Meh, I’ve been to better places.
I took my car there a few weeks ago. The regular series that they performed were fine. Among other things, the AC needed to be recharged. Everything seemed fine.
Within a week, the AC had stopped cooling the air. This might be coincidence — maybe the unit failed soon after service, it can happen. I went back and he called to tell me that the problem was internal. He wanted me to take my car to somewhere else (he had no recommendation) and then come back to him so that he could do the work. It took me a while to understand that he couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but wanted me to bring it back to him to fix it. Huh?
So, in the end, I lost a day to his inability/​unwillingness to diagnose the problem, and I will not return to this mechanic.

Abed is really amazing. All these reviews are right about him! The gas is really expensive here so I wouldn’t fill up here but use the mechanic for any problems you are having.

Just bought a brand new charger and broken down in DC of all places. I took my vehicle to the closest place which was the Exxon. Got my car fixed within an hour and it was super cheap. I normally pay way more for my alternator problems. Such a relief

I just left this exxon and was very disappointed and I want warn folks they are ripping people off. I went in to buy some antifreeze. None of the brands were marked with a price. When I asked how much the Shell Antifreeze was he told me $ 20.99 I thought that price was outrageous. I asked if there was a cheaper brand he said they all cost $ 20.99. Hmmmm. I bought it and also asked if there was another place around I could buy antifreeze. He said no. When I walked out the door I noticed the ⁷⁄₁₁ across the street. They had Peak Antifreeze for $ 9.99! I bought that one and went back to the Exxon to get a refund. Here is where it got weird. First, I waited 20 minutes because the cashier went to lunch and «Manager?» didn’t know how to run refunds. When the cashier returned he scanned my item and $ 15.49 came up. He said that was the refund price. I looked at him blankly and said «But I paid $ 22.25.» He said, yea but this is what you get for a refund. I said, «Uhhh no. I don’t understand how I pay $ 22.25 for this but I only get $ 15.49.» The «manager» at this point tells the cashier to refund me my full amount. The cashier says to him he can’t because the machine is ringing up $ 15.49. The «manager» tells the cashier to do it as cash. He complies and I get my $ 22.25. Folks, they are charging people a higher price for the antifreeze than it’s supposed to be. The antifreeze is supposed to be priced $ 14.99! I will never go there not even for gas. On the plus side like a couple other reviewers said. The «manager?» was nice and polite. He apologized for the «mix-​up.» Whatever dude. Y’all ripping people off!

Just like you do with a good hairdresser, you will follow your trusted mechanic wherever he goes!
I am (mis)fortunate to own a Jeep Grand Cherokee that is getting older and showing its age by breaking down more frequently. In this situation, it’s key to have an excellent mechanic. My husband and I have been going to Abed for nearly 12 years and have yet to be disappointed.
This crew used to be in Adam’s Morgan, but moved up here to the NW of Tenleytown, Cathedral Heights, American University Neighborhoods. It’s incredibly convenient with the Tenleytown Metro a few blocks away, so you can drop your car/​truck off and head to the metro to/​from work while they work magic on your car!
Abed and his team are skilled mechanics and knows cars; this auto repair shop won’t take you to the cleaners like a dealership or some of the other places would. Fixing a broken car is expensive to begin with, but this team does it right and are exceptionally reasonable. Sure the shop is a little dirty, but like a good diner, the service and product are excellent! I send all my girlfriends there without a fear that they’re going to be taken advantage of. Fellas, you would enjoy talking cars with any of the crew there too!
This is a place I would send my grandmother to and know she would be taken care of. They fix your car and get you on down the highway with money still in your pocket for a nice meal in the neighborhood!

Let me start this review by saying the gentleman who runs the shop is very polite and I think he means well. That being said, don’t go to this shop. My Jeep Cherokee was broken into, I called my insurance company who handled much of the claim and organized a tow to a repair shop that I decided on. Initially, I wanted my Jeep to go to Guaranis and when the tow truck driver brought it there he called me to say «they can’t work on your ignition, let me bring it to my shop in Tenley Town.» Suspect, but I still said yes against my better judgement. I picked up my Jeep a couple days later, it was FILTHY, inside and out. The steering wheel and drivers side door were covered in grease and there was cigarette ash all over the seats and the interior. As I pulled away from the shop, I noticed that the lights, turn signals and hazards did not work. I came back, they fixed it on the spot. Fast forward a week later, I notice that my cruise control does not work. I took a day off from work and drove it back to the shop only to be told that they can’t work on cruise control there, so now I have to file another claim and put my Jeep back in another shop. It’s all very trying. Again, the guy who runs this shop is very polite and I don’t think he’s trying to scam anyone, he just doesn’t have good mechanics working for him and they don’t quality check their work. Do not go here for repairs.

This used to be the adams mill Exxon service shop and moved. I had to come get a battery replacement after I initially bought it at the Adams mill location. Easily got the warranty on the battery. Mechanic stopped what he was doing to help get me fixed up and out the door quickly. Great customer service.

Grossly overpriced. Avoid this Exxon station if you can. Manager offered to «work with me» on price of some maintenance repairs, when I picked the car up he was no where to be found. Like everything else in DC, sickly expensive. Head up the street to MD if you can.
