Here’s what’s great about Soho, or this one in particular: diversity. As others have mentioned, what you find on Monday won’t be what’s available on Thursday or even the following Monday. There’s a great variety of food at the buffet available at good prices, but be careful of how much you load up on because it’s by the pound. Definitely worth the price, but just watch your wallet. Same goes for the sushi bar, which requires a separate container, but also worth the price. Should you go, I’d say go maybe around noon-ish. The hustle and bustle of people going in and out keeps things lively, but more than that, the food tends to be hotter around that time and what’s almost depleted can be replenished in no time at all. I can’t speak much to the grill since I go right for the buffet, so I can’t really assume whether it’s of similar quality. Either way, a nice stopping point if you’re in need of a downtown fix.

I used to love going to Soho for unexpectedly good freshly made sushi. Something has changed though. Although the sushi is still very fresh, the chef has started making the rolls extra large – about 2″ in diameter. Not only do they not fit in your mouth in one bite, they are covered in a coating of about ½″ of rice. There was so much rice attached it was obvious that it was added to make the sushi heavier with cheap ingredients as it is sold by weight. I just bought five pieces and, after scraping off about half the rice, there was roughly 2⁄3 of a cup of rice sitting in my tray. Pretty annoying as the sushi bar is priced around $ 11.00/lb.

Stopped by the other day for lunch with a friend. This place is huge with lots of food options — by the pound. There is also a Mongolian BBQ station that we had food from. The bowls to setup food for the BBQ are quite small and I could hardly get one serving piled up in one of them. I did note that folks were filling up the bowl twice(after handing over the first round to the chef). They have quite a few options for the cooking oils and condiments to go along with the BBQ. I was lucky to have concocted a decent mix of flavor and spice! They also have plenty of seating for in-house dining and we were able to find empty tables even during the busy lunch time. The food was good, but I was left wanting more at the end of my meal — pricey for the quantity IMO, but a decent lunch option nonetheless.

I just had a meal from the hot food bar and was not a fan. Totally mediocre food at prices that seem high for this sort of place. I probably won’t be going back.

Decent place to grab lunch downtown. They have a nice variety of options, including a sushi bar. Only downside is the pricing for everything(except for sandwiches/wraps) is based on weight. So often times I’ll end up spending more $$ than i was originally intending to.

All is well in life again. I’d read this place was closed, but found our recently that it was open, so I ventured back over for lunch and like I said, all is right in my world. Once again, I have a place to go when I need a veggie detox… their bok choy, brussel sprouts, and asparagus never disappoint. When I’m venturing out of veggie detox mode like today, their fried rice, fettuccine pasta, blackened catfish are always on point. Now, I’m wary about eating sushi buffet style, but I’m quite fond of their sushi selection. It’s fresh, tasty, and the gentleman that works there is quite helpful, friendly, a great ambassador of his sushi. I’m not a huge fan of their sandwich bar, but I grew up in Delaware and am pretty picky when it comes to my cheese steak or sub sandwiches. I have not tried their Mongolian bar either, there’s just too many other options to consider first. Now it can get a little pricey if your eyes are bigger than your stomach, so be careful with piling it on.

I was here for a work conference and this café was close by. I’m glad I found it. I REALLY enjoyed the variety and the quality of the buffet. They had large selection of various asianh dishes. One day for lunch I got the sushi buffet and it was solid, fresh sushi. is it the quality you’ll find in more specialized high end sushi locales? No, but it was good quality ingredients and a decent price. I also had the breakfast selection where i splurged on bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuit and gravy, and OJ. The bacon was a little over cooked but the rest was pretty good. The biscuits were not homemade but slathered with gravy they were fine. I ad the lunch special a couple of times and one day i chose corned beef, cabbage and potatoes, another day had a wide selection of Chinese specialties, and the third day I had a selection of salads. all-in –all, m a great deal with good food for busy workers. NOAMEX(AMERICANEXPRESS) ACCEPTED

I think 3.5 stars is about right. SoHo is great if you’re with people who either want(1) different things,(2) buffet food, or(3) sushi or Mongolian wok. I’m not a huge fan of the price-per-pound buffet(I’ve gotten it a few times but am never all that satisfied with my full meal), but this could also be because I don’t care for buffets all that much. I do think their sandwich bar is decent, and their fries are so-so. I recently discovered the Mongolian wok, which is pretty neat. How it works is: you fill up your metal tray(or trays) with raw ingredients and hand them to the chef behind the counter, and he’ll cook them right up. If you don’t have noodles in your bowl, he’ll add some rice to your veggies and meat. Also, after you hand him your tray(s) make sure to give him a bowl with your mix of sauces, which are on the right side of the counter. I thought it tasted great, but it is on the pricier side. It’s a quick stop for lunch, but not usually my first pick. Some of my colleagues love it, but I only ever really go when someone else suggests it first.

Dropped in here to get the lunch buffet, there were a lot of options, both in the cold and warm sections. I got some sesame chicken, a piece sushi, some veggies, beef, fried rice, etc. However, the food was not warm enough. Very disappointed.

Great food. I eat here almost every morning never been dissatisfied. Every now and then I’ll have lunch here too. The fact that it is in the same building I work helps a great deal. Very convenient for me.

3.5 stars Solid choice for a quick lunch downtown. The made to order sandwiches are good and all under $ 10(even after adding a side of fries)! I ordered the Steak & Cheese and it was pretty good and filling. Definitely a lot better deal than some sandwiches from the food trucks across the street in Franklin Square. They also have a pay per lb sushi and hot food bar. There’s a bunch of these downtown but this place has the widest selection I’ve seen. Plenty of tables around as well if you’re planning on eating your food here before heading back to work.

I only go maybe every other month to give it «another try.» Each time, it’s a let down, like a high school cafeteria. The Chinese food is rather bland and the chicken is tough like beef jerky. Even the grilled veggies, pasta, and mac and cheese are pathetic. I always wonder how they seem to mess these up such simple things. The price is cheap and the place is huge. They offer a wide variety of food but I’d rather have a restaurant be great at one thing(Five Guys, Chic-Fil-A) than be mediocre to lousy at every food you can imagine. If you’d like a better hot bar, try TJ’s Gormet a block away on L at 14th. The selection is much smaller but the food is way better.

Seriously go here everyday. Washington square club. Out of this world. Plus it is very much in the cheap side. They knock it out of the park with the breakfast sandwiches. Go here for breakfast or lunch, highly recommended.

Had the most disgusting experience here. After an afternoon workout, I wanted to get something healthy to eat. So of course, I stocked up on grilled veggies and chicken. Brought everything back to my office and started chomping away — as I was eating my second to last piece of grilled zucchini, I saw what looked like a MAGGOT… after a closer look, I realized that it was a maggot. Grilled right through, just like my zucchini. I could have almost died that I ate just about the whole meal and what I was greeted to on my plate was a worm of sorts. At the end of the day, Soho refunded my money(they even offered next lunch on them… um, thanks, but no thanks!), so they did the right thing. However, after the most stomach churning experience I’ve ever had with food, I will not be going there ever again. Save yourself an unfortunate experience and pick another restaurant!

I’ve been working near this location for almost 4 years and I have to say you get the best bang for your buck here. Not necessarily on the hot bar, but at the main ordering station. They have a second station which offers hibachi style food for $ 11. The hot bar is «pay per pound» and it can get pretty expensive depending on how hungry you are. Breakfast is pretty darn good. You can get eggs, bacon, home fries, and two pieces of toast for under $ 4.50 The portions are very generous as well! The same applies for lunch. You can get a LOADED half pound bacon burger, with a container filled with fries, and drink for $ 9. It’s actually more like $ 7 but my bottled Arizona iced tea upped the price a bit. They have tons of different sandwiches to choose from. Everything is under $ 10 and made to order. The inside has plenty of seating and is great for groups. It’s always clean and the lines move pretty quickly. I don’t usually eat from the hot bar, but they try to keep it stocked with fresh food. The Asian cuisine is usually what I would go for and it’s pretty tasty. Just don’t get too greedy or you will wish you ate in somewhere. Trust me, I’ve spent 16 $ here before lol.

I’m seriously addicted to this place. I live nearby, and because of Soho’s «workday» hours(Mon-Fri for breakfast and lunch, closed on weekends), I don’t often get to eat here because my office is in Virginia. But when I get the rare weekday at home, Soho is my first choice for breakfast. They have a hot breakfast bar, a cold bar, and a made to order station. The hot breakfast bar usually has a couple different kinds of eggs, potatoes, sausage and gravy, french toast. A great selection, and the food is really good quality even coming from a buffet. It manages to not get overcooked and stays at the perfect temperature. The cold bar has a solid selection of fresh fruit and a couple other items like pudding and hard boiled eggs. The made to order station has omelets and breakfast sandwiches. Never been to Soho for lunch, but I am seriously in love with their breakfast. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s perfect and delicious every time. Be careful at the buffet stations because you pay by the pound. But otherwise, you really can’t go wrong.

My attitude towards this place has improved over time — I used to be extremely annoyed by the pay-by-the-pound, and felt like they were ripping me off and weighing down their food with tons of water and oil on purpose to make it more expensive. However, I have gotten better at selecting foods that are lighter, and lowering the cost of my lunch. I really like their apple salad, and their tomato/avocado salad and the fact that they have whole hard boiled eggs. This is now where I go to get«healthy» food, next to Chopt. They have a great selection at their fruit bar, particularly because they have KIWI! One of my favorite fruits. I was also pleased to learn yesterday that they have a breakfast bar. Fruit, eggs, and a variety of foods like french toast and biscuits. I have never had anyone make me a sandwich, omelette, or mongolian bbq but that is also an option here. This isn’t quite a 4-star place because there are still some minor issues and kinks that I don’t feel like getting into, but this is overall a good place to get a healthy lunch or breakfast.

I work in the building, but I eat at Soho only about once a month(unlike many of my colleagues who are addicted to the place). Still, I am rarely disappointed by the food. I always opt for the made-to-order sandwiches, like today’s Chicken Gyro Deluxe special. With a pile of fries, good value for $ 7.45. The salad bar looks very good, I really should try it sometime.

Found this place serving a made to order or buffet breakfast at 7AM after trying a disgusting hotel breakfast. They offer some fresh and tasty breakfast foods as you pay by the pound. Great hot food assortment and great cut fresh fruit assortment. I came here twice for breakfast in my two day stay. Fantastic quick option if you are in the area.

Nice concept with lots of choices, cold and hot, plus sandwiches. Lots of Asian food and sushi bar. Have eaten there 4 – 5 times, and will eat there again since it’s quick, and when I’m in DC I usually don’t have time for a full lunch, and can’t stand«grabbing a bite». The fresh fruits and salad choices are strongest. The hot food was a bit cool today(I tried the mapo tofu and szechuan green beans). The cold sesame noodles were good. Prices are a bit steep for the food quality(which is why I’m not giving them four stars). My lunch was $ 13 for example. OK for DC and not bad for being quick, but you can do better at the Thai restaurant down K street a bit(and they have mango drinks too).
