Agree poor service. branch closes before five all the time. Got there at 4:55pm and good service would still have a door open and not let others in after 5:00PM. At least that’s what more reputable banks do. Never had this happen from other banks. Guess I’ll go to pnc or well fargo now.

Major league incompetence best describes this branch. I felt like I was in one of those funny impersonal bank commercials!
Bank anywhere else (literally).
Where do i begin.
I was literally the only customer in the branch the entire time I was there yet spent 20 mins trying to close a premium money market account. All of that with one branch manager, one assistant branch manager and two tellers working! LOL.
The best part was the total attitude I got from a male teller…
So I asked the teller for a final statement or other documentation confirming my account was indeed closed. He said no, that the account wouldn’t be closed until the next day. Then I asked if he or someone from the branch could email a confirmation (i have an online bank profile with my email address but was concerned I would not be able to access it once the account was closed). The teller said no. With surprise I said: «seriously, this is a simple request», to which the teller replied with an attitude: «it’s really not that simple!»
Then, the teller offers to call his manager who is literally sitting 30 feet from him. He dials. I hear both sides of the conversation (they treated me like I wasn’t even there), then he hangs up and said. Sorry, I can’t help you… as he proceeded to charge pesky fees. LOL.
Was he really so lazy he couldn’t get on his two feet and walk to speak with his manager? Or is the manager the lazy one?
In retrospect, the first question the teller asked was: why are you closing the account? Is there anything I can do? Considering my unsuccessful trip to this branch, my reply should have been: DO YOUR JOB! Literally, the teller did nothing for me. Got his name so will definitely be in touch if my account was not closed.

The SunTrust branch located on 19^th between L and K Street’s is a model from which U Street could learn!
