Description

Specialties

On December 17, 1787, Pennsylvania became the second state to ratify the Constitution. Playing on the historical significance of this date, Second State Restaurant is an elegant homage to Pennsylvania with craft cocktails and a seasonal, farm to table menu. Set in a refurbished row house, diners can expect a cozy cool atmosphere, with iron and crystal accents mixed in with distressed metals that speak to materials indigenous to Pennsylvania.

When creating this concept, Wooden Nickel Bar Company chose to continue with a Farm to Table menu because it represents the freshest product available. All of our meats come from local farms less than three hours away, with a focus on Pennsylvania. We are supporting the local farmers and economy and it’s our passion to teach people how much better fresh and natural food can be. We serve our Dinner meats a la carte with simple seasoning to highlight the flavors so our guests can get the true flavor of the meat and produce.

Keeping to a spirit-specific cocktail program, the Second State drink menu features a list of original takes on classic drinks, driven by a focus on rye whiskeys and native Pennsylvania spirits. The craft bar highlights house-made syrups and mixers, and also changes seasonally to offer the same local and fresh ingredients as our kitchen. Guests will enjoy an array of mules, sours, punches, juleps, fizzes and flips that harken back to the Golden Age of cocktails.
