Although we had 50 minute wait it was TOTALLY worth it. I ordered the mocha adult milkshake and veggie breakfast burrito which was a huge and filling portion. The adult milkshake was ah-mazing. Hands down the best milkshake I’ve had in my life. The chocolate flavor mixed with Kahlua was top-notch. Can’t wait to come back again. Also tried the homemade blueberry cheesecake pop tarts. do not, I repeat, do not miss out on these!

Ok, so shockingly, this place lived up to the hype. Fair warning: you have to stomach the wait, which always seems to be at least 90 mins. Once we were seated service was perfect and food was amazing. We ordered a couple pop tarts(blueberry cheesecake and salted caramel), and a cheap bottle of Cava. Veggie burrito was fantastic and as good as anything I’ve had out West. My table also really enjoyed the fried chicken and the egg sandwiches. Décor inside is old-timey, and the restaurants does a great job giving that old school counter-top feeling. If you have the time to wait definitely worth a stop. If you don’t head over to the baked goods counter for a boozey milkshake or a pop-tart.

It was fun to check out the hype of Ted’s Bulletin. My husband and I sat at the bar and we must have come smack dab in the middle of the lunch rush. We waited a loooong time for our food, but luckily, we had good company at the bar and the waitstaff was attentive to our need for refills. The food was yummy and filling. I liked my omelet that was filled with veggie goodness. My neighbor must have liked the looks of it as well since he asked me for a recommendation!

This would be a 5 star review if I judged the food alone but it took a while to get it – it was ultimately welllll worth the wait. I had the spinach and mushroom omelette with no cheese, extra crispy home fries and the most delicious sausage patty ever. Hubby had the walk of shame burrito — which was so yummy. I love the full pot of decaf coffee and the overall vibe — so homey and warm :) We always sit back by the cooking at the counter by the kitchen. It’s a great show and such a yummy breakfast!

The first thing that will catch your eye upon entering Ted’s is the bright and shiny counter filled with pop tarts ranging from chocolate peppermint to blueberry cheesecake. The next thing you’ll notice is the high prices displayed on the menu. For example, my order of grilled cheese and tomato soup was $ 10.99. I thoroughly enjoyed the soup but thought the sandwich would have been better off with something less Velveta-ish especially at this price point. My blueberry cheesecake pop tart was a little underwhelming, next time I’d opt for the chocolate peppermint. Most other entrees are $ 15+ for comfort food in a diner-esque setting. I appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere and fast turnaround of our orders as well as the spacious booths that are great for big groups.

This weekend, I was hosting a large party(of 20) for my husband’s birthday. After a few other brunch places fell through, I found Ted’s Bulletin and called to secure a reservation(which they don’t really take). I spoke with a manager, would told me they would do a call ahead situation for me, as long as I called two hours prior to the time my party planned on attending. Sunday morning, I called. Apparently there was some miscommunication about my «call ahead» conversation with a manager, but the current manager on duty was willing to accommodate my large party anyway. When we got there, we only had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated at our tables. Unlike the terrible experience at a different restaurant the night before, Ted’s Bulletin was on the ball in every way. The waitress, Shaianne, was awesome. She brought us homemade pop tarts(yum) and took out drink orders quickly. Everything was so efficient, which was so nice for our large party. The food came our fairly quickly. It was delicious!!! Thank you so much, Ted’s, for an excellent end to my husband’s birthday weekend. You were truly the sprinkles on top of the pop-tart!

Every time we visit family in DC we make a beeline to Teds. We start off with a hearty milk shake and peruse the menu. The countless visits we have made have never left us disappointed(or hungry) as their serving sizes are plentiful. You must get a few of their hand made pies! To eat there and to take home. They are incredible. This place fills up quick at lunch and dinner but it is worth the wait. The décor is retro and playful. It is hard not to want to go home and alter my house to look similar. In short, go with a empty belly and leave with a foodie satisfied smile!

So I finally got to try Ted’s Bulletin. It has been on my list of brunch spots to try in DC because of their homemade poptarts. I decided to wake my husband up early(bc we have an hour drive) and go eat at Ted’s before the crowd. It worked out and we got in without the 1.5−2 hour wait. Yes, if you wait to late to go they have a loonngg wait. We tried to go 2 months ago and there was 1.5 hr wait. I’m glad we tried it, the food was good. They also give you a big portion of food. I ordered the Nana’s Beer Biscuits & Gravy and he ordered the Pancake Breakfast. I’m a country girl so I like biscuits and gravy. I thought I’d give it a try. It was very good. You got a little hint of beer but not overpowering. My potatoes were cooked perfect and my egg whites with cheese were also good. Overall a good dish. My husband ordered the pancake breakfast. It came with a stack of 3 fluffy pancakes, eggs, and hash browns. He ordered an extra side of eggs and he ordered a side of sausage. The pancakes were very fluffy and good. The sausage was also very good. It looked to be house made. I’m not completely sure but it has that homemade look and taste. It was good. He said his breakfast was very good and he enjoyed it. We both liked our breakfast dishes. After breakfast we stopped by the in house bakery. I couldn’t leave without trying the homemade poptarts I had seen so many pictures of. Remember, that is the entire reason I came. Why did I eat breakfast and not just get a pop tart to go? Well we drove an hour so I was going to make the drive worth our while. We decided to try 1 blueberry cheesecake poptart, 1 strawberry poptart, 1 slice of banana crème pie, and 1 brownie. Whoo, yeah my hubs and I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Trust me, we don’t eat them all at once. Ha-ha… So — the decision is in. the poptarts were descent. Not bad but for homemade they were ok. I think the ratio of crust to filling is off. It was a lot of crust and one bite and a half of filling. You bite into it and it’s nothing but crust. I think if they added more filling this would be better, for it to be homemade it isn’t bad. The crust taste pretty good, but who wants to buy a poptart and bite into nothing but crust. Well I don’t know about you, but I don’t. The banana crème pie was good. It taste just like banana pudding. No complaints here. The brownie wasn’t bad. It is very chocolatey but I do like the crunch from the chocolate chunks in it. Overall, not bad on the desserts. Overall, Ted’s Bulletin has a pretty good breakfast. My husband and I were both pleased with what we were served. The poptarts could use a little work, but I would come back and eat here again.

GOHERE! If you’re debating this place or somewhere else– go here! The ambience is awesome, waitstaff is knowledgable and friendly, and the food is great! I had the chicken Caesar wrap(blackened). Loved it! I nibbled on my friend’s brussel sprouts and square tater tots too, which I also loved. The best part had to be the pop-tarts though! Don’t leave without getting one(or three for the table). Our fave was the brown sugar one. Highly recommend this place!

This 1920’s jazz style diner/restaurant is all that I am looking for. What a fantastic surprise when you walk in even down to the bathroom doors! This place is open and spacious with just enough edginess and spunk for the young folk. My first interaction at Ted’s Bulletin was a weekday afternoon. I’m into a breakfast all day kinda place and when you’re known for your milkshakes(adult and non-adult) how could you go wrong? Read on… We started with the crispy pretzels(served w/smoked cheese and beer fondue) — hello heaven! I mean there were enough for each of us(4) but I could have went with another order. Highly recommend. I ordered the french toast w/hash browns and eggs for my entrée. It was delicious and yes I licked the plate. My boyfriend ordered The Reuben«Hand’s Down Best Reuben in Town» Grilled marbled rye, house-cured corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, 1000 island — served with hand-cut fries and pickle. I don’t even eat that and I would recommend to get it. I will be back again and again especially since I hear they are known for their handmade poptarts! That’s all the motivation I need. Enjoy!

At nearly $ 20 for two milkshakes, this place is for those types of folk. Still, they have a reputation for their milkshakes because, in this reviewers opinions, it is well deserved. The prince tag remains a bit of a shock, and reader, consider yourself warned for the bill’s surprise. We headed here exactly for their milkshakes, and the place has an excellent 1920s pub/restaurant feel. The servers are impeccably dressed in their white(captain? pilot?) suits and ties. It feels like stepping back in time a bit, especially when their menu is printed old-school style on a Newspaper like setting. Felt a bit snooty walking in, but I admit the servers won me over with our interactions with them. We ordered a S’Mores and Bailey’s Caramel Macchiato Irish Caramel Coffee. Both were delicious, and I would try all the other flavors based on this alone. Both had rich flavors and were sweet — just what you ordered, no? Very cute place to take a date, and while the people feel a little«Capitol Hill-policy-wonks» don’t let it detract you from the charming decour, the grumblepuss attitudes of the servers, and the milkshakes. I’d recommend bringing a person and sharing shakes.

Really good experience for our first time here. I came with my daughter for weekday lunch and it was not crowded, plenty of waitstaff, kid friendly. There is a sophisticated diner feel, so while the food is ‘diner fare’ the ambiance is calm and clean. I had a taco salad and on reflection I think I should have ordered a sandwich — next time. My daughter got a milkshake and it was Huge. The waitress seemed surprised that I was ordering it for my kid and when it came I saw why — it was definitely an adult size portion and the extra from the shaker was enough for another glass of shake! The brunch menu seemed to be the most extensive so we’ll try brunch there. Street parking in this part of 14th is actually ok — no problems getting a spot.

What’s to say about Ted’s Bulletin that hasn’t been said before? It’s a DC institution. It flawlessly tows that difficult line of being very open and approachable, unpretentious, but also an «edgy,» fun place that millennials can flock to as well. My first interaction with Ted’s Bulletin was stopping in for one of their famous poptarts. If you know me, you know I order the peanut butter/bacon ones. YUM! Their cakes are also some of the tallest slices I’ve ever seen. And dense too. I’ve also been to TB for just about every other meal as well. It reminds me of a much classier Cracker Barrel — you can still find some of my beloved Southern favorites but they’ve been upped a notch. I’ve found every single one of their servers to be charming. They started with a single location and have expanded quite a bit, so something must be working for them! Start your TB love affair with a poptart and may it never end…

My sister and friend mentioned coming to this spot three times, which is pretty impressive for them, so I felt obliged to try it out. I had the Salted Caramel pop tart and it first came out cold. Once I asked for them to warm it up, it was so gooey and just melted in my mouth. The taste was great. The other members of my party got other pop tarts(maple pecan, brown sugar cinnamon and blueberry cheesecake), and for the most part they tasted great. Not sure what had happened, but we ordered the Heath almond milk shake, and that was mediocre. It could have been the sweetness that messed up the taste, but I wished it had tasted better. Overall, great place for small desserts and coffee. Next time I gotta get their meals and specials.

I never thought I would spend $ 30 on six pop-tarts until I came to Ted’s Bulletin. But these aren’t just any pop-tarts. They are gourmet, handmade, right in front of you. The cinnamon apple is UNREAL, by far my favorite of all the pop-tarts. It’s totally worth getting one(but probably two just to be safe). If you stop in, watch as the pastry chefs make decadent treats in front of you. It’s really interesting to watch! I’ve also eaten lunch here and they have lots of tasty options. You can get giant breakfast platters, or tranditional American food. I had the Southwest(West Virginia) burger which was absolutely magical with the melted cheddar and avocado. I got a veggie pattie which was surprisingly hearty and tasty! If you are coming for weekend brunch, the wait can get upwards of two hours, so try and come early or call ahead. The servers are really fun though and it’s a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for gorging and throwing back some adult milkshakes(yes, those are a thing– check out the menu!)

Ted’s is a restaurant AND bakery with it’s own bakery take out counter! – blueberry cheesecake POPTART: we couldn’t resist and got one while we were waiting for our table BESTDECISIONEVER! it was my first time trying homemade poptarts and the crust was perfectly crumbly. YUM i’ve been missing out –TUBS breakfast sandwich: hefty enough to share! enjoyed the toasty bread and the side of hashbrowns –cinnamon roll«as big as ya head»: they have a limited amount so make sure to order it early! besides the size this wasn’t anything special compared to other cinnamon rolls NOTE: call 30 min to 1 hour before you plan to arrive(depending on the time) to be put on the waitlist so you don’t have to wait as long when you arrive!

«Comfortable, chic, and reasonably priced.» We decided on Ted’s Bulletin based on local recommendations and existing Unilocal reviews. What an excellent first brunch stop after a long red eye flight. Located on the corner of S St and N St, this establishment was only a quick stroll away from where we were staying. The front entrance was spacious and the bakery section displayed delicious and enticing pastries(which I will try to come back to sample). Our host immediately seated us and advised of the local favorites and drink accompaniments. The menu provided a nice selection American dishes and the newspaper fold out cover was clever. My immediate choice was the cured rib hash and mimosa. The rib hash was hearty and filling. An indication of a well done hash is the tender meat and potatoes. Even the egg was cooked to order(over medium). The servings were generous and service was on point. Our server consistently checked in on our meals and was kind enough to provide recommendations on other local spots.

I came here on a Saturday night for dinner and there was a 30 minute wait. They give you a buzzer, which has a one block radius. If you want to explore the area, you should just ask them to text you when a table is ready. I ordered the tomato soup with grilled cheese and my fiancée ordered the broccoli and cheddar soup with grilled cheese since it was a cold day and we needed something to warm us up. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. I love dipping grilled cheese sandwiches in my tomato soup and the pairing works really well. The broccoli and cheddar was pretty tasty as well. I also enjoyed the mac and cheese because it was baked and had a nice crispy outer layer to it, while the inside was so gooey from all the cheese. We ordered a salted caramel pop tart for dessert. They don’t look like much, but damn, they are really good. It doesn’t taste like a pop tart, it tastes way better. We had it warmed up and the taste was reminiscent of the crack pie from Momofuku Milk Bar in New York City. I highly recommend the pop tarts here. It was my favorite part of the meal. In my opinion, Ted’s Bulletin is a bit on the pricey side, but the food is definitely delicious.

This place was almost too chipper — the service mannerisms make you laugh, they definitely play the part. I haven’t dined at the other locations, but this is a chain. The inside of the restaurant is adorable, but expect a wait unless you have a reservation, especially for breakfast! They do let you all ahead — if your with more than 3ish people, definitely do this! You can also eat at the bar! Grab a poptart while you wait, because they are delicious and adorable. I kinda wish mine was warm, but maybe ill take it home next time. You can also get it as part of a few breakfast plates. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner during brunch. I cant imagine who orders the dinner, but hey, it could happen! My guest and I both went for the wrap — it was huge and delicious, nothing special though. Had we not have waited for so long I probably wouldve gone for the burrito — it looks so good! Service was not extraordinary — but I understand its a long morning/day for them, especially when brunch wait is over an hour. Not a super big restaurant, surprising that they sit so many people! They also have some great brunch cocktails
