SumaTech Consulting is an IT Services Company located in downtown DC. We serve lawyers, doctors, accountants, non-​profits, and associations in the metro DC area that don’t have the need or budget for a full time IT staff, yet need the same quality service as their larger counterparts. SumaTech Consulting truly is your full time IT staff for a part time price. We are computer geeks so you don’t have to be! SumaTech is staffed by computer guys that love working with computers and enjoy helping our clients support, maintain, and fix their computers.

History

Established in 2000.

SumaTech Consulting was founded in January 2000 by Mike Frizzell and Brian C. Reinoehl. Mike and Brian have been in the IT field since the mid 90s and have worked their way through the ranks from entry level help desk technicians to network engineers. In the fall of 1999, Mike and Brian were getting numerous calls from their friends and associates in the DC area requesting help with their business computers and networks. Seeing a need in the DC area for quality computer and network support, they founded SumaTech Consulting. SumaTech Consulting initially focused on small to medium sized law firms in the downtown DC area that did not have the need or budget for a full time IT staff. Through word of mouth referrals, SumaTech has since ventured into many other sectors of business including medical, accounting, finance, consulting, and lobbyists. SumaTech also works with the federal government, associations, and non-​profits as well.

Business Owner

Brian C. Reinoehl was forced into computer repair in 1987 while working at his family’s retail sports store. The store used an IBM PC Jr as a point of sale register. On a slow day Brian decided to take it apart to see how it worked. Needing to put it back together to keep the business running and not incur the wrath of dad, proved to be a good incentive to get the project right the first time. Upon graduating from the University of Baltimore in 1993, Brian went into the financial field and worked as a stock broker. Eventually he decided to get paid for what he was giving to his friends and family for free over the years and entered the IT field working at the helpdesk for a communications company. Always looking for new things to keep him interested, he worked on various projects until he met Mike in 1998. Relying on the skills he learned from the working the family business and years in financial sales, he convinced Mike to form a partnership with him in SumaTech Consulting.
