Takoma Park Liquors

So this is a pretty average neighborhood liquor store. It’s one row, with a variety of coolers filled with beer, cheap wine, and artificial juices. The limited liquor supply is all behind the glass encased register area. I get why, but it doesn’t exactly make shopping here easy. The reason this particular, run-​of-​the-​mill shop replete with its resident winos begging for booze money outside is two stars instead of a more average three or more is that a) the labels are not clear for what item is priced as what, b) there is a whole dollar charge if you use a form of payment other than cash and c) they charge you the bag tax without even asking if you have a bag that you would like to use or if you’d like a bag. So a six pack that was advertised as $ 8.99 I ended up paying $ 11 for on my one and only trip. They reason it is two (1.5) and not 1 is because they did have Honey wheat Shocktop, although they did not have Stella Artois Cidre, Heineken Light, or less than 12 packs of any import. Shop Rite is RIGHT around the corner. There’s a parking or and a police presence. Go there.
