I’ve got a weird shaped head. But Jay just gave me the sickest fade I’ve ever had. Man’s an artist. Go there.

Took me a while to find a solid, consistent barber since moving from California a little over a year ago, but it was worth the wait. Been getting my haircut here from Kia for the last 6 months. The style of cut I get is really short on the sides and back, and long on top. First time I sat in her chair I nervously described what I wanted and she simply replied, «don’t worry, I got you. I’ll take care of you.» I’ve never been complimented so much on my haircut. I recommend this shop, and Kia specifically, to everyone. Men’s cut is $ 15.

Just moved to dc from philly and needed a regular spot to get my haircut. Jay was cool, precise and didnt have me sitting in the chair forever. This is definitely my new spot now that DC is home.

I really wasn’t pleased with my visit to the shop. I had no familiarity with the shop before going… I merely checked the reviews and they were good so I decided to give it a shot. I don’t really have a comment on anything regarding the shop or area… I’m simply concerned with a haircut when I go to a barbershop and everything else is irrelevant. In regards to my haircut, let’s just say it WASN’T GOOD. I asked for a medium length cut(think Will Smith post Fresh Prince). It was one of those cuts where I knew I was screwed after the first glance in the mirror I was able to get during the haircut. Once the barber was done, I asked if he could do a better job of shaping it, being that I was looking like Gumby at that point but after failing to get it closer to what he thought I wanted, I decided to just let it go and cut my losses. I paid $ 15, which wasn’t bad, but I would have preferred to pay $ 20 for better results. It was somewhat salvageable as I went back home and used my clippers and scissors to make the haircut respectable.

This is the only barbershop I have been to that can cut a full beard well and consistently! Few barbers enhance your appearance like Q-ball, Kevin, & J. All I can say is this place still continues to be one of the BEST barbershops in the area! Any given day you can be seated next to a celebrity and not even realize it. Ask yourself, how many barbershops you’ve seen come & go in your lifetime? How many times have you arrived at a barbershop on a Saturday and there are multiple barbers with empty chairs… NOTATSPURILL’s, everybody can cut. This isn’t just a barbershop this is an Institution!

In and Out, Great Service. Would Highly Recommend all the Barber’s are good. Typical old school city barbershop. I respect them.

I’ve been going here since middle school & everytime I leave this place people always ask me where did I go get my haircut. In fact I posted a picture when I left here and people were committing which I thought was hilarious. Q-Ball is the best, he stays busy so but he’s my man.

I had my first haircut in Washington DC on May 4th. After reading Unilocal’s reviews, I wanted to try Mohamed’s Barber Shop on Georgia Ave. As stated in the reviews, I got to the door and sure enough it was locked. Mohamed unlocked it and told me that he was on his last customer for the day. In disappointment(because the hours stated that he would be open later), I left not knowing when or where I’d get my haircut. I proceeded to move my car because I parked at a meter and didn’t have change. I moved it onto a side road and was very skeptical about leaving it there; therefore, I asked a lady if I would be in danger of getting towed. She informed me that if I don’t have a zone permit then I would most likely get a parking ticket or towed. She offered to show me where I could park. I moved the car and she asked me where I was going. I told her I was trying to get a haircut and she immediately suggested I try Spruill’s! She said she had been taking her son there for years and she even recommended that I see Keith when I went in. I went across the street to Spruill’s Bluebird Barbershop. From the outside, I wouldn’t have normally went in and even when I got in, I wouldn’t have normally stayed… Not to say anything bad, but the barbershop isn’t as organized as most barbershops that I go to. It was a bit cluttered but I wasn’t there to inspect so I asked for Keith. He did have one in his chair and two waiting but Keith knocked each haircut in less than 30 minutes. He was focused on each customer and he did an incredible job on each haircut! I usually like to have my edge-up completed with a straight razor finish but I never saw Keith pull out the razor to do such. He didn’t need to! Each haircut was very clean and polished. I got the same exact service when it was my turn. I was very pleased with my haircut! The best thing about it was it only cost me $ 15.00! This is what I paid to get my haircut in North Carolina. Bring cash. Don’t forget like I did… LOL Form what I could see, other barbers in the shop are just as skilled as Keith. Don’t go in expecting a salon and spa but you will come out looking like you just left one. I am sure this will be my new barbershop in Washington DC.
