History

Established in 1996.

Started by former White House Radio Director Richard Strauss, Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. has evolved from one person’s bold entrepreneurial dream, to become the nation’s premier PR firm specializing in radio.

As the number of clients and projects has grown with our success, SRS has aggressively expanded its facilities and staff. In 2007 we opened a new office in New York City and in 2008 we nearly doubled the size of our headquarters office.

Our company philosophy and focus over the years has remained the same. We don’t approach radio as an «add-​on» or sideline to other core PR efforts. At Strauss Radio Strategies we are specialists. Radio is the ONLY thing that we do. Our staff is made up of experts in the nuance and landscape of radio. Many members of our staff have been drawn from the ranks of the broadcast industry.

Business Owner

Widely regarded by both the PR industry and political insiders to be the nation’s premier expert on radio public relations and political communication on the radio, Richard Strauss brings more than 20 of radio experience to the firm.

Strauss served three years as the first-​ever White House Radio Director in the Clinton Administration, booking and implementing talk radio interviews for the Administration and managing the weekly radio address.

Strauss served two years as the Learning Chair for the DC chapter of the Entrepreneur Organization (EO) and was named President of the DC chapter in 2009.

Strauss is a member of the National Press Club and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Strauss does frequent pro-​bono public relations consulting for the Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund and for the Capital Movement Project.

Strauss graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a degree in political science, resides in the District of Columbia, and is single.
