Signature Collision

Pretty horrible service from this place. First they returned my car after what they told me would be a 2 weeks wait over a month later. Then I had to drive around with a scary and obnoxious sound coming from where the damage had occurred on the front passenger side. I returned with the car and was told it may be an obviously damaged lining under (which they initially neglected to fix) my car that was flapping against the wheel. I was told they would order the part and have it fixed. Two weeks later when I did not receive a call from them, I called only to be told that they had no knowledge of the part being ordered. I did not give them the third chance they requested to fix the issue. I went to Jim Coleman Toyota in bethesda and all the guy had to do was look to tell me what the problem was and use a clip to fix it within minutes. I also found out that they had neglected to replace all the wheel locks on my car after pulling it apart. The rubber on my passenger side of my car next to my windshield is also loose curtesy of a sloppy and unfinished Job. I would never recommend using this place if you want to feel that your car is in good hands.

I came in to get my car adjusted after an accident and was immediately greeted and helped. Service was amazing. Everyone was extremely attentive, polite, and courteous. Throughout the time I was there they constantly kept me up to date on the progress of the evaluation. Lessie, Michael, and Luigi were great.

I was referred to Signature Collision by GEICO. I got my car back today and it looks brand new. In addition to the insurance work, I asked them to fix a bumper on the other side. They did that work for a very reasonable price. Their communications are quite good. They send text messages on the status of the repairs, so I did not have to keep checking. I have had body work done a few times over the years and the work has been good each time. For GEICO customers, there is a great convenience factor, since the estimate, car rental, and repair are all done at the same location. So you only need to go there to leave the car and get it back. The staff is very friendly. This is the only GEICO express location in DC. As such, there is a lifetime guarantee on the body work.

Geico policyholder who dropped 328i on Friday and picked up the following Thursday (Finished a day ahead of scheduled). Gus, who is the store manager waited 15minutes (after shopped closed at 5:30) to ensure I could pick up my car accommodating my work schedule. Would recommend to other Geico members since they are preferred customers at this location.

I came to try and get my front bumper resprayed, and they told me to wait for two weeks to bring it back. No written estimate, the «manager» just gave me a price verbally and went back inside. Surprise, surprise, when I show up two weeks later nobody has any idea that I’ve made an appointment. Everybody in the front office seems completely incompetent (both times I came) and there seems to be a whole bunch of people in the back lot doing nothing (both times I came). I guess I will never know if they do good work, but with customer service like this I wouldn’t recommend you try. There are too many we’ll run businesses in the world to deal with this.

I had an excellent experience with Signature Collision Repair. I took my car in after an accident (I went through Geico) and everything was very easy. I dropped my car off on a Friday and I was told the repairs would be completed the following Friday. I received texts daily keeping me informed of the progress and the repairs ended up being completed by Thursday. When I picked my car up it looked brand new and they had even detailed the interior! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or use Signature Collision again! Very happy!

DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU ARE NOT INSURED BY GEICO. This is the first time I’ve ever wished we could give negative star ratings. If so, I’d plant these guys with a minus 3. Why? Because we were told that the repair to our truck would take 2 weeks, it’s been almost 6 weeks, and it’s still not done. Why? It turns out these guys do Geico work before they’ll do work that’s covered under any other insurance. If they’d told me that up front, I would have gone someplace else but now it’s too late.
If that isn’t bad enough, I have had no idea what is going on because every time I call to ask what is happening with our repair, the guy who answers the phone, Louis, tells me he’ll call me back and then he never does. Worse, when I do finally get an estimated completion date from him, it is always later than the date they gave me before.
I obviously can’t review the work itself BECAUSE IT HASN’T BEEN DONE YET but if this place does repairs the same way they do customer service, it will be freakishly bad.
Update: We are closing in on week 7, we still don’t have our truck back, and Signature is still not calling me when they say they will.

I took my car here through Geico’s recommendation. The communication was very bad but the end result turned out very nicely.

How is this place not open on weekends?

After having my driver’s side mirror knocked into while I was sitting in my car on Monday morning, my Geico agent recommended I take my car to Signature Collision. I was a little hesitant since I just moved to the DC area and wasn’t sure of the area, let alone if I would be getting a good deal since I hadn’t really «shopped around».
The guys here put all my worries to rest from the start. I had called prior to showing up and I was greeted promptly upon entering. Al made sure that I had a written estimate (which was much less than what I was expecting to pay), and attempted to order the part that day, so I could get in and out quickly. Unfortunately, I had to wait an extra day for the part to come in, but when I took my car back on Tuesday morning, everyone was just as nice and helpful (and they let me bring my little dogs into the waiting area too!). I was in and out within about 45 minutes — AND — they even cleaned the inside of my car and washed it! Which was really impressive because after making an out of state move it was a disaster and they did it with no questions asked. I was able to check my car out before taking off and had already paid the day before so it made things even easier.
I will definitely be recommending this place to all my DC and out of state friends if they ever find themselves in need of a collision/​repair center.
Oh, they even have a rental car agency on site for those needing a long term transportation solution while their car is in the shop.
Overall, five stars for professionalism, promptness and going above and beyond what was expected for just getting my mirror replaced.

Dropped my car here for a repair since my car insurance recommended them as collision center. They did a pretty good job, my car looked as new after I read ended someone. The service was done in a fairly timely fashion, well, not really sure how long it should really take anyway but they fixed it in less than a week. The only reason I took a star off and not gave them a full 5 stars is because I had to constantly follow up with them to see if they ordered my part and follow up with the progress of my car to make sure I get it back in time.

Just picked up my car after a fender bender. Geico recommended. Dropped it off on Monday and they told me my car would be ready by the end of the week, and sure enough it was. I also got text messages every few days updating me on the progress. Picked my car up and it looked as good as new. They also washed it and detailed the inside (which it badly needed). Geico estimate was $ 1,500 and the bill came in at $ 1,700 due to the bumper having to be fully replaced. Very satisfied with my experience.

My car looks good as new after rear ending someone. They cleaned the interior and exterior upon completion which I was grateful for.
Someone called me regularly to update me on the status which was nice.
They also have an enterprise rep onsite to get you into a rental.
It was worth it to take my car from Fairfax to DC for the service they provided.

I drive a 2013 BMW 1 series and no I’m not crazy into my car, but being as it is my first car you can guess I was upset when some woman (on drugs) hit my car. I was very upset to say the least. Gieco recommended this place. I was apprehensive at first but after I picked up my car I was the happiest girl in the world! My car looks brand new and you would never be able to tell it had been damaged. :) thank you guys!

Had my driver’s side mirror taken off while my car was parked on the street outside my house. Went to Signature off a rec from a neighbor and was very impressed with the work done there and their customer service! Also, it ended up being about half the price of the last time I had that same repair done elsewhere. They were super polite and helpful. Someone even followed up several days later to make sure I was happy with the work. Would def go there again.

These guys are willing to work with you until the job is don’t the way you desire. At first I saw some imperfections and the manager Matt said, bring the car back and let’s get it right. He then gave me a rental free of charge and proceeded to correct the issue over the next few business days. He even gave me a discount for my troubles. I would come back… collision centers are as good as the person who communicates their issues and frustrations with the repairs. I’ve seen good work and bad work but if you can communicate to them your expectations I’m sure they can meet them.

I don’t know what more you could ask from an auto-​body/​insurance set-​up. It is super fast and the staff is very courteous. They repaired my door after a dump truck ran me over and the car looks good as new.

I don’t hand out many one star reviews, but I’ve had it with these folks. I’ll keep it brief…
Dec 2011, car wrecked (in all fairness, pretty badly damaged). Geico sends it to Signature. Deep into February, car is returned to me. So, greater than 8 weeks repair time.
Get car home — Windows do not work, AC does not work. Car goes back…
All of 2012 — repairs slowly failing, making awful sounds, getting worse, side panel coming loose…
Dec 2012 — car goes back to Signature (because this is where the warranty is). Sounds are repaired, car still drives like an old taxi.
March 2013 — Car goes for VA inspection and fails — major safety features (Such as the latch that keeps the hood from flying up) are missing. Right.
March 2013 car goes back. Speak with Manager — he’ll call me in three days. Five days later — no call. Incidentally, the Enterprise gal gave me a car with no gas that absolutely stinks of smoke. It’s sitting in my garage as I won’t put my wife and kid in it.
This place has a serious check list problem (like, do the windows work?) and an even more serious follow up problem (like, can you call me when you say you will?).
I’m trapped here because of Geico.
If you have any say in the matter, avoid this shop at all costs. Good luck.
PS — had the Unilocal filtering picked up the obvious fake review from «A.A.» this place would be at one star. I’m sure AA just wanted to post one review, ever, and about a body shop. Right.

I’ll make this simple: DO NOT GO HERE. Unless you’re into wasting your time with a bunch of incompetent body repair morons who can’t do a repair job correctly or in a reasonable amount of time… which will include the time spent returning to have them fix a part they skipped (and probably hoped I wouldn’t notice) AND fix a part they did not reattach correctly.
Initially, I was extremely flexible, giving them a week to do a 3-​day job. After a week, the update phone calls stopped and I had to call them. By Day 10 I demanded my car back. Upon inspecting it, I pointed out the unrepaired part, to which Sean replied with a dumb look and, «Uhhh…sorry.»
He told me I could bring my car back anytime to have them paint it, and it would only take a day. So I did, calling in advance to make sure it was a good time for me to bring it in. It’s now Day 3 and they’re still not done. When I reminded them this was their mistake and asked if this was their idea of good customer service, their obnoxious manager Matthew told me he didn’t care what I thought.
Which is ironic, actually, because when I first picked up my car, they were sooooo concerned that I rate them «all 10s» on their customer service survey. You’d think sincere concern would result in me not having to bring my car back 3 times, nor would it have me walking out after telling tell their manager to perform an anatomically difficult sex act on himself.
There are too many body shops in this area to have to deal with Signature’s BS.

This place should have NEGATIVE STARS! I should have read the reviews prior to bringing my car here. I had a truck back into my car door and needed repaired. I am unfamiliar to auto body repair shops in the DMV area so I figured I would go since my car insurance company, GEICO, had recommended this place and made me an appointment (mistake #1.Lesson learned: dont ever do that)
I take off from work to bring my car here. They were so welcoming (I should have smelt the phoniness a mile away) and eager that i be provided «Level 10» service. I dropped my car off and was given a rental onsite.
The shop assured me that they would order a NEW door and be restored to its condition prior to the accident and I was told they would need 3 days for repairs– cool. I recieved daily phone calls regarding the progress of the car and on the 3^rd day, I was told that they had ordered the parts and paint from the dealership and needed more time (strike #1)
Although annoyed inside, I was very understanding and told them to take the time they needed to make sure the repairs are done the right way and well. I was called to pick up the car an exact week later (10 days from drop off). I take off a few hours from work and drive over (in DC rush hour traffic) to pick up my car. I was sat down and given paperwork and the front desk receptionist and some other shop representatives were VERY PUSHY about making sure I was given «Level 10» service and to be sure to report to GEICO that I was given level 10 service (red flag/​mistake #2).
I was told my car was ready and Sean/​Shawn walked me out to my car and said, «ok here’s your car» gave me my keys and WALKED AWAY (red flag). Not so fast I thought as there was no way in hell i would drive away without inspecting it and I did not appreciate the poor customer service move. If you are a business and value your worksmanship, you stand by your work or at least stay to see that I am satisfied! (strike #2)
I inspected the door and saw a POOR AND SLOPPY WORK JOB aka it LOOKED LIKE CRAP! ENRAGED/​trying to keep my cool, I walked into the shop to ask that Sean come out adding that I found him to be extremely rude as I was not pleased he had walked away and rightfully so, I was not the least pleased with the work they had done. He came out to the car with me and I asked, «so you guys put a new car door on, right?» Sean replied, «yes ma’am». Annoyed, I said, «Well it doesn’t look like a new door» as I pointed out several knicks, scratches, bottom of door was rusted, spots of paint chips were painted over, the inside foam/​rubber of door was torn, ripped, the windows did not go up and down as they should (automatic windows to which he said «oh haha my bad» and reset them). (strike #4).
Nervously, he admitted that it was not a new door and that it was «recycled» from a junkyard (its a 2 year olf car!) «so you lied to me!!!» I told him (strike #5).
I told them that if that was the condition they were to give me my car I would not accept and took the car rental keys back. He apologized several times and said they would fix it and not to worry about telling my insurance company (red flag and strike #6) You bet your ass I called my insurance company and while sympathetic, GEICO pretty much gave me the option of having them redo it or go somewhere else and recommended I speak with the GEICO rep at the shop. I did just that and since we had initially agreed a new door was being put on and I never consented to junkyard parts (thus devaluing the 2 year old car) and demanded that he personally see to it that the work was done the right way as if it was his car and I was not accepting this level of work PERIOD!!! I may not know cars but i have enough street sense to know when someone was trying to get over on me/​give me the run around and I am no pushover!!!
Took 3 MISERABLE weeks to get my car back and dealt with poor customer service and an abundance of unnecessary drama and stress. They didn’t even clean or vacuum the car either which most places do but after the nightmare I went though with them, I wanted to get the hell out of there! I will never go here for anything ever again!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! PERIOD.
