this place. Upon arriving there I noticed this very non-descript carryout and thought, how bad could this place be? Umm, appearance wise, this place is awful! Dirty green walls, bulletproof plexi glass with two squares just big enough to order, pay and receive your food was just par for the course! There were signs on the plexi glass that read, «Do not eat in here!» I chuckled to myself when I first saw this sign. There were no take out menus just a couple taped to the plexi glass with plenty of handwritten signs to let you know of other items. This place literally cracked me up. However, some of the best food comes from the worst places! So I chose to carry on and place my order. I order 2 egg rolls, one shrimp and one chicken, and 3 chicken wings and mumbo sauce! I was told it would be 15 minutes! No big deal! The next guy comes up behind me to order and asks, «how long for a vegetarian lomein?» The guy working says, «everything takes 15 minutes!» Let the comedy continue! LOL! However, my order was up and I was out the door! Let me start off by saying how happy I was with my choices! I know it was only an egg roll and wings, but I was very happy with my choices and I know for a fact, I will be back there to try other items! This place is a real dive, but it is very good! It is exactly the type of place you would see in a urban area! I was pleased for sure!
