History

Established in 1991.

The Ross Center for was founded by Jerilyn Ross, MA, LICSW, in 1991. Ms. Ross was a pioneer and visionary leader in the field of mental illness. She overcame her own phobia, but it wasn’t until after she completed her graduate training that she learned that other people shared her experiences. Her vision was to bring together clinicians, researchers, and patients to advance scientific knowledge, provide training, and help those who suffer from anxiety disorders find treatment and hope. To that end, she co-founded what was then The Phobia Society, now known as the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, and served as its President and CEO for many years. Through the Ross Center she was able to realize her dream of creating a world class treatment center with the same intention, to provide state of the art treatment to those disabled by anxiety and its related disorders. The team of clinicians that she brought together has continued to advance her mission since her death in 2010.
